Chapter 1View OnlineLemons Life.Chapter 1No pony would look at me. No pony loves you. Every time I try to do something nice, they ignore me. They don’t really care for you. …….is my life really worth anything? Your life is worth nothing to any pony. Lemontop opened his eyes to gaze at the ceiling for the sixth time tonight. This was a normal thing for the past few months, he wouldn’t be able to sleep, start thinking too much and keep himself awake by asking himself questions that he didn’t have the answer to. But the questions all started the same. Why? Why didn’t he hang out with any pony? Why didn’t they ask to hang out? Why couldn’t he get a mare friend? Why didn’t any pony want him? He never game any pony a reason to hate him, or even disapprove of him. But at the same time he didn’t give any pony a reason to like him either. He didn’t greet new ponies or even say hello. If some pony trotted up to him he would wear his fake smile and say he was busy. “Well it seems im not going to get any sleep tonight.” He moved the covers off of him and headed towards the door. “I guess I can work on my alchemy, you can never be too good I guess.” He shut his door and entered his hallway. His hallway was a bit long, but having a big house makes everything else big too. The house he lived in he made himself, It wasn’t always this big, but over the years that he became more skilled with his alchemy, he made additions. He trotted down the stairs and looked out side. The sun was rising and the sky was grazed with beautiful hues of orange, yellow, and purple. He couldn’t help but have a small smile as he passed the window, its not every day he say something this beautiful, besides some of the mares in town. His smile quickly turned into a frown, remembering that mares were never interested in him and the reason he wasn’t sleeping right now. He trotted down the basement stairs and flicked on the lights. The room lit up and he had no choice but to cover his eyes. After his eyes were used to the light he trotted over to a mirror and gazed at his reflection. He wasn’t big but at the same time he wasn’t small, he didn’t have a heavy muscle set either but when you don’t like to fight you don’t really need it. His maroon red coat was a little dirty since he hadn’t yes taken his shower, and his bright blond mane was now dark with dirt. “Wow, I didn’t think I was that dirty, I think I can work on my alchemy later, right now I need a bath. He trotted upstairs and flicked the lights as he shut the door. He trotted back upstairs and into his bath room. He tuned on the water and stepped into the shower. He relaxed his muscles and lost himself in though again, but this wasn’t about his present, but about his past, and how he ended up the way he was. “C’mon Lemontop! You’re so slow!” “Wait for me Shadow Heart! Cant you slow down! “Nope! Sorry but you need to go faster!” Shadow Heart And Lemontop ran towards the Everfree forest. “Shadow wait!” Lemon grabbed onto Shadows tail with his teeth and stopped moving, trying to get Shadow to stop as well. “What the hay brony! What’s gotten into you? Let go of my tail!” He stopped and pulled his tail out of Lemons mouth. “Shadow I don’t think we should go in there, We don’t know what could happen.” “Oh stop your worrying. Me and you are to strong to beaten by anything and you know that.” He punched Lemon in the arm with quite a bit of force, but Lemon just stood there like nothing happened. “I know me and you are strong but we still cant do everything. Just trust me on this.” Shadow stopped and thought about what Lemontop said. This was the usual when Shadow and Lemon would hang out together. Shadow would always have some crazy idea and Lemon would try to talk him out of it. Lemon usually got Shadow to listen to him and the problem would be over. But then there were the time when Shadow just didn’t listen. “Hmmmm…..Nah! Lets go!” Shadow Jumped into the forest calling out for Lemon to fallow. “Why can’t he ever just listen to me?” Lemon muttered before quickly running after Shadow. Lemon trotted slowly through the Everfree, he couldn’t see anything in this dark, and he lost Shadow a few minutes ago. “Shadow! Where are you!” “Ahhhhhhhh!” There was a blood curdling scream not far from where Lemon was. “Shadow!” He ran towards where he heard the scream and stopped dead in his tracks when he got there. There, in the jaw of a large Timber wolf, was Shadow, his blood covering the muzzle of the timber wolf and the ground below. “L-lemon……help me….” Lemon became enraged and reached into his saddle bag, he pulled out a piece of paper and slammed it on the ground. The ground formed into large spikes that pierced the wolfs leg. The wolf howled in pain and dropped Shadows limp body to the ground, He glared at Lemon with eyes that seemed to be able to burn though metal. Lemon threw in bags on the ground and pulled out several pieces of paper. “Ok c’mon stink breath, come and get some fresh meat!” The timber wolf lunged towards Lemon with jaws wide and ready to clamp down on his neck. Lemon jumped up and slammed a piece of paper to the timber wolfs neck. The timber wolf slammed to the ground, with its neck in pieces. “Shadow! C’mon buddy get up!” Lemon ran to Shadows side and held him in his hooves, his body was cold. “Th-that was great L-lemon….but I would have……done better.” He forced a smile on his trying not to worry Lemon, but Lemon knew how bad it was. “Hold on Shadow, we need to get back to town.” He stated to lift Shadow up before Shadow placed a hoof to Lemons chest. “No…..I’m not going…..to make it…..and you know that. Here….go into my…..saddle bag and grab the small black pouch. I want you to keep it……and never let anything happen to it. You understand?” Tears began to form in Lemons eyes. He watched as Shadow suffered, not being able to die, but he wouldn’t be able to live either. “Shadow…..don’t go…..don’t leave me…” “Lemon…..I need you to do……one thing for me.” “Anything, what is it?” “I need you……to finish me……please…” Lemon eyes widened and the tears flowed out, he didn’t even try to stop them, he never though that his best friend would go like this. “C’mon Lemon……I know your stronger than that…..wipe your baby tears.” “I wont kill you Shadow, I wont be able to live with myself….” “Stop being a baby! Do you really want to see me suffer like this!” Lemon stared at Shadow, he reached into his bag and pulled out a black piece of paper, and gently placed it on Shadows chest. “Im sorry Shadow, I wish I didn’t have to do this…” “Don’t worry Lemon…..I want this……do it.” “…….Goodbye……Shadow Heart…..” Lemon gently placed his hooves on the paper and pressed down. Small sparks flew around, then Shadow was still. Lemon placed his head to Shadows chest, and cried the night away.
Chapter 2View OnlineLemons Life.Chapter 2Lemontop opened his eyes when he started to shiver, he had stayed in the shower so long he used all the hot water. “Th-this is why I try not to think in the shower.” He turned the water off and stepped out onto the floor. He grabbed a towel and started drying off his mane. “I have a lot more hair than I though……I think I need a haircut….” He dried off his body and tossed the towel in a basket that was off in the corner. He reached into a drawer and pulled out a brush. He quickly brushed his hair and exited the bathroom. He trotted down stairs and into the kitchen, he didn’t eat anything yesterday, he was too focused on the things he was doing. He had no time to eat with the schedule he had. But he knew he had to eat at some point, otherwise he would die, not that he cared weather he lived or died, but he did want to get things done before he died. Right now Lemon had nothing he had to live for, but he didn’t want to just kill himself no, he had no reason to live, but he no reason to die either. To Lemon, death was just another part of life, a new chapter, or even a new story. Lemon was always interested in the world of death, what was it like? Are you still…..you, in the world of death. “Alright, I need to stop thinking for a while, I cant even get the simplest of tasks done without making it take hours to finish. My mind is too complex for my own good…..” He griped his chest, and fell to his knees, after what he did a few years ago, this happened every so often. He had a friend named Love Heart, she was such a sweet mare, one of the greatest friends he ever had, she had a spell that would dull the pain to almost nothing, but she moved away, she still wrote to him, just like she promised. “Gah! Man this hurts, maybe there is a unicorn some where in town that can help me, there was a mare that I herd was very powerful when it comes to magic, what was her name……Twi……Twilight Sparkle!” As he got up he started to lose himself in thought again, he continued to walk towards town, but he didn’t feel like he was in control. He felt like some pony was using his body. But that just made it easier to drift away in thought. “Lemon, I know what happened was terrible, but, I think you really need to…..move on.” Her angelic voice rang in my head, the voice of Love Heart could calm me at anytime, other than now. Now her words stung, like she put salt in my fresh wounds. “…..What do you mean…..move on……forget about…..Shadow?” “No no, not forget, but you need to stop grieving, its been months. You don’t do anything anymore, the only reason you eat is cause I come over here. This needs to change.” “But you of all ponies should know how close me and Shadow were, he was better than a brother, he was one of the few ponies who understood me…..and now your all I have left….Im sorry that you have to come here all the time, its probably such a bother to you….” “What? No, I love coming over here and seeing you, or um…..I mean I uhhh…..” She gently blushed as her ears fell back and she looked away. Lemon would have said something but he wasn’t paying all his attention to her, he was thinking if it was possible. Was it possible to bring back Shadow with alchemy? Heart looked to Lemon and stared at him, she was trying to look into his thoughts, read what he was thinking, and when she found what he was thinking, she almost screamed. “Lemon! You can’t do that! You know what could happen!” “Yes I know what could happen, but you know me, if any pony can find away around it its me.” “Lemon, I don’t think it works that way, we both know that alchemy is very complex, there are no loop holes in the equations. There is no way around the law of equivalent exchange.” She looked at Lemon with sad eyes, knowing him, he was going to try it. “Lemon….please don’t…..don’t do it……I don’t want to lose you….I-I….have…..to go now. I’ll come by later to check on you…..will you okay until then? Lemon got up and pulled Heart into a hug, he loved her as a sister, he never wanted to see her get hurt or upset, when they were young, he cared for and looked after her. Always helping with her little problems and defending her. Now the tables have turned and she is watching over him, caring for him. He felt so weak and pathetic right now, and he was. Lemon could feel the heat from her blush on his cheek, he smiled a little as she shyly raised her hooves around his neck and pulled him a bit closer. “I just want to thank you for coming over here and watching over me in my time of grief. It means a lot to me, really. “O-oh….don’t ummm worry about it….glad I could help you out.” He pulled out of the hug and looked into Hearts eyes, not needing Hearts power to see into her mind, he knew how she felt for him, but he didn’t think now was a great time for a relationship, he was so needy right now, he didn’t want to be like that to her. He wanted to be strong for her, ready to help her with anything. Now was not the time. “Well, I think your right, I do need to get myself together and take care of myself, but you’re still welcome to come by whenever you want. How about dinner, tonight.” Lemons smile widened when he saw her blush grow, she started to speak but her words were all jumbled and he couldn’t understand anything she was saying. He gently placed his hoof to her lips. “Breath, and calm down, now speak.” “O-oh…Id love to come over for dinner, are you uhhh sure its okay?” “Yes its fine I promise. Why don’t you dress up, wear something nice.” She was able to bring her blush down to just a dim pink. But Lemon could still see it. “Alright, well I uhh, have to go for now. I cant wait to come over for dinner tonight, see you then, Lemon.” He watched as she stepped out of the house and her mouth stretched into a huge smile as she giggled and sped off home. She was a nice mare, kind and caring, she always wanted to be with Lemon and Shadow, just to keep them in check. “You know, now that I think about it, this might explain why she was always acting weird when we were alone together, she had a crush on me.” Lemon knew he had to fix some things in the house and fix himself up as well. He had a date tonight.
Chapter 3View OnlineLemons Life.Chapter 3After Love Heart left, Lemon decided to get himself washed before starting on dinner. He trotted upstairs into the bathroom and started a shower; he stepped in and began washing his mane. “Am I doing the right thing? Should I really be in a relationship with the one I could call my sister? What if things don’t work out? It could ruin everything we have together.” He finished washing up and climbed out of the shower. He dried himself off and trotted downstairs to clean up the house. The house wasn’t really dirty, it was a bit cluttered though, papers and books on alchemy were scattered across the floor, all his mail he didn’t bother to open was piled up on his chair, half empty coffee cups were everywhere you looked, though you couldn’t really see much since the curtains were shut and his desk lamp was off. That was the only light he had for days, sitting down and studying alchemy, he had no time to get out and do anything else. “Well, I guess if I want a chance at making this work, I have to start here.” He started by bringing all his alchemy research back down to the basement, he knew he would have to study it more if he planed to use it to bring Shadow back. He knew that what he was doing was dangerous, but Shadow was his everything, he wasn’t just a brother, and Shadow was like another him, an extension of Lemon himself. He climbed back up stairs and into his living room, most of the clutter was gone since most of his living room was nothing but alchemy books and notes, but he wanted the whole room cleaned, He didn’t want to mess thing up tonight. Love Heart trotted back to her home just outside of town to get ready for her date with Lemon, she didn’t think Lemon would want to be with her, to be honest, she didn’t think that Lemon would be in a relation ship with anypony. He never acted like he cared about any thing, other than Shadow and her. But the way he cared for them was different, they were like his family. They always took care of each other, no matter what it was; they were there for each other. They all met at an alchemy camp, but at first, they weren’t really on the same page. Love Heart trotted up towards the gate of the camp, but stopped a few meters short to make sure everything was in check. Mane was up in her baseball cap and her tail looked boyish, the dye looks okay, and all of her female things, brush, hair pins, hair care products, were under all her books and fake male stuff. She trotted up to the gate to be met by an older stallion, the stallion was of a larger built with a shadow gray coat and night black mane and tail, he had a large scar on his emotionless face that can only be assumed to be caused by an alchemy transmutation gone wrong. His voice was rough as he spoke. “Morning young one, what’s your name?” He held up a clipboard with a long list of names of the stallions and colts that were attending the camp. She spoke in the voice she had been practicing with her older brother, if she wanted to be here, she had to be a colt. “My name is Blade Stone. Sorry about signing up a little late, my parents misplaced the papers.” “Ah, here you are, Blade Stone, I was told that you’re pretty good at your alchemy, we’re going to expect great things out of you, head on in.” She trotted in though the gates, not sure where everything was right now, she decided to just walk around for a little bit. Everywhere around her were young colts running and playing with each other, and older stallions sitting and chatting with one another. The only thing that the place lacked, that made her sick to think about, was mares. The camp was a “Male only” facility, for some reason, ponies thought that mares shouldn’t practice the art of alchemy. Since alchemy wasn’t the biggest thing around Equestria, this was the only alchemy camp that was made. Her parents thought that alchemy was too dangerous for a mare like her to practice, but her brother on the other hand, thought that she should do what she loves, so he helped her to get signed up in the camp. Now all she had to do was keep up the act for the duration for the program, how hard could it be? As she trotted along the dirt path, she took note of most of the colts and stallions that she passed. She decided to keep away from the older stallions, not sure what kind of “sport” they liked to pull with the newbie’s around here. Most of the colts she passed were either very young, or tried to act like the older stallions, so almost every male around here, she was going to avoid. She wasn’t too trilled about sharing a cabin with a bunch of stupid colts, but if that’s what it’s going to take to stay here, she would deal with it. “Hello future alchemists!” The camp was filled with a cheery voice, but she couldn’t find where it was coming from. “Its time to learn the rules of our camp and to get you in your cabins for the day, so head over to the large, red building over to the left of the gates, see you there!” All the campers started trotting towards the building, most of the young colts didn’t know exactly where they were going, the just ran towards where the older ones were going. “Hey! You there! Yeah you in the baseball cap!” She turned to see who was talking to her, only to find a colt about her age running towards her. She didn’t have time to react before he reared back to punch her. She leaned to the left, right before his hoof made contact; she spun around, facing her back to him. He had no time to slow down, so he landed on her back, she grabbed his foreleg and flipped him over her shoulder, and slammed him on his back. “Oww….not bad…for a newbie” He slowly rolled over and stood up; he dusted himself off and outstretched his hoof. “The names Shadow Heart, but everypony just calls me Shadow.” She placed her hoof on is and shook lightly. “My name is uhhh….Blade Stone, just call me Blade.” “Shadow, what are you doing? Stop messing with the newbie’s, even though he just owned you” She turned to see who the new colt was, the pony she saw was about the same size as Shadow, but his personality was a little dull, he didn’t really have much feeling in his voice. But for some reason, she liked him; she might be able to make some friends here after all.
