Chapter 2: Switching Sides

It was now the day he would have to leave Twilights house, and kill Twilight herself. His wing felt better, even though he never felt any pain from it. His stomach though, had gotten better. Since he'd waited to long to get help, he wasn't able to eat for a few days. He planned to move today, though. The only problem he had was... her horn. She specialized in magic. If I could tear her horn off.. He thought. It didn't matter though, since his plan needed to go in action today.

Today at midnight, the exact time. He had to go and see somebody today, somebody he couldn't wait to see die.. but he wasn't strong enough yet. He didn't win the race, yet. Though, without knowing it, his mind traced back to that night..

"It's my business..." He had told them.

"Shadow Fade, you don't realize what will-"

"I'll complete it.. the race."

"Fade you're not strong enough.. You'll die."

He smiled at the thought of them saying that.

"I'm already dead. I'll take the race, and I'll end it. Do you want to still stick with me? Or do you want to be like the others?"

"Go son. Go. I guess it's only right, since you and your sis-"

Fade could suddenly remember the chill his sisters name produced. He could also remember when fear held him. He hadn't completed the "race". He had failed on his behalf. He had completely forgotten about it, or tried to. He could suddenly feel him hugging himself. I have to move.. now. He thought. It would be best for him, and he could feel the ruthlessness even though he knew he didn't have a soul.

He needed a reality check. Yes, he did have to move. Right now. As he got out of his bed, he saw the moonlight shine on his back. He tried to sneak out, but his hooves where too loud.

He felt satisfied when he saw the castle rise out of the midnight air. It almost stood there, mocking him. He climbed the steps, leading into the gates.

"No access at this time. Sorry, sir." A Royal Guard said.

Fade just said three words, and he was allowed access. He used the three words he didn't like to use though, and even just saying them, it made him want to climb out of his skin. Though, he was led to Celestia's throne. She seemed to be talking to Luna, her sister. Though, she seemed to sense him. He grinned.

"Good to see you're doing fine." He faked a bow.

"Luna. Leave. Now." Luna didn't even waste a second. An angry sister that could control the sun, not even a choice.

"Y-y-you.." She said, in anger, hatred, and concern.

"Yes. I've returned.. Sad to say, you know, I don't want to call you-"

"Don't. You've sword down the-"

"Oh I have, right? After I killed those innocent people.. Just to see if you was a threat. You didn't even try."

Celestia grew uncomfortable. "Does your sister know.. Have you told her?"

He looked at his hooves. "I'm not sure.. does she? Did she find out on her own?"

"Fade. We cannot risk this. It isn't a game."

"No. But I don't won't her to find out. Do you want that, Mother?" The question seemed to take Celestia off guard. He continued, "What will you do? Nothing. That's why I've come here. To take the throne."

Celestia eyes lit up with hatred. "You won't win the race. And you won't kill her."

"You see mother, I've already won the race. I only need one more person. You can think, and decide if you'd be that person."

He turned to go. But suddenly, he realized he made the decision for her: She  was useless. He suddenly started laughing, laughing at his Sadism, his mother, his prison, and anybody else who thought they could stop him.
