I was always good with a rifle. Since I was a kid, I was a crack shot. I could hit a target from a mile with near perfect accuracy. I joined the army, and I was put to good use. I moved up the ranks pretty quickly, and was put into a special program. I was given prototype weapons and gear, and did some very sensitive work. Then, the world started breaking apart. World War 3 started. No one used nukes... at the beginning. I did a few missions, and killed certain targets. Then, on my way back from a mission, the bombs dropped. They devastated our planet, and we lost everything. The world fell into a nuclear winter within minutes, and the Earth began to die within hours. The electro-magnetic shockwaves knocked our craft back to earth, into one of the relatively 'uncontaminated' areas. I salvaged the cryo-units from the ship, and I hauled them inside one of the few remaining structures.

And then, I froze myself, weapons, gear, and all.
