Chapters A special thanks to everyone that loved my last story, “Moon Phased.” This story drives away from the special night princess to a more… Well a more shy and studious pony. I thought Twilight would make a great romance, mainly because she has no experience with friendship, so why would she know of romance? Case in point this story is romance, with some very light clop elements, please enjoy!
One more thing, I have been receiving messages saying my stories support bestiality, so I direct those people to this post I made in my recent blog addressing the issue. My argument can be read here

You feel your mouth hanging in a mixture of awe and fear, a few minutes ago you were just mulling over a magic studies book, ignoring other classmates as they failed somewhat miserably on a relatively simple spell. Now Princess Celestia stood at the head of the class, a smile more brilliant and lovely than the sun itself spread across her elegant face.
“Good morning, everypony, I have come under the pretense that there is a gifted unicorn among this class.”
Her voice, a sweet melody of springtime and song birds, enters one of your ears, turns your brain to mush, and then promptly exits the other. Why would the princess herself be coming to your class? And who is the unicorn she speaks of?
The answer becomes fairly clear as every one of your classmates turn their heads to stare at you.
“What is your name?” Celestia asks as her eyes seemingly dive into your soul.
With a shaky hoof you raise it to your chest and find it very hard to breathe. She nods her head as the other students continue to stare wide-eyed. What exactly had you done to deserve this honor?
“My…my name is Quill.”
Classy, at least you didn’t say your full name, Quilliard.
Her smile only widens as she walks down the rows of workbenches gracefully swishing her tail so that it harmlessly wisps past other students. As she stands over you, a good head and a half taller, you feel a certain…joy of her being so close. You had seen her before during a speech, but you had been standing on your fathers back at the time and still hadn’t earned a cutie mark.
She lowers her head to your level and looks you over, first at your horn, and then your face, and then across your body before nodding her head. You can smell her breath, a fusion of fresh fruit and cinnamon. She then closes her eyes and nods her head slowly before turning around and addressing your professor, who has also forgotten to breathe.
“I am taking this young unicorn with me and he will no longer be attending this academy. Thank you for sending the letter.”
Your professor nods meekly as you tail closely behind the princess, two guards taking up residence behind you as she leads you out of the academy. Still confused as to why she did that you wish to speak, to question, but find yourself mutely following the princess to her carriage.
As she gets in and beckons you forward, you feel your face growing hot, being in the same carriage and so close to the princess? You fear you might just pass out right there. Luckily you manage to swallow back the fear and take a seat across from the sun goddess and bow your head so she cant see your reddening face.
“Your professor believes your magic is far too powerful for the academy and asked if I had a unicorn powerful enough to serve as your teacher. I only know of one of my former students that could help you.”
You gulp and feel like shaking. Who would end up teaching you? You envision a tiny old stallion with a bushy beard that makes you balance rocks on your back as he speaks with a weird voice.
"Ready are you not to be a true mage."
You chuckle, he would be a green stallion with wavy crazy white hair. The cart stops after what seems an eternity of waiting and Celestia exits to lead you up to an enormous white palace. If your jaw wasn’t hinged in it would have hit the cold pavement at your hooves. Never had you dared imagine being at the royal castle. The sun is at the peak of the tallest tower, and as you look at Celestia the sun itself is shining down on her, giving off the most majestic glow.
Down boy….
With a nod of her head you follow her up the crimson carpeted stairway entering the royal throne room. You REALLY need to sit down before passing out. She apparently saw what your mind was conveying to your body…Or she could read minds like some of the students had told you.
“Please sit, you must be exhausted and I’m sure this is incredibly strange for you.”
You do as she says, finding a fluffed up cushion floating under you as you fall back. She sits as well and stares at you with expectant eyes waiting for some form of conversation. What can you say? She swept you out of an academy that quite frankly wasn’t advanced enough for you, she tells you of someone that can teach you then neglects to say more, and then she takes you to the bucking palace!
“I suppose I would like to know where I’m going.”
She smiles widely and a plate holding assorted foods and cups of tea floats to your side. Whatever she was planning was becoming quickly irrelevant at the mere sight of food. As you take an experimental bite of what looks like a cupcake, your mind shatters into tiny bliss and sugar coated bits. This cupcake was the most delicious thing that you had ever had the pleasure of eating, and from the princess no less!
“I only have one student that could teach at the level you require. You will be transferred to Ponyville and resume studies under my protege, Twilight Sparkle.”
Food literally falls from your gaping mouth as you try to comprehend what she just said. Ponyville? That was the most chaotic town that you knew of. The focal point of the Elements of Harmony bearers. It also held many wonders that had been taught to you at home.
Twilight Sparkle? But she’s not even older than you!
Truth be told, learning that Twilight would be educating you wasn’t a well welcomed thought. However, she was the Element of magic, so if anyone could help you it would be her. Taking a moment to stuff your face with two more cupcakes(Much to Celestia's enjoyment.), you soon feel a glimmer of hope. Perhaps now you can keep your power under control, perhaps now you can find out who you were meant to be. Downing a glass of tea you stand abruptly and smile at the princess.
“When do I leave?” You eagerly ask.
With a smile only describable as trollish, her horn glows and envelops you in a golden shower of sparks and light.
“You leave now.”
Before you have time to react or grab another cupcake, you find yourself in a quaint and warm room, the walls filled to the tops with books and other assorted scholarly treasures. You trot forward and remove a copy of “History of The Elements,” and begin to browse, appreciating wherever Celestia sent you. A clopping sound jars you from the good read and you turn around to be confronted by a glaring purple unicorn.
“Where did you come from?”
No words come to mind as the glaring unicorn surveys the area looking for possible clues of your sudden appearance. Her deep lavender eyes seem to watch you with the guise of a scientist. As she continues to circle you with a glare you find the ability to speak.
“Celestia sent me here, she said you could-”
You fail to say anything else as a purple miniature dragon bursts into the room, holding a scroll with the all to familiar royal seal engraved in wax. Twilight grabs the letter and reads over it with speed unlike anything you had ever seen before rolling it back up and handing it to the dragon.
“Thank you, Spike, I was beginning to think he was an intruder.”
“Well, if you let me finish!” You interject, becoming increasingly annoyed with the unicorn.
“Well, I suppose introductions would be necessary before lessons? My name is Twilight sparkle, and this is my assistant, Spike.”
Spike nods his head to you and you copy the gesture, looking to Twilight with a look surmised as part confused and part annoyed.
“My name is Quill. Celestia said you could help me control my magic.”
She gives you a speculative glance before smiling slightly. You have the sudden vision of painful lessons, a whip in her maw as she presses a hoof to your throat.
What the buck?
With a laugh she closes her eyes, levitating some books to you and setting them in a perfectly symmetrical pile. As she levitates book after book you cant help but stare, her smile is wide now and her eyes are closed in carefree concentration. It’s actually kind of cute.
You don’t even know her!
That’s not entirely true… Everypony knows of Twilight Sparkle and the other Elements' adventures. You remember hearing the news when she broke the spirit of one Trixie upon calming the great Ursa Minor. Every colt and stallion in Canterlot had at least once talked of her, and even the princess called her a prodigy, a mage of great promise.
So why wouldn’t you think she was cute?
Any thought of her apparent adorableness is quickly destroyed as one particularly heavy book falls right on your hoof, and you cry out in a shrill yelp of pain as you leap backwards crashing into a bookcase. The impact of your crash dishevels even more books, which, like dominoes, hit your head one by one. As the last book, aptly titled "The Laws of Gravity and Magic," falls on the lump growing from your head, you realize the stars dancing around your eyes are probably not real.
“Oh! Are you alright, Quill?”
Of course you can't answer her over the shrieking of the pink and golden birds floating on the imaginary stars. You manage to shakily stand on your legs and shoot her the most poisonous glare you can before shaking your head with a sigh.
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
Your inability to lie must have caught her. She walks over and offers her side as she begins to walk you out the door and into a large living space, and then up a winding staircase to a spare bedroom. Her coat is soft you can feel her heartbeat as she leads you into the room. The beat quickens as she turns and notices your staring, and with a fervent blush she turns her head away. You break away, almost regretting the absence of her warm soft coat supporting you. The walk to the bed is slow, at least it feels that way as you manage to flop down on the cloud-soft mattress.
“Can I bring you anything? A book or perhaps a glass of tea?”
You begin to wonder how many books she has stored in this home, and one particular book appears at the forefront of your mind.
“Do you have the complete works of C.S. Lewis? I would also appreciate any works relating to magic theory if you have any.”
The sudden spark in her eye almost catches you off guard as she disappears out of the room momentarily, rushing back with an old black leather book.
“Have you read 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader?' Or 'The Silver Chair?'”
You shake your head with a smile. This might be fun after all.
“I actually prefer The Magician's Nephew.”
She looks at you confusedly and disappears momentarily, bringing a smaller book bound in red fabric and laying it on your bed. You pick it up with your magical grasp and flip through the pages.
This book has never been opened!
Twilight looks away and paws at the ground, looking everywhere but where you lay. It’s almost too much, you know exactly what she wants, but she is unable to ask.
“Twilight, would you like me to read you this?”
With a girlish squeal she leaps over and nestles next to you, her eyes wide as she looks down at the book. You knew from gossip that Twilight loved nothing more than a good book, and loved it even more when someone else read it to her.
~+~+~+~
A few hours have passed, and aside from the occasional question or giggle from Twilight, she has been quite the audience. She now sleeps against you, her head curled in and resting on her hooves. You chuckle to yourself and levitate the book onto the nightstand, debating whether or not to wake the sleeping mare beside you. She smiles softly, the moon casting a pale glow across her slumbering frame.
Just let her sleep.
You pull the blanket over you and give her the most of it, smiling as she sighs quietly. A good book would put anypony to sleep, and you soon find you are no exception. The tug of slumber lulls you into a deep sleep, and you begin to silently enjoy the presence of the purple unicorn.
~+~+~+~
“Wake up, my young student.”
Your eyes open slowly to see a smiling mare before you, her lavender eyes peering closely into yours. She stands on top of you, her front hoof rubbing your chest as she peers down at you with a hungry smile.
“It’s time to begin your lessons.”
With that she presses her mouth to yours in a hungry growl. The feeling of her soft, ferocious lips is intoxicating, and you soon find the desire for more. As she presses harder, she rubs her chest against yours, creating friction similar to that of two soft fabrics pressed together with opposing forces.
Well that was scientific…
Her growl slowly becomes a softer moan as you press a tentative tongue forward like an explorer exploring exotic lands yet undiscovered.
Stop that.
The tentative fondling of her hooves migrates across your chest, lower and lower still. A groan escapes your lips as you press your tongue forward with an equal apposing force and her eyes shoot open and a smile spreads across her face.
"Twilight…"
“Who?”
You look at her as she breaks the heated kiss.
“Twilight?”
“Who?”
~+~+~+~+~
Your eyes shoot open as you stare at the ceiling. The sun is now over the horizon, it was most likely close to mid-day. You turn over and see Twilight still sound asleep, the book from the previous night clutched tightly in her hooves. A ruffle of feathers alerts your vision to the right, where a particularly odd looking owl is peering at you with a knowing grin.
“Who?”
You silently curse to yourself and sit there for a time, the dream was so vivid it could have been an actual event. Yet she lays there in deep slumber, undisturbed from any possible exercise that could have taken place during the evening. You shift uncomfortably in the bed as two realizations hit you like a train.
You're attracted to your tutor…
And you have a bad case of morning wood…
Special thanks to Dr. Bob for editing!
Big change from first version of chapter 2. I rushed through that chapter and apologize. I usually take a day to get ideas but I was so eager to post an update I didn’t. So here is Ch 2 as it was meant to be! Slow and steady my friends… Slow and steady.
The morning sun almost makes your body too hot as you struggle to get out of bed without alerting the sleeping Twilight. What in Celestias name had possessed you last night to dream of her like that? As you slowly leave the bed she stirs slightly, clutching the book that you had read her the night before. Conflicting emotions run through your mind as you make your way into the bathroom, shutting the door as you look at yourself in the mirror.
What are you doing Quill?
You look down and see a small package with your name on it, and you smile as the package contains a small pack of your bath essentials. The comb seems to leer at you as you glare angrily at it.
Damnit.
With a grunt you envelop the brush with magic and raise it to your mane, sweat dripping off your brow as you try to bring it down gently. You overpower the brush and it strikes you atop the head, and in a yell of rage you throw it to the floor.
“Buck!”
When it came to large tasks you were exceptional. You had moved a boulder as a small child, but when it came to precise movements and small objects you always overpowered it. No matter how hard you focused it would never execute exact movements. You hear a knock at the door and hold your breath waiting for a reply.
“Quill? Are you alright?”
It was Twilight. You look around real fast to see if you broke anything. The brush is lying in two splintered pieces, and you quickly throw it out before opening the door and facing Twilight. Her hair is slightly disheveled and she is giving you a look of concern. With a sigh you push past her and walk downstairs, greeting the purple dragon in the kitchen as he whips up breakfast. He gives you a glare as he grumbles to himself, apparently not happy at cooking for three people.
You feel sorry for the little guy. He looks like he is constantly overworked, and despite only Twilight and him living in this library it is in peek condition.
“Are you ready for your first lesson?” Twilight asks quietly as she rounds the corner into the dining room, her hair amazingly well kept for only a few minutes in the bathroom.
You sigh and nod your head. You were here to see if she could help you.
“We can eat first and then come out back, I have your first test laid out.”
You nod again as Spike slaps a plate of hay fries and flapjacks in front of you, continually grumbling as he takes his place next to Twilight. A silent apology escapes your lips as you eat in silence, wondering if coming here was the best idea.
You could have hurt somepony if you didn’t.
Your eyes close tight as the memories of that day. That’s in the past now, no need to dwell on it. As you eat a few more hay fries and leave most of the flapjacks untouched you start to wonder if Twilight even knows about your problem. Spike clears the plates in a somewhat better mood, even smiling as you slip him a small ruby you got in your package. Twilight leaves to grab a few things and magically opens the front door, giving you your first look at the new home you would be occupying.
The trees were ripe with apples and the breeze is so much crisper than in the high city of Canterlot. The sounds of fillies and colts running by causes a smile to spread across your tired face. The children are running past with a cherry red mare, and she waves by with a grin as they pass.
She’s cute.
“That’s Cherilee, she runs the local school in Ponyville.” Twilight explains as she comes to your side with a saddlebag full of books and tools.
“Shall we begin?”
You walk behind her as she leads you to the back of the library, revealing a series of strange objects. A large boulder, and from there the things get smaller and smaller leading to a empty table. Twilight trots to the table and dumps the bags contents onto the tabletop, revealing a slice of bread, a knife and needle with a spool of thread.
“Celestia said you have trouble with smaller objects and precise forms of magic, so I think this obstacle course will help with that.”
Well at least she knows what to expect.
You sigh and look at the large boulder before you. In common rules of magic an object can only be moved by how strong the unicorns will and combined physical strength is. A normal unicorn could not even budge the rock with a typical levitation spell.
Good thing you aren’t a normal unicorn.
The boulder becomes enveloped in a subtle white glow and begins to rise off the ground before you grunt and push forward, throwing the incredible sized rock at least twenty yards. Twilight appears a little impressed and takes notes in a notebook, nodding her head as she looks at the next object, a large empty crate. You groan and lift the box with ease, and stop as a splintering sound echoes across the field. The box shudders before snapping into large splinters, falling from your grasp as you try to catch each one.
“Buck it all to hell!”
You release the grasp and drop all of the pieces, cursing continually as you grow embarrassed and angry at your failure.
“Hey it’s alright. I never got a spell first try when I was young.” Twilight reassures.
You calm a bit before trying the same spell on a clay pot, with somewhat better results. The vase cracks along the rim and you are able to set it down without shattering it, and within only minutes of working with growingly smaller objects you can feel the sweat drench your forehead, deep breaths becoming ragged.
“Alright, this is the last challenge, try getting this thread through the eye of the needle.” Twilight urges, seeing how you were able to massacre a loaf of bread and breaking three steel knives. Why did she have such faith in you? Every professor before her gave up or ran when you so much as tried to lift a fork.
You close your eyes and focus as hard as you can, quivering as you move the thread closer and closer to the eye. The first few tries you don’t even get close, and by the end the needle crumples under the pressure into a small bent scrap. You drop it and break down, tears streaming down your face
Failure, just like father said.
“Let’s try something a bit different.” Twilight whispers as she stands in front of you.
You look at her and rub your eyes, watching as she takes off the saddle bag and shakes her self loose for a moment.
“Move me.”
Say what?
Twilight blushes and resumes her stern demeanor.
“I want you to move me over to the table, that’s a good five yards. I read that under pressure a unicorn can accomplish amazing feats of magic.”
“Twilight I can’t… I don’t want to hurt you.”
She closes her eyes and sighs before drawing a deep breath.
“You will do it, or I’ll tell Celestia I can’t help you.”
You lower your head and reach forward tentatively with magic, first wrapping the field around her hooves and then moving up slowly. You can feel her heartbeat race as the field rises and covers her neck, ending at her horn as you begin to focus on raising her. She grunts as you press to hard, and you open your eyes to see you have raised her at least twenty feet off the ground. If you dropped her she would be hurt very badly, so that was not an option.
“You can do it Quill. I trust you.” Twilight whispers as she smiles at you.
You’ll fail her… Just like you failed him.
Not this time
You feel some new kind of emotion that is opening a door in your mind you never knew existed before. A burning driving energy that courses through your horn and into a bright beacon of white light.
In a flash you feel as if multiple things are working in your field of magic, and as fast as the light appeared it vanishes in a small burst, ending you flying back from the shockwave. You open your eyes and see Twilight beaming at you, smiling as she stands triumphantly on top of the table.
“Quill you did it!”
You nod your head and smile weakly before closing your eyes and falling over.
~+~+~+~+~
Well that was exciting.
Pain is the first sense registered throughout your body as you wake up from what must have been shock. The light streaming through the windows suggest the time being close to sunset, and you move with a groan to see where you ended up.
“Glad you woke up, I was about to get Zecora.”
Twilight runs across the room and looks you over, checking for potential injuries you may have sustained.
The concern she is showing confuses you, you could have seriously hurt her and yet she is worried for your wellbeing? Celestia was right, all those stories were right. Twilight is kind, smart, and hell she was cute to boot.
“Thank you.”
She smiles and places a hoof on the edge of the bed.
“Well carrying you up here was pretty easy.”
“Not that. I haven’t done that sort of magic ever. Thank you for teaching me… Thank you for believing in me.”
She blushes and looks away pawing at some unseen object on the floor.
“You did all the work, I just gave you the materials.”
“You did more than that Twilight trust me.”
She smiles one more time before quietly leaving the bedroom, closing the door gently as you look out the window.
Well maybe this wont be all that bad.
You ponder what exactly happened before drawing out a scroll of parchment and levitating a quill to you from the desk. It was time to see if you really had made progress.
Dear Princess Celestia.
I am writing to you… Actually writing. Twilight had prepared a lesson for me today and it was… interesting to say the least. I am happy to announce I have gained better control of my power.
That’s not why I am writing to you however.
I think I have feelings for your student, but I am not entirely sure yet. I would like to ask advice on my next current actions. Also I would like to thank you for sending me to Ponyville, it is much more quiet than the academy.
Sincerely,
Quilliard
“Hey Twilight! Where do I send letters to the princess?” You call.
Twilight comes back with Spike in tow, a scroll rolled up in her grasp as well.
“You wrote a letter to the princess to?” Spike asks in amazement.
“I told her I’d keep her in the loop about my lessons.” You half-lie.
Spike groans and grabs both letters, sending hem away in a burst of green smoke. All three of you stand there in silence waiting for something. Spike continues to tap his foot as Twilight looks one way and you another.
“So if he sends letters from breathing fire from his mouth… Do letters come back from breathing fire from his?”
“NO!” Twilight laughs, along with spike as he rolls on the floor in laughing fits.
This is going to be fun.
Sorry again for deleting the original chapter. I had planned on making this a strict 3 chapter story, but I realized I cant. This will easily be 5 chapters to even 7 chapters. I am thankful to everyone that read and enjoyed. I’ll have Ch. 3 up later on the 23rd with any luck.
The following evening after mailing the letters Twilight asks if you would like to eat out in honor of your first major breakthrough. With a soft blush and a shrug you soon find yourself alone in your bedroom with only your thoughts to keep you company as she gets ready. In only a few hour s Twilight had helped you accomplish something you never had before! Control, mastery of things small as well as large.
What was in her letter?
The thought begins to nag at the back of your subconscious even as the bedroom door opened. You stop dead though as Twilight approaches, something a bit…different about her appearance. She smiles only slightly before looking away, her normally natural hair flow pulled back in a very stylish tail. Her purple and pink scarf found its way to being played with between a hoof in the most playfully nervous way.
“Twilight…Wow.”
She looks at you with wide hopeful eyes and resumes a stern tutor like demeanor before cracking a smile. What in Celestias name had you done to get so lucky? She does a quick little turn and tosses the scarf over her shoulder while laughing quietly.
“Is it too much? I can take it of if you like.”
Oh that sounds good right now.
“Uh…no it’s perfect.”
She smiles again and walks away, looking back at you with a nod of her head.
Stop staring and walk.
You follow close behind, grabbing a hat from Spike as he tosses it to you with a suggestive wink. The beanie slips on without fault, causing you to wonder very briefly on where it came from. Without a second thought you walk to the side of Twilight and give her a playful nudge. She gives you a look that reads “Oh really?” and rolls her eyes with a giggle.
“I’ll race you to the bistro.” you say while pulling the beanie down a little lower.
“Just say when.” Twilight states as she kneels low in a runners stance.
Before you can speak she smiles and dashes forward. You tail after her as fast as you can, but soon find the lean mare before you has an advantage of speed, but you had a few tricks of your own.
“Quill!” She squeals with gleeful laughter as you levitate her off the ground in mid-run.
She pouts as you quickly move in front of her and lean against a mailbox, your horns glow outlining your mischievous grin. She hangs in the air and laughs as you place her behind you and resume the race.
“You never said we couldn’t use magic!” You call behind you.
You make it to the door of the bistro and look back to see Twilight nowhere in sight, but a “humph” attracts your attention to the space next to you.
“Teleportation spell, learned it second year in school.”
“Little cheater.” You tease as you tickle her lightly.
“Whatever. Well here we are, shall we go inside?”
You open the door for her and bow as she passes, stealing as glance at her flank with a smile, pausing as she turns her head slightly with a barely visible blush.
“You coming?” She asks.
“Yeah!”
She leads you past the tables and the other ponies that seem to stare, but you cant seem to tell. She looks around and smiles widely as she spots a blue Pegasus with a small posse with her and waves.
“Rainbow!”
She runs over and talks excitedly to the mare and you begin to recognize others around her. Spitfire, Soarin, and another cream colored pony with a cowboy hat. You walk over and Twilight looks to you, placing a hoof on your back as she addresses Rainbow.
“This is Quill, Celestia sent him to Ponyville to learn more about magic.”
Rainbow raises an eyebrow and offers her hoof out. You pull your back and slam against hers with a loud slam that shakes the other guests watching.’
“What’s up Dash? Heard you swept the competition at the last Young Flyers competition.”
Dash smiles widely and laughs, crossing her hooves over one another.
“I like him I approve.”
Twilight blushes fiercely and hushes her before she can say anymore, and you take a seat next to Spitfire with a shrug and a smile. Spitfire raises and eyebrow as well as she looks you over, a sly grin spreading across her face slowly.
“What’s your name cutie?” she asks, a familiar slur in her voice. You could tell you could tell she was probably a bit inebriated.
“Quill. And I know who you are Spitfire, and the other guy next to Rainbow eating the pie like he would a fine mare must be Soarin.”
Soarin raised his head from his assault on the pie with a cherry splashed grin before returning to his onslaught. Twilight shifts nervously in her seat as she glares at Rainbow, who can’t seem to take her eyes off of you. Finally you decide to be a bit…forward and place a hoof around Twilight, getting a surprised gasp from her.
“And I don’t believe we have met ma’am.” you say as you extend the free hoof to the earth pony, who shakes it rather warmly.
“Names Applejack and it‘s a pleasure to meet ya.”
“You own Sweet Apple Acres?” you ask in order to get some talk out of the steel faced pony.
“Oh apples no, my family works on the far, been in the family fer generations.”
A regular cowpony huh?
“That’s intense!”
Twilight looks at you with a questioning look and then stares down at her water. You bring your lips close to her ear and smile.
“Don’t be shy Twilight.”
She nods her head and looks at you as the others gaze expectantly.
“What did you do besides study magic when you lived in Canterlot?”
Why did she ask that?
“Well I… I read a lot, listened to musicals, went to some raves, and I studied other things…” you say hoping to avoid the subject entirely.
“What other things did you study stud?” Spitfire asks, her head in her hooves with a dreamy look in her eyes.
Well if I tell them it will get her away from me.
“Opera.”
Spitfire spit out what she was drinking onto the table as Soarin stared open mouthed as bits of pie crust fell from it. Applejack was the first to say anything, and that anything turned out to be a loud series of laughs and snorts. Soon all of the others were laughing, even Twilight as she raised a hoof to muffle her laughs.
So that’s how it is huh?
You lower your head and remember that this exact thing had happened since you were nothing but a young colt at the academy…
“Well it was a pleasure meeting all of you goodnight.” You announce with an edge of anger as you leave the table, drawing apologies through the laughter.
You rush out of the building, bumping into a waiter and not even apologizing as you push through the door and walk on an unplanned walk. Every time, EVERY time they would laugh… And why? Because it wasn’t normal for a lower class pony to go to Canterlot with dreams of one day performing in front of the princess herself?
“Quill!”
You stop with a sigh and turn around to see Twilight running after you, a look of worry on her pretty face. She stops to catch her breath and locks her eyes onto yours. If you weren’t so hurt you would have been struck dumb, but being the case you sighed and looked away.
“I didn’t mean to make you feel insulted.” She says softly, picking out her words carefully.
“Nopony ever does, they just do.”
She bites her lip nervously and looks to the sky. She then looks to you and shuffles one hoof before cocking her head to the side.
“Do you like to sing?”
What a stupid question. Yet you feel the honesty in her voice and begin to calm yourself.
“I wanted to since I was a little colt. My father and mother however wouldn’t have it and sent me to the academy. I spent so much time studying I never had time to do what I loved. In the end it just made me so angry, I hated my parents for making me do what they thought was best for me.”
As you look over you see a side to Twilight you had yet too. Her eyes were soft, filled with a mixture of wonder and care as she came a step closer.
“Will you sing for me? If it’s not too much to ask of course.”
You pause and think over what she just asked. She had shown a genuine interest in what you wanted to do and you…hadn’t expected that.
“If you don’t want to it’s fine.” She quickly states before you smile and shake your head.
“Okay.”
“What?”
You look at her and smile brightly as you offer your hoof to hers.
“But I think we should head elsewhere. Spike is probably asleep so where could we go?”
Twilight thought for a moment before nodding her head.
“I can take us to the lake!”
“Perfect.”
Before you can ask which direction is the lake a sudden pop echoes and a bright flash of light envelops you. As the light fades you stand with mouth agape, staring at the expanse of crystal water before you. Twilight bumps you with a mischievous grin and sits on the grass.
“Teleportation spell duh.” She jokes.
“Are you sure you want to hear it? I have been out of practice for a while.”
Twilight waves a hoof and rests her hoofs over one another, watching expectantly.
Well here goes nothing.
The words leave your mouth as clear as the day you learned them.
Come over the hills my bonny Irish Mare,
Come over the hills to your darling.
You choose the rose love and I’ll take the vow.
And I’ll be your true love forever.
Red is the rose that in your garden grows.
Fair is the lily of the valley.
Clear is the water that flows from the void.
And my love is fairer than any.
Twas down by the valleys greenwood that we strayed.
The moon and the stars they were shining.
The moon shone it’s rays upon her golden mane.
And she swore she’d be my love forever.
You stop as the last note escapes your lips effortlessly, and you close your eyes with a deep breath, mind filled with familiar memories of home. A light sniffle stirs you from your daydream and you look over to see Twilight wiping her tear laden eyes with her scarf.
“That was absolutely wonderful I never knew a Stallion could sing with such…emotion.” she says in a whisper.
You sang it because of her.
You wish you could say what your mind and heart are saying, but you know it’s too soon. She is your tutor. You walk over and sit next to her, watching the moons reflection in the water as you hum quietly. Twilight closes her eyes and nuzzles you before snuggling against your side, her head resting on your shoulder as you both watch the lake surface.
“What are you going to do when you finish your lessons here?”
You think briefly on going back to Canterlot, but the idea grows more and more fowl as you feel Twilights warmth.
“I thought I might get a job here in Ponyville and settle down for a while.”
She smiles while leaning against you and sighs contently.
“I would like that Quill. The library could always use another librarian.”
She sits upright with a fierce scarlet blush and looks away.
“If you would like the extra money or even a job you know it would be totally…”
Her rambling stops as you lean over and kiss her on the cheek, no longer caring of what might happen. The seconds pass as you fear rejection, but she just sits there with her eyes wide.
A flash of purple light later and she’s gone.
Leaving you alone at the lake with only the moon as company.
Wow this chapter has been re-written 3 times today! And I now finally can say it’s acceptable. The song used was “Red is the rose.” and I will be using the campus recording studio to get the actual pony version of the song up on you tube in the next month. The song really fit’s the character and the mood (in my opinion.) so hope you all have a great upcoming weekend and I will see ya’ll later.

Fourth Lesson
Well you bucked up major this time.
A blinding memory of your father suddenly plays out in your head, it was your second year at the academy, and you had given a rose and a poem to a little filly you had a crush on. She had received it and then walked away, throwing it in the trash as the other fillies and colts laughed at you.
“Stupid kid, fillies don’t want roses, they want a stallion to sweep them off their feet. You should have been a filly Quill.” Your father chides as he sits on the chair with a bottle in his magical grasp.
“You have a gentle touch! You need a true grip of steel!”
That’s when you swore never to be gentle again.
But Twilight.
Had.
Changed.
You.
You bucked up kid.
You sit on the banks of the lake and stare into the vast nothingness of the night sky. What had you done wrong? All the signs and signals were there. She had been happy to be with you, teasing, flirting, and even not caring when you ogled her flank a few dozen times.
What is wrong with you?
“Good evening Quill.” A voice like spring rain calls from above.
Buck it all to hell.
“Good evening Princess Celestia.”
Celestia descends form the sky and lands with fluid grace next to you, watching as you sigh and scratch the dirt with a free hoof the other cradling your head. She lays on the grass next to you and watches the waves, not saying a single word as you both remain in silence. It didn’t matter that Celestia was there, you felt a million different emotions right now and all of them outweighed the whole royalty shtick. Finally you feel a warm wing embrace you as Celestia looks at you with a smile.
“I was too soft.”
Celestia looks to you and remains a blank faced princess, merely listening to what you had to say.
“All these years and my father is still right. I should have just went in there from the start…”
“But is that you or your father?”
You closed your eyes and buried your head in your hooves.
“I don’t know.”
There is a pause and then Celestia sighs.
“I got your letter by the way.” She starts.
“Great. Are you gonna lecture me on teacher student relations?” you ask melodramatically.
“Quite the opposite. I think that this would be good for Twilight.”
That was the last straw. You stand and appose the easily twice as tall Alicorn and flare your nostrils. Rage, sadness, fear, it was all there but you didn’t even think about it.
“Good for her! Buck it all didn’t you see her leave? She practically couldn’t get away fast enough! And here you are being all goddess and wise trying to tell me what would be good for her when really you have no bucking clue!”
You pant and feel the tears welling up.
“Do you feel better my student?” She asks with a voice as calm as when she arrived.
“No. I just wanna soak up some Applejack Daniels and call it a night.”
Celestia gives you a soft scornful glare and shakes her head.
“Well have you ever thought she just might be scared?”
No.
“Scared? Twilight Sparkle would never be scared. She defeated a goddess, chased away an Ursa Major.”
“Minor” Celestia corrects with a smirk.
“Minor… She has saved Ponyville more times than anyone else, beat back the parasprites, proved she was the strongest magic user in the kingdom, and she successfully accomplished a Winter Wrap up in record time!”
Celestia raises an eyebrow and grins.
“And?”
It hits you like a train. Twilight did all those things… and she helped you find out what you were capable of. She had shown you a magic you never had before.
She had shown you what you were meant to be.
“The magic of friendship.” Celestia whispers as if reading your thoughts.
You choke back a tear and nod your head. Twilight really cared about you. She would never have put herself in harms way unless she did. With this newfound knowledge you puff out your chest and start running.
“Quill? Ponyville is that way.” Celestia states as she points a hoof to the opposite direction.
Derp da derp.
“Perhaps you should wait by the lake.” Celestia says as she stands in your way of Ponyville.
“Stay? Why?”
She merely smiles and nods her head.
“Ever dated a Pegasus?”
“No.”
Celestia shakes her head with a tsk. She then explains to you the concept of wing-boners (Much to your embarrassment and wonder) and then nods her head as she flies into the air. You stand there pondering what that has to do with Twilight disappearing when you hear a voice in the distant woods.
A purple light in the distance grows clearer exposing a panting unicorn as she runs towards you. Twilight smiles widely and you can see marks where tears had formed and run down her face as she ran. She stops short of you and pants loudly, kneeling so she can rest.
“Twilight? What are you doing here?” You ask purely out of logic instead of emotion.
Way to go you unfeeling dolt.
She looks at you and smiles as she wipes sweat from her face, standing tall while trying to stand upright period. With a swift motion she comes to you and wraps her hooves around your neck, breathing in your neck as she cries silently.
“I thought you left.” She whispers.
“Why would I leave? You kind of just teleported away.”
She separates and sits on her flank from exhaustion.
“I was… kind of excited and I tend to do random acts of magic when I’m excited even though I really shouldn’t have been that excited although that was my first kiss except that one time with spike but I was sleep walking and…”
“Whoa slow down! That was your first kiss?”
Twilight's train of thought crashes in a smoldering pile as the color leaves her face. Her pupils became very small and then very wide as she coughed into an invisible handkerchief.
“Well it was the first time a stallion has ever kissed me not saying a girl has but I just… Oh buck it you caught me by surprise. That was way sooner than the book said.”
“The book?”
You laugh as you witness Twilight digging her own grave. The way she stumbles over her normally calculated words and stutters is very cute.
“It said you wouldn’t kiss me till our third or fourth date, and even then I didn’t know if you liked me.” She pauses and bites her lower lip before raising her eyes under her bangs to stare at you.
“Do you like me?”
“Of course I like you Twilight.”
She stands and approaches, her face only a foot away from yours.
“I mean do you like me like me.”
Oh Celestia that’s too adorable.
You raise a hoof and hold her chin so you can move her head closer to yours.
“Yeah. You kind of grew on me in two days, not bad for a teacher.”
She smiles with a laugh and just stares before quietly sniffling.
“I like you too.”
You both sit on the grass facing each other, just staring into each others eyes as you struggle with what to do next. Even you have little clue what to do at this moment. She comes over and lays against you, laying her head on her hooves as she closes her eyes and breathes slowly. The simple gesture the very fact that she was sleeping beside you put your mind to ease. Twilight was here with you and she hadn’t run away. Things were okay.
Guess you should catch some shut-eye too lover pony.
You close your eyes and rest your head over her neck, curling around her to provide her warmth. And as the light of the stars no longer pierce your eyelids you drift off into a deep slumber.
~+~+~+~+~
“I’m very disappointed in you.” your father states as he sits in his old silk chair.
His gray mane is a disheveled mess and his bottle he held the very day you left you left is clutched tightly in his hoof.
“I thought you’d learn from me. I see your still soft as a filly.”
You feel the eyes of disappointment fall on you but a warmth at your side gives you a growing courage.
“You’re wrong dad.”
He looks at you with a snarl and places the bottle on the floor.
“What did you just say?”
You stand taller and your horn glows with a pulsing white light.
“”You’re wrong. I don’t have to be like you to be happy.”
At this point the stands and comes chest to chest with you but he looks smaller.
“I thought I heard you say I was wrong.”
You press against him and push him away as a golden light shines behind you.
“I don’t need you anymore dad. I don’t need your respect, I don’t need your pity, and I don’t need your advice holding me back anymore.”
He looks smaller and more frail each time you take a step forward. Finally he comes back to back with a wall. The graying old pony looks at you with fear in his eyes, like a cat that has no teeth and claws.
“I don’t need you dad I found someone that believes in me.” you say slowly.
He frowns and slips away into the shadows, his once booming and thunderous voice now only a whisper.
“I knew you could do it.” comes an unknown voice behind you.
You turn around and see Celestia and Luna standing next to each other, both wearing wide grins as you approach.
“Princess Luna? Celestia? What are you doing here?”
Luna smiles playfully and cocks her head to the side.
“Dreams are my domain. My sister said tonight you would break down the door that kept you inside a small cage and she wanted to witness it for herself.”
You smile at Celestia as she bows down low.
“You did it Quill.”
“I had help princess. You know more than anyone else.”
She nods her head thoughtfully and conjures a scroll and pen.
“Do you have something you want to write?”
She is insufferable.
“Am I?” She asks with a raised eyebrow.
“Give me that.”
Dear Princess Celestia,
Today I learned that sometimes you can’t plan something. You have to follow what your heart is saying. I learned that you can’t make yourself into anything more than what you were meant to be.
I also learned you are really scary. Not too mention you should probably stay out of my dreams, especially here in a few days.
Your faithful (but scared) student
Quill.
P.s. Tell Luna to stay out of my dreams too.
The scroll rolls up and disappears as well as Luna, leaving you and the princess alone in the void of your dream absent.
“Do you want to know what Twilight asked me?” The sun princess asks with a devilish grin.
You smile and shake your head, looking at a white door as it appears in behind you.
“I think I know princess. Thank you… For everything.”
She nods her head and leaves. The emptiness isn’t unsettling or even frightening. You know that once you open that door a lot of things are going to change.
But that’s alright.
You open the door and walk into the blinding light, never once looking back at what you once were.
~+~+~+~+~
As you open your eyes you notice it is still nighttime, and judging by the position of the moon you believe it to be about midnight. Twilight is looking at you with half-lidded eyes, a smile spreading across her face.
“Good dreams?” she asks.
“Very. Why do you look so happy?”
She giggles and raises a hoof to brush the side of your face.
“I was just thinking about kissing you while you slept.”
“Oh how very creepy, next you’ll tell me you make cupcakes from pony flesh and sell it to unsuspecting customers.”
She gives you disturbed look and then laughs quietly.
“No I would never use pony flesh, now ZEBRA on the other hoof.”
You lean in closer and nuzzle her.
“Do you wanna?”
She blushes and closes her eyes.
“I’m kind of nervous.”
You feel her head press against your and your lips inch closer and closer.
“Don’t be.”
You kiss her gently, feeling the silken touch of her lips against yours. She sighs and closes her eyes, rotating her head to the sides as you both stop breathing entirely as you get lost in each other. It feels right. She smiles as you separate and then grasps the side of your face bringing you in for another kiss. She laughs as she attempts to kiss you harder and you both start laughing even louder.
“That was amazing.” She finally whispers as you nuzzle each other.
It was, but not out of purely carnal reasons. that kiss symbolized a commitment, a bond, a shining beacon of hope for the future. But it also got your blood pumping.
“I know. I was there.”
She elbows you and then smiles widely as she pushes her flank back against you.
“Your poking me Quill.”
2 Am here… I really wanted to write this part before sleep so here it is…
Fifth Lesson
Really sorry about my absence. I took a long time to figure out what to do next. I want to make this a good long story so I decided to add another of my OC's into the story. So enjoy chapter 5 of Study Aid!
You stay nestled against Twilight as she raises her eyebrow and playfully wiggles her flank against you sending small trails of electric wonderment across your lower hips and torso. You playfully nip at her ear and stand, nudging the side of her face gently as she giggles in excitement.
“Never thought I would be swept off my hooves by my own student.” She whispers as she gets to her hooves and pushes you back with an extended hoof.
“I really, REALLY want to take this farther, but I think perhaps we should slow it down… Just a smidge?” She asks with a hopeful glimmer of light to her lavender eyes.
With a sweep of your hoof you slowly push her bangs from her eyes and gaze deeply into her scholarly pools of passion inside a crouching creature of lust and passion was waiting to pounce. But in your heart you knew you could never take advantage of the young protégé no matter how much you wanted too.
“We’ll take it slow. Does that mean I cant even kiss you?” you ask with a sly grin.
At that remark Twilight trails a lingering series of kisses on your neck before raising a hoof to your lips.
“I never said that.”
Hot Damn!
She coyly brushes her tail against your shocked face and begins to walk away, drawing you in like a stallion under her spell. The walk along the beach of the lake is long but more than enjoyable, you find that in the silence you both seem to learn about each other through the way you brush hooves against each other, the way she smells your mane as she rests herself against your side.
“The moon sure is lovely.” Twilight states as she grabs a stone in her magical grasp and slings it across the waters.
You cant help but agree as you too pick a few small stones up and fling them across the crystal surface. The night air soon becomes chilled in the lateness of the evening and you look over to see Twilight Shivering from the sudden drop in temperature. You quickly go to her side and press yourself against her, drawing a gasp from the young mare. With a smile of pure satisfaction she returns the embrace and closes her eyes, nuzzling you as you maneuver her to walk back towards town.
“Come on Twilight you need to get into bed.” You whisper as you walk through the forest with the light of the moon casting eerie glowing trails onto the dirt path.
She hums quietly to herself the entire walk, stopping short of the tree house that was now home. She turns to you with a fierce blush and trails a hoof against yours.
“I really want to say something. The book said to wait till the fifth date but I kind of…” she pauses and smiles shyly.
“I want to invite you to my room for the night.”
Your heart leaps to the thought, as well as other body parts, as she speaks the words. With a heavy heart and an arguing mind you lean in and kiss her slowly, drawing back only to open the door.
“I want it to be truly special. I think it would be best if we took some time to get to know each other better.”
She smiles widely as if you said the exact thing she wanted to hear. You both walk side by side into the living room and you watch as she walks upstairs. She stops at the top step and looks behind her shoulder with a half-lidded gaze and tosses the scarf to you with a wave of her glowing horn.
“I cant wait for that moment quill.” She barely whispers in a tone as husky as the most experienced lover.
You shiver and fight back the urge to run after her and show her how strong your magic REALLY is. But you want it to be special, you want her to be the one, and you want to be ready. You climb onto the couch and cuddle with the scarf, inhaling the scent of her as you close your eyes and drift of into the most peaceful sleep you have ever experienced.
~The next morning~
“Good morning student.” Comes the familiar alluring voice of Twilight.
You wake up and groggily rub your eyes and smile as she plants a soft quick kiss against your cheek.
“Good morning Teacher.” You say with an edge of lust.
She winks at you and hovers a plate of hay cakes and apple cider. The scent is nothing short of intoxicating as you lick your lips, drops of drool hitting the plate as she teasingly draws it away from you.
“Don’t tease a hungry stallion Twilight, you just might get bit.”
“Now that’s an enticing thought.” She says with a wink.
“Oh brother.” Spike grumbles as he inhales a jewel. His look clearly defined his un-amusement.
You both laugh as the teasing continues and draws the more erotic side to each of you. Finally after some rough housing you find that you have somehow tackled Twilight to the ground and you hover over her with a hungry grin.
“Oh what will you do now Quill?” She asks while fluttering her eyelids.
You lean down and quickly snag a hay cake from the plate above her head and steal a bite before getting off of her.
“I think I’ll eat now.” you laugh.
A knock at the door draws you both from your flirtatious endeavors and Spike grabs the door handle with a grumble. As soon as he opens the door however he finds his jaw dropping and his tongue hanging out as Rarity stands in the entryway with a pony behind her.
“Hello Spikey-Wikey.” she baby talks with a nuzzle to the young dragon.
He passes out on the floor with a laugh from her as she comes in with two ponies in tow, one slender white unicorn mare with blue and neon hair, her eyes hidden behind bright purple shades, and another stallion you suddenly recognize.
“Silver Pipes? Is that you?” You ask with growing astonishment.
The white stallion whips a bang from his eye and suddenly smiles, pushing his black rimmed glasses up his face with some effort. He comes over and brohoof you before giving you the tightest of bro-hugs.
“Quill, I haven’t seen you since Academy! How the hell have you been doing?” He asks excitedly, nodding his head back to the mare that conversed with Twilight.
“I’ve been doing good… Wait is that… Is that Vinyl Scratch!?” You ask with growing astonishment.
Sure enough Vinyl breaks her conversation with Twilight and walks over extending a hoof to you while smiling sweetly. You shake it still unbelieving. Vinyl was supposed to be on tour to all the hottest clubs in Equestria, what was she doing here? And why was she with your dorky friend from Academy?
Silver Pipes was the only good friend you ever knew. He was two grades ahead of you in geography and musical studies, which gave meaning to his name and cutie mark.. The cleft note shone proudly from his flank as he bumped up against vinyl drawing a sly grin from her as two red iris peered over her shades.
“Not now Silver.” she whispers huskily.
“We were hoping to borrow some books from the library and I never thought I’d see you here with the one and only Twilight! It’s an honor to meet another element of harmony.” He says while taking her hoof in his and kissing it lightly.
“Well we have books of all kinds here, what can I get you?” She asks through a blush.
“Well I need a book on Rhyme Schemes and Miss Scratch… Well she better tell you in private.” He says with a raised eyebrow at the young white mare next to him.
Twilight nods her head and walks away with Vinyl in tow, leaving you and Silver alone in the library main corridor.
“Tell me everything.” you say excitedly drawing a wide grin from Silver.
“Nope you first. How did you end up with Twilight Bucking Sparkle? You must be the luckiest Stallion in all of Equestria!”
You swell up with pride and smile, looking over at Twilight as she suddenly turns bright red at Vinyl’s request.
“Well we just kind of hit it off. She is my tutor for my magic studies.”
Silver raises and eyebrow and peers over his glasses.
“Uh huh… and what OTHER kinds of studies?”
Wow he’s forward.
“We haven’t done any of that… Yet.” You manage to whisper for fear of the mares hearing you.
Silver laughs and pats you on the back, his eyes narrowing at Vinyl.
“She was my first and hopeful last. I tell you last night we tried this new move called Apple Bucking, by Celestia the things that mare can do with her legs.” He says with a growl.
“Are you serious?” you ask wide eyed.
“Eeyup. In fact we were hoping to find a certain kind of book while we were here.”
“Oh?” you manage to squeak as Twilight looks around and pulls a dusty book from the highest shelf of the book rack.
“You find it love?” silver asks over his shoulder, watching as Vinyl makes her way back with book in tow. Her flank bobs as if listening to a silent beat as she stands next to Silver with a glimmer in her eye.
“Twilight had it alright, looks like tonight we see how flexible you are.”
Silver nods his head and kisses her on the cheek. Apparently not enough for her she leans over and nibbles at his neck, drawing a groan from the chiseled stallion.
“Not here love, we gotta invite my friend to dinner. I bet Octavia never got the chance to talk to the Twilight Sparkle.”
Vinyl appears to way the options of getting a one up ion Octavia and spending special time with Silver before nodding her head.
“All right, where we gonna eat?” She asks with growing excitement.
“I’m feeling fattening food with strong cider.” You say.
Twilight smiles and nods her head.
“It will be a double date!”
Silver does a air fist hoof and smiles.
“Hell yeah! The fun has been doubled!”
Little did you know exactly what that entailed…
