"The Orks, such a foul race of brutes. Our Kroot hunting partys are still finding groups of them in the forest even today. Sadly, none have willingly surrendered themselves to the Greater Good, leaving us with little option but to wipe them from the forests of this whole wounded planet. Still, If the Kroot and Vespid were willing to turn aside selfish intentions in light of the Tau'va, there must be some small amount of hope for even the Be'gel. Aur'ocy shath'r'i tskan sha Tau'va."
"Thanks Mister Turner. This new hourglass is just what the I needed!" Pinkie waved back to the stallion behind the desk as she walked out the front door. "We just couldn't make good pastries ever since the last one broke!"
It was another wonderfully cool morning on the streets of ponyville. And Pinkie Pie was humming through the streets doing her morning errands before Sugercube Corner opened. Bakers were warming up their ovens and shop stands were being rolled out onto the roads. Young colts and fillies were making their way to school. She would've loved to slow down and truely enjoy the fine morning but it would be rude to keep the Cakes waiting.
"Now, what's next on the list?" Pinkie pulled a roll of paper out of her satchel and skimmed it over. "Hmm, looks like thats just about it besides milk and flour, Off to Applejack's it is then!"
As Pinkie was bouncing down the street toward Applejack's she noticed Twilight aways ahead of her, after quickening her pace she caught up to Twilight in a matter of moments. "Hiya' Twilight!"
"Oh, hello Pinkie. I didn't notice you there." Twilight was reading a large dusty tome that glowed a faint purple and walking down the road at the same time. While multitasking was something even Pinkie could do easily, she didn't understand how Twilight could stand reading such boring old books when there was so much more fun to be had enjoying the day.
"Where' you headin' today, Twilight? And what'cha reading? "
"I was going to Applejack's to try a recipe I found in this apothecary book I found in the library basement." Twilight waved the book in front of Pinkie's face for a moment before returning it to her own.
"Some of the ingredients it called for seemed very strange. Ranging from old yellow apples, and dried rutabagas. It's fascinating what odd ingredients they used in medicine back then, isn't it Pinkie?"
Pinkie face convulsed at the mear mention of it. "Yuck! That almost sounds like the same stuff I used in a prank muffin some mare asked me to make once. She said it was "To get back at the docter for all he'd put me through without so much as a first date!" And if I know medicine, it'll taste AWFUL!"
"If you think that is bad, then remind me to to show you what they used Leeches for later on." Twilight chuckled, giving Pinkie a mischievous grin.
"L-leeches?" Pinkie shivered at the thoughts creeping into her mind. "What in Lunas name would you use leeches for? AH! I take it back! I don't want to know!"
"Don't worry, I wont indulge you with such knowlage. What I will do, is ask if you could help me with my studies in another book I'm looking into."
"First things first. Whats the book about? I need to know what I'm getting into with you before I agree to anything, you know? Ever since last time?"
"Ohh, don't remind me..." Twilight shuddered at the remembrance. "But don't worry this will be nothing like that. It's just a book that talks about the subtle magics that everypony has flowing through them."
"Well in that case, Sure thing Sparky! But i have to ask. Why me?"
Well, it's mostly because of your "Pinkie Sense" that I picked you, I'm wanting to look into how you managed to tap into such magics as an earth pony, no offense. The book also mentioned something about possible spirit plains being a big part of our powers. But I was to busy with more practical things and didn't have the time to read that deep into it at the time."
"i thought you were done trying to figure out my Pinkie Sense Twilight. And that there are some things is this world that even your science can't explain."
"My latest findings prove otherwise. Besides, who knows what untold surprises await us. we might even unlock previously unknown powers in all ponies everywhere! Oh, just think of the potential, Pinkie!"
"I am, and, it's sort of...making my...head...hurt." Pinkie's words were getting disjointed and faint.
"Well don't hurt yourself silly. Even I'll admit, it's not interesting enough to get injured over."
"Twilight...I-I can't...continue..."
"Pinkie, what's wrong? Twilight looked up from her book and turned to where Pinkie had been walking beside her. She was laying on her side with her forhoofs wraped around her head, her body shivering uncontrollably and convulsing at random.
"Oh, ow, owie, My head, it's killing me. Mff, it hurts bad!"
"PINKIE!" Twilight droped her book and ran to Pinkies side. "Ohmigosh! Pinkie, What happened? Are you hurt? Can you speak?"
"Hngh, agh! Make it stop Twilight, oh, make it stop!" Pinkie was tearing up, the pain she was in looked extreme, like every passing moment the pain was somehow getting worse, her face had gone pale and she was breaking out into a cold sweat.
"I'm here Pinkie. Oh, Celestia. Try not to move!" Twilight was doing her best to stay calm, but even she was having troubles holding back the tears. desperately she glanced around, looking for anyone that might have noticed the scene unfolding before her. but what few ponies she saw seemed to be panicked and running in random directions.
"Waahaha! I-it's like a giant no fun brain freeze of nail ice cream!" Pinkie cried, her whole body was going pale and her eyes were fogging over.
"Ohmigosh, H-HELP! Oh, somepony, get help! I don't want to leave her side, and I'm too scared to move her!" Twilight stamped her feet in panic and franticly looked around but nopony was within eye sight anymore.
"T-twi..."
"Oh Luna's sake! What is it that's so important, Pinkie! I don't want you over exerting yourself!"
"Twitchy...Tail..."
"W-what?! What are you talking about?" Slowly and painfully, Pinkie pointed past Twilights head toward to sky. Suddenly Twilight realised what everpony was running from, how could she not have noticed it sooner? The sound like thunder, and the very ground she was standing on shaking as though in fear. Reluctantly she turned toward what Pinkie was pointing at. An impossibly huge mass of indescribable shape and proportion made of red, burning metal was falling from the sky. Right. Towards. Ponyville.
"Wha-what the heck is that thing? It's going to crush the whole town!"
"D-do something...silly..."
"Ah! What? Are you crazy? W-what am I suppose to do? That thing is huge!"
"You're the m-master...of the magical stuff. Figure something out..."
The Kaptin sat on the bridge of his personal Rokkit, a beast of a vessel that reflected it's Kommana well. Massive, heavy hittin, and fast. Of course, it was none other than Warlord Gorgutz 'Ead 'Unter in the Kommanda seat, sitting quietly and watching the blue and green rok on his viewscreen intently as it quickly got bigger. To either of his sides sat his seconds in command, an Ork Nob known as Glazjaw and a Ork Mek Boy known as 'Ardbolt.
"Urm, boss, the ship took quite ah beatin' from dem Bludd Raiv'nz and I don't fink the ship'll hold up fer da landing!" Glazjaw cried, holding onto his seat for dear life and watching in horror as the planet quickly filled the viewscreen.
"Boss! Are ya 'earin me? Da ship's bloody coming apart, we's all gonna die!" Glazjaw could feel every moan and groan the rokkit made as it was hurled toward the planet, it was a strange feeling for him, he hated being in anything airborn, much prefering to keep his boots in the mud, yet right now an airborn vessel was bringing him to new mud. To put simply, his little Orky mind was very confused for the moment.
"Aw, shut yer maw and quite yer squigglin, Glazjaw! I can't fly over all dat racket you's making! I'll have ya on da ground fasta' if ya' stop cry'n and get ta' nav'gatin. WAAHOOO!" The deranged 'Ardbolt bawled happily behind his controls as the rokkit plummeted toward the unknown planet before them.
"Euh, we're breach'n da' outa'most'fear. Boss, ya really fink we's got enough boys fer anuvver planet raid?"
"It's not the numba of boyz ya' got that counts, it's how good ya' use them." Gorgutz snorted in response as he scanned the planet with his cybork eye. "Run in and chop dem where it hurts, then git, before they know what hit em."
After a few moments of silence with only the sound of the rokkits fifty some engines roaring (silent for Orks) the rokkit broke through the cloud layer, Gorgutz finally got a good view of the land and could plan his next stage of attack.
'Ardbolt on the other hand was used to either of only two scenarios, one where the Hummies can see you when your still in space and are blowin' chunks off ya on the way down. and two, when da Hummies can only see you after your under the cloud layer, and they start blowin' chunks off you.
"Ah ha ha, They's not even shootin' at us! Dis hunk of scrap must be more sneaky then I thought!"
"Pilot, quite yer yamma'n and land us in dat sparkly white castle. I's gonna make it my stagin point!"
"Erm, no can do boss, dis fink went practically au'ta pilot afta we broke the outa'most'fear. We's coming in to hot'n'fast, da best I can do is dat runty hummie town."
"Bah, what do I keep ya's round for, if yah can't make one simple maneuver? Dem hummies betta give me a good fight or it's your 'ead on me stikk ya hear?"
"Got it, Boss..." 'Ardbolt turned a few nobz and mashed a few buttonz, and a microphone dropped from the ceiling and dangled in front of Gorgut'z face.
"Oi, ready the trukks lads, we's about to hit land, I expect more than 'alf of you to survive if you follow my orders. That means more shootin' when I tell you to, and le- WHAT THE NAME OF MORK IS DA-"
The sounds that followed went something like, CRUNCH! GRIND! WHAM! As the vessel hit a giant purple bubble that had suddenly appeared from nowhere, followed by the wrecked hull grinding along the sleek bubble untill it sliped off the side and smashed into a grass field beside the town.
"Wha-WHAT HAPPENED?!" Glazjaw glanced around the wreak that was formerly the bridge, granted it would not have passed human standards before, but now it was beyond use even for an Ork. "BOSS? Y-you dead?"
"Of course i'm not dead! It will take more then dis ta kill me." Gorgutz pulled a piece of shrapnel out of his gut and turned to 'Ardbolt. "Get dat speaka system up and give me a damage report! I wanna know whats where."
'Ardbolt grabed up the mic from the ground and waddled over to his console. Somehow in good old Orky fassion, it was still working even after the crash. "Listen up runts! da boss wants a damage report! So Nobz, get to ya squak boxes and tell us who's not dead and what's not broke!"
"Bzzt" Da Squig storage broke on impact. The little things are loof in da engine room and dey's eating up my Gretchin! The Engine room Mekboy hollered over the roar of the still active engines.
"Chrrk" Oi! All me Squigs are gone! I looked away fer one moment and da buggas bolted into a cracked vent! Oh! The lil finks are probably scared, cold, and hungry!" Cried the Squig herder who feared the worst for his little Squigs.
"Vzzm" Erm, the starboard side of da ships gone! Dats were I kept my killa kans and trukks!" roared an angry Mecha Nob.
"Fchhn. It's not gone ya squat! I can see it just slid ta da uvver side of da purple blob! See? Dey's even wavin back! came the voice of a Stormboy Nob who had managed to get to the top of the smoldering wreck that was once Gorgutz' Rokkit.
'Ardbolt clicked a few switches and pulled a lever and the speakers went silent. slowly he turned to Gorgutz. He was quite the inspiring Ork Warlord. Somehow wherever he went he always had a gift for quickly pulling Orks together under one flag. Even considering how many times his Waaagh! had been utterly cruched, he always managed to pull another together.
"All good boss. dis landin went even smootha den da last une."
"Then suit up, rally da boyz and meet me outside. I gots a town ta smash and people to kill. And I don't gots all day."
"Mnyuh, oh, I-I can't beleve that worked! Twilight was breathing and sweating heavily after pulling a town wide bubble shield. Making the shield wasn't the hard part, making it hold up against the hulking mass was. "What was that thing?"
"I dunno...but-"
"Ah! Rhetorical question! Rhetorical question!" The last thing Twilight wanted was Pinkie trying to talk after such an event.
"It's okay...i'm feeling...a little bit...better now..." Pinkie wimpered, secretly trying to make Twilight feel better. However she was still unable to hold back the tears, so Twilight didn't buy it for long.
"Woah, holy cow patty! Did you see that thing Twilight?" A voice shrieked from above Twilight in a slightly raspy, squeaky tone. "That thing nearly gave the whole town first class tickets to Tartarus!"
When Twilight looked up, she had no idea how happy she would be to see the full colour spectrum. "Rainbow Dash! Oh thank goodness you're here!"
"Yeah well, you're horn makes a really good signal flare. I bet even the ponys in Canterlot are wondering whats going...on....about.....now. What the hecks wrong with Pinkie? She looks like death rolled over."
"I DON'T KNOW! She just collapsed from some unknown pain moments before that, that, that THING nearlly killed us all!" Twilight droped onto her rear and started whiping the sweat and tears from Pinkie's face she was paler than she had been a mere minute earlier. "Why do I feel like somepony is playing a cruel joke on me? I feel so helpless..."
"Calm down girl. I'm here now." Rainbow Dash landed beside Twilight and placed a hoof on her shoulder. "Just, take a deep breath, collect your thoughts and tell me what I can do to help."
"W-well..we should go see if anypony else is hurt, but, I don't want to leave Pinkie alone." Twilight bit her lower lip in fear as terrible thoughts filled her mind. She looked down at Pinkie. She was still breathing, that much Twilight was sure of, But she felt horrid only being able to watch her friend suffer, and not be able to do anything about it.
"Got it, go find a Doctor and bring him here. I'll also alert the other elements, tell them where to find you alright?"
"Okay." Twilight sniffed, watching Rainbow Dash unfurl her wings and prepare for take off. "Just hurry back...please."
Rainbow Dash turned back to Twilight and gave her a calm smile. "Hey, you know me. Ten second flat right?" Twilight returned the smile before turning her attention back to Pinkie. And with a powerful flap of her wings Rainbow Dash shot into the air.
"Yeah, I know." Twilight whispered, putting a hoof on Pinkie, trying to help comfort her through the shivering. "Hang in there Pinkie. I fear things are going to get worse before they get better."
"Ah, I...knew you'd say...that!"
