Chapter Eleven “A Fashionista's Weakness”

“Absolutely not!” Rarity declared, keeping her royal blue gaze fixed on the costume under her threading needle. Peter sat behind the mare with his hooves placed together in a pleading manner, but his actions proved only to irritate the unicorn further, causing her to huff. “This is the third time in two weeks that you managed to destroy a perfectly fine costume! For heaven’s sake, there wasn’t even a crisis!” Rarity’s hoof fell over her forehead. “Just tell me. What is your excuse this time, darling?”

Peter raised a hoof, chuckling nervously. “Stop me if you have heard this one before. Rainbow Dash--”Rarity groaned, shaking her head. “You two are a regular pair of ruffians. It’s like you haven’t stopped to consider my feelings. I always spends hours mending your costumes and working my hooves to the bone! How would you like it if I stopped? Maybe you'll stop taking me for granted then. She whined, throwing the costume over her shoulder once the tear had been properly repaired. “Peter Pony Parker, I am officially on strike.”Peter made his way back to a standing position, prompting Rarity to turn her back to him. “Come on, Rarity. I’m sorry. You know I hate upsetting you.”The mare raised her head, keeping her eyes shut. “Apologizing will not work. Not this time, Mister.”The stallion wrapped his hooves around Rarity’s neck from behind, pausing to plant kisses along her neck. “You’re the only tailor in my life. Can you imagine if I asked Rainbow Dash to patch my costume or… choose a new one?”Rarity shivered involuntarily, both from Peter’s mouth and the horrifying thought he gave her. Her face was beet red. “That would be disastrous. Her sense of style is as bad as… yours,” she managed, fidgeting in the stallion’s grasp. Rarity wanted to break free, but Peter’s warm breath and hot kisses melted her mind, sending her into a wave of bliss. “This is… hardly fair. Y-you’re merely bribing me,” she moaned, her body burning.Peter chuckled, guiding his mouth to the mare’s ear. He bit down, gently, and nibbled until Rarity’s moans of pleasure were heard. “You like Spider-Mane too much, otherwise you would have quit a long time ago.” Rarity growled defiantly, only to sigh blissfully and lean further against the stallion. Peter grinned victoriously. “It could be worse. I could wear something far more complicated and be even more obnoxious.”While she never relinquished her hold on the costume, Rarity turned and brushed her muzzle against Peter’s neck, smiling. “Is that a fact? I find that very hard to believe, honey.”Peter hesitantly pulled away, much to Rarity’s dismay. He opened the closet. keeping the door pulled wide to conceal his body. After a few moments, the stallion hopped out, and Rarity’s eyes widened at the sight. Garbed from head to hoof with a violet suit with blue boots, Peter stood with his chest poked out as the cape on his back brushed in the breeze brought about thanks to the opened window near his position. Rarity stifled a giggled. She had not seen the Mysterious Mare-Do-Well costume in quite some time. Peter lowered his hat over his blank, masked blue eyes before clutching the cape and raising it over his chest.Rarity bit down on her lip, suppressing a smile and her growing urge to laugh. She frowned to the best of her ability. “Stop it. I am still upset with you.”Peter stood on his hind legs, all while raising his hooves and cape high. “I am the terror that trots in the night! I am the soda machine that keeps your spare change! I... am Dark-Maned Stallion!”Rarity was in tears, struggling to recollect her breath in between her nonstop laughter. “That was awful.”“Really? I thought I was pretty good,” Peter grinned, removing his mask and hat.Rarity let out a defeated sigh, giving the stallion a brief yet affectionate kiss for his efforts. Peter was needlessly reckless, no doubt a ruffian at heart, but he always managed to make Rarity smile, which meant more to the mare than he realized. That stallion could destroy a thousand costumes. The mare’s smile grew. She would always be forced to forgive him, even if she didn’t want to. After all, a true gentlecolt would always find a way to make his mare smile, and Peter did that to perfection, even if his sense of humor was questionable at times. However, that did not mean he deserved to be let off easily. Rarity placed Peter’s costume over his shoulder before poking him in his chest.“Consider this a warning. Should you destroy another costume too soon, I promise I will give the next design pink highlights,” Rarity nodded, smiling wickedly.Peter shrugged. “I guess that would make me the Fabulous Spider-Mane.”Rarity paused, snickering. “Never mind.”
