The Changeling Emptiness

My name is Clear View. I am a white earth pony born with eyes that see what everypony else would not. I grew up in Canterlot and became a detective to make use of my gifts. I quickly rose to the top of investigations and was given my own office of which to work in. Many high profile cases came my way as I always found that last piece of evidence in the crime scene or saw through those suspects guise. However nothing could have prepared me for what was to come.

When the threat to Canterlot was made, Princess Celestia tasked me with analyzing the letter in hopes that I could find who sent it. The letter had several different writing styles and although i ripped through my entire archive, it baffled me that I found many matches. It was contradictory as the letter was written uniformly as far as the ink was concerned. Had the letter been written by those several ponies there would have been differences in strokes and darkness.

As I was about to look again the doors to my office was blown off their hinges as two ponies stormed in, spit up some strange gunk that stuck me to the ground and then just watched over me. I tried to pay no heed to them yet i couldn't resist staring at their faces. They were cold and listless and then it dawned on me. I had seen these ponies before. In my decades of work I have only ever failed cases catastrophically. I would track the events going ever strongly and then suddenly the trail stops. These ponies were the subjects of two of these cases.

I tried desperately to talk to them yet all I heard was a buzzing that was obviously not directed at me. Partway into another attempt at communication an expanding barrier washed over me, freeing me and pushing the two ponies into a wall. I ran over to check for any signs of life but did not find any.

I was about to go look for the records of these two ponies when a fellow worker, Quick Sketch came to inform of the recent changeling attack. Quick Sketch pointed to the two fallen ponies and informed me however they were changelings who invaded Canterlot with their queen to suck the the love out of the citizens. As all I saw was ponies i went to find the connection between ponies and changelings starting with the two that trapped me.

The first was named Breezy Wisp.
