CHAPTER 3
A nightmare broken into a dream

I woke up to the sound of a blaring alarm i quickly shut it off afraid of startling Vinyl.
I looked at the clock and then the calendar.
My eyes widened
"Oh no OH NO NONONONO" i screamed as i ripped my way out of my sheets
Vinyl woke with a fright
"WHATS WRONG!"
"Im late, im never late!"
"Late to what?" she asked now annoyed of being woken
"My concert for the mayor and all the high people in town!"
"Oh..."
I grabbed my chello and practiclly bust down the door still looking horrible and sprinted as fast as she could to town hall.
By the time she got there she was sweaty covered in dirt hair messed up panting for air and besides her attempt of sprinting she still managed to be ten minuets late.
She walked in her head down afraid of embarrassment.
They looked PISSED.
The first person to break the silence after Octavia had set up was the mayor.
"You know this was supposed to be a thirty minuet private concert?"
I nodded
"Now i want an explanation for why you were late, don’t take too long i want to hear good music to calm my nerves."
"Well its just that I had a long day yesterday shopping cooking and taking care of my roommate who cut herself my apologizes."
"Well this better be good then.” said one of the higher class ponies in the crowd
As I began i immediately noticed something was wrong.
Horribly wrong.
I was in too much of a rush to tune the chello.
I looked up and noticed they all were about to explode with anger.
The mayor looked me in the eyes and said
"We waited ten extra minuets to hear this horror? GET OUT!"
I started tearing as i picked up my chello forgetting the case and walked out as i got into the streets I couldn’t contain it any longer I heard the mayor's words again and just let it all out as i ran home my face in my mane.
I opened the door slowly and saw Vinyl heating up some of last night’s carrot soup.
"Hey Octavia how'd it g-"
I was still crying as loud as i could and ran to the sofa and berried my face as deep as i could into the pillows to keep Vinyl from hearing me choke out tears.
She rushed over and sat down next to me and put a hoof on my back
"What’s the matter?"
I looked up from my pillowy cave and hugged her hard and cried out.
"Oh it was horrible not only the fact I was ten minuets late but i looked horrible my hair still all bed mane and sweaty and covered in dirt and I forgot too tune it!"
Vinyl looked down then returned her gaze to me.
"You know what buck them. If they're gonna treat you like that they don’t need your awesome ability."
I let go of my hug and looked her in the eyes.
"You think so?" I barely choked out
"I know so."
That’s when my feelings took over i closed my eyes and slowly forced myself to connect my lips with her.
Her lips were so soft and smooth.
I held the kiss together for a while and then slowly realized that Vinyl was taking over!
She slowly lowered me onto my back and kissed my all over starting from my mouth down to my neck then to my stomach then well... you know where.
It was like a dream come true!
I let out a quiet yet loud enough to hear moan.
Vinyl looked up and asked, "You like?"
I nodded and closed my eyes again and let her do the work.
But almost as quickly as it started I noticed she stopped I opened my eyes to see Vinyl was just sitting there looking kind of sad.
I got up and asked, "What’s wrong Vinyl?"
She looked at me with tears in the eyes "Don’t you mean what’s up, what was that all about Octavia?!"
I looked down guiltily
"I mean i can’t have just had sex with my best friend."
"Vinyl..."
She looked at me with the saddest look on her face.
"You see- I looked away "You see ever since we met I noticed something in you I haven’t noticed in any other pony, I saw myself we connect we have so much in common I was afraid to tell you because i was afraid you’d say no."
"So your saying- she started
I finished for her "I love you..."
