1 YEAR EARLIER

Princess Celestia was busy, she was always busy. After all, she did command the most powerful nation in all of the world, so its obvious her job never really slowed down enough to enjoy the labor of it.

Today was the day of the annual Summer Sun Celebration, and she was in charge of setting the necessary requirements in order to make all of it work out. Seeing how it was supposed to take place here in Canterlot, she was obviously a little stressed.

"Um mam," said one of here assistants to the near-goddess, "We have set up all the preparations for your departure, so we need to leave in about... 30 minutes."

"Thank you for telling me" Celestia exclaimed, " I just need to finish a few things before i set on out, tell the guards to prepare my chariot." The assistant nodded and set off to do just that.

"Finally," The Sun Goddess exclaimed, "I can relax for a minute." She wound down and sat trying to contemplate the day ahead. Despite all of her energy and power, she still needed to rest and relax every now and then. While doing so she thought it would be appropriate to go to the kitchen and... "inspect" the cakes to see if there was anything wrong with them.

Unfortunately for her she was stopped by another familiar face, her sister Princess Luna. "Where are you going, Tia". She demanded. "Um... just going to make sure that the cakes in the bakery were up to par with our guests". Celestia said with the goofiest and , most obviously, fake smile she could muster.

Luna wasnt amused "Sister, what have i told you about your figure" The Moon Deity spoke

"B-B-But, it was only to get a little piece" Celestia said as she tried to reason with her shorter, younger, goddess-princess sister.

"If you keep on with this trend of pigging out, your going to blow up like a balloon, and THEN what will the tabloids say" Despite her objections, Celestia knew what Luna was saying was true, if she even looked like she had gained 1/4th a pound, the newspapers would destroy her. Especially that new one that had popped up, The Daily Planet. With its editor an chief, Pretty White. An annoying little rascal that reprimanded everything she had been doing for the last 3 months. It was also getting quite tiresome when their cub photographer Pegasus, Cherry Olsen, constantly getting embarrassing and revealing photos of her. It was enough to drive her mad.

"Fine, sister" Celestia said, defeated. "I-I better prepare for the celebration"

"Good, ill see you there" Luna exclaimed as she set off towards her own chariot, to begin her journey to the center of the city, where the celebration would take place.

"Sigh" Celestia muttered. She was so sick of this daily routine of constantly having to make herself perfect for the world, when in the end the world would STILL try and find ways to completely humiliate and discredit her, and she could never do anything about it. As a Princess, she always had to be the leader, never the soldier. She always had to send her students and others to do her job for her, and the daily routine never ended. She thought the recent addition as Twilight as an Alicorn would lessen the burden on her, but it only made things worse since Twilight wasnt 100% ready to take over her job, and she still had to work with Luna, who only really worked at night or special occasions.

Speaking of Twilight, she couldn't even be her to see the celebration, because had gone on her own to see Princess Cadence and Shining Armor's new baby, Skyla. As much as she to wanted to see her as well, she couldn't because of her responsibilities. And in the end... she had always had somewhat jealousy towards them.

"Im happy that Cadence finally found someone to share her life with, and even Luna had found herself a little crush." She said to no one in particular. "But me... I don't have any of that, no one to understand my struggles, no one that gets me... oh Celestia stop acting like a little heartbroken school filly, you have the world at your hoof tips, enjoy your one day of admiration in peace." As she said that the guards came in and reminded her it was time to go

"Alright, lets go put on a show for my loyal subjects" She exclaimed with glee.

It was about time for the Summer Sun Celebration, and Celestia started off to her normal pose... when something caught her eye. Something.... big

"Huh?" Luna exclaimed "Sis, when did you make a second moon, especially without telling me!?" Luna was furious until she saw the shock on her sisters face, and realized that something was off.

Everyone looked into the distance, and saw what their somewhat primitive minds didn't quite understand. It was a large spherical like object, almost as big as the moon itself. Only it was very...metallic and unnatural. Some people thought it was a joke made by the princess against some others who wanted a new moon (...for some reason). Soon a smaller ship went down from the area and a strangle, bipedal metallic knight creature arouse. To some this seemed amazing and wonderful. But that was before a large humming noise was made... and the most terrifying voice imaginable could be heard

"Equines Of This Planet" it exclaimed with a fierce ferocity. "I Am Brainiac, The Most Intelligent Being In The Universe, I Have Been Forced Through Time And Space, And Noticed That Your Planet Is Covered In A Bond Of Cosmic Powers, To Some Which Is Known As "MAGIC". I Demand That This "MAGIC" Be Used For Me, And Only Me, In My Conquest, Gathering Of Knowledge And Total Annihilation Of The Universe."

"And what If we refuse" a rash young Pegasus said up and close to the machine. "What if we don't want to listen to some giant, moon thing."

Brainiac heard and fired a shot that instantly vaporized the Pegasus, causing much panic among the crowds. "... Then You Will Be Taught By Force" Brainiac exclaimed as he began opening fire on the city of Canterlot, instantly killing thousands of the nearby ponies in the ground, and reducing much of the landscape to rubble. To anyone looking... it would seem like hell.

"Alright men, set you horns and OPEN FIRE" The 2nd in command of the Royal Guard exclaimed as all of the guards shot towards the lumbering planetoid... only for it to immediately bounce off on impact of the creature and the ship. Shocking all of the nearby citizens.

"Do You Think You Are The First Civilization I Have Come Across That Uses MAGIC, You Think I Wouldn't Have Any Defenses Against Such Power?!" Brainiac nearly cackled as he sent in more ships across, landing in his thousands of troops to deploy against. In which wiped out most of the resistance immediately.

Brainiac felt content, though annoyed that this species magic wasnt strong enough for what he needed it for. That was until he heard a eruption of force below him, and saw something that almost brought fear to his metallic, cold heart.

"ENOUGH!!!" Said a angered Celestia and Luna, as they sent in magic bolts that instantly knocked around hundreds of the troops and even 2 or 3 ships. They made their assault towards the towering Brainiac, who while angered, had found what he was looking for.

"HOW DARE YOU ATTACK MY PEOPLE, IN MY CITY, ON THIS DAY" Celestia screeched in her Royal Canterlot Voice, such of which flew some of the ships back. "I DONT KNOW WHO YOU ARE, OR WHAT YOU ARE, BUT TODAY... YOU DIE!!!!!!!"

Celestia had realized she was destroying her "perfect image" by wanting to utterly destroy this worthless piece of scrap metal, but she felt it was justified. Never before had a creature so cold heartedly attacked and killed so many of her subjects. Even creatures such as Discord, Chrysalis, or even Sombra merely imprisoned her subjects or toyed with them, but this was beyond her scope of terror as her streets ran red with the blood of her own people. And she was beyond help at this point.

"Ahhh, You Will Be Useful To Me After All" said Brainiac as he sent in a ray of light towards the Sun Goddess, which despite her magical strength, couldn't resist.

"Get away from her" screeched Luna as she rocketed towards the Ship, only to be taken out by a large laser from the ship, and only thanks to her godly body an strength did she not perish.

"LUNA" Celestia bellowed. "I-I-Ill GET YOU MONSTER AND SAVE MY CITY".

Brainiac laughed, causing some fear in Celestia to grow. "What City" exclaimed Brainiac as he launched a strange yellow ray, instantly covering everything in a light so bright, even Celestias godly eyes couldn't see through them. And after that, there was only silence... as now a crater where Canterlot once stood formed.

"...no..." The weeping Goddess exclaimed "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" She wailed into the ship as hard as she could, and managed to escape the gravitational beam. Nearly destroying Brainiac ship in the process.

Something snapped inside Celestia, and rage Brainiac had only seen in 1 being before, exploded.

"AGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" roared the Goddess of the Sun and she fired her solar blasts at the many ships that cornered her, taking out dozens of the ships on impact, and wiping over half of the ground troops in a matter of seconds. Most of the many weapons bounced off of her newfound nigh indestructible molecular structure, and her attacks managed to go through the Magical Defenses like a hot knife on butter. It was to a point where her energy and rage could be felt all the way Manehattan, and as far to the Gryphon Kingdom.

She was on her way to total vengeance, when Brainiac pulled one more trick out in desperation, he managed to summon all of his power into one final laser cannon, and pointed it at the Sun Goddess.

"CRACKA-BOOM!!!!!!!!!!" The noise made as it hit its target, with a force comparable to that of a dozen supernovas compact into an area of less than 100 meters. But instead of a corpse, or incinerated floating ash pile, stood a weakened Sun Deity, who fell towards the earth. As she landed, she could remember only the words she had made less than an hour before...

"Lets go put on a show for my loyal subjects" echoed throughout her mind, until she was awoken on the ship of Brainiac. wearing a strange collar.

"Ehhhhhh" she exclaimed, trying to use her magic to free herself, but to no avail. The Collar seemed to disallow her powers, though it is in doubt if she was stronger it would stop her.

"Finally My Ultimate Weapon Is Awake" smirked Brainiac, that is... if he could smirk

Celestias anger slowly came back. "You...Destroyed... My... City... And... Killed... My.... SISTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!." Celestia bowelled as she tried to cast a cockroach spell to the machine, so she could crush it between her feet, but again, to no avail.

"I Did Not Destroy Your City, Or Your Sibling" he explained, shocking Celestia when he pulled out a bottle... with Canterlot in it.

"You... shrunk it" She asked

"Yes, So I Could Use It For Study Later, And Since I Have Covered It In A 'Anti-Magic' Shield, It Wont Be Going Anywhere." He explained shocking Celestia. "And Don't Think You Will Be Getting And Reinforcements Any Time Soon, I Have Already Captured All You Cities, And Imprisoned All Your Other Fighters Who Dared Appose Me" He explained a she saw the imprisoned cities or Manehattan, San Fransicolt, Las Pegasus, and even the Crystal Empire all contained in the same bottles as that. Also she noticed cages for Discord, Chrysalis, and any other pony/creature she had faced.

"...Why then am I still not contained" she said with hostility that could rupture the soul

"Because You Have A Ability That Will Help Me In My Defeat Of My Greatest Enemy... Commanding Of The Sun." Brainiac explained to her even more. "In Less Than 1 Year, According To My Sensors, My Greatest Rival Will Be Coming To This Planet, And I Want You To Finish Him Off" He exclaimed

He looked at her with his cold, lifeless eyes " I Want You To Kill The Superman."

Holy balls, that took a lot longer than necessary. I personally think I did a better job on this than on the first chapter (maybe because I was awake) and I hope you enjoy
