She was falling.

Falling through an endless black void.

Ok, floating, technically. Twilight thought to herself.

In front of her a yellow haze formed. Tendrils of pink, emerging from both ends of the shape, flowed through an ethereal breeze.

In one blink she was standing in a field of flowers, pink-winged butterflies fluttering about without a care in the world. The same ghostly shape hovered just in front of her.

"Twilight," It said in a soft, very familiar voice. "Twilight, are you awake?"

"Fluttershy?" Twilight asked. "Is that you?"

The shape solidified into the pegasus she knew, wings splayed and her mane and tail still flowing. Her eyes slowly opened, revealing their teal colour to her. It just suddenly struck her how beautiful she was, but reasoned that because she was hovering without using her wings and that she was also naked this wasn't really Fluttershy.

"Twilight?" Flutterghost asked again, her face dashed with a hint of concern.

Twilight took a step towards her. "Fluttershy, where am I?"

Flutterghost closed her eyes, but said nothing.

"Fluttershy, answer me! What's going on?"

A black shape solidified in front of her just as it struck her muzzle. She saw Flutterghost turn into a red, angry mist for a split second as she heard her shocked grasp.

Her muzzle kept getting pounded by the black shape, and while she could tell Flutterghost was saying something, her voice was being distorted by her flickering into red frequently.

Then, as the black shape smacked hard into her face, the field, Flutterghost and the butterflies dissolved into black.

Twilight snapped open her eyes, only to have it shut by a furry foot smacking it.

"Angel, stop!" She heard Fluttershy yell. "She's awake!"

The pounding ceased, and she felt a weight jump off her. She opened her eyes to see Fluttershy looking back down at her with those bright, teal eyes.

"Thank goodness you're alright." Fluttershy breathed a sigh of relief. "For a second I thought you were stuck in eternal sleep."

"It's called a coma." Twilight said, sitting up. She noticed that her right arm was bandaged, and her right cheek covered in bandaids. She was also topless, but honestly didn't care.

Fluttershy did care, though, and she averted her gaze. "I'm sorry, but to get the wounds bandaged properly I had to-"

"Relax, Fluttershy." Twilight reassured her, covering her chest up with the blanket. "So, what happened?"

"Well," Fluttershy started, meeting her eyesight again. "After I accidentally gave you vodka instead of water, you lost consciousness and fell onto the glass that Rainbow had smashed. We took you back to my place and fixed you up, though I wanted to take you to a hospital."

Twilight looked at her arm, trying her flexibility. Despite being cut by glass it was moving pleasantly well. "I appreciate your help none-the-less." She moved the blanket to the side and spotted that a fair bit of her body and her right leg were also bandaged. "Ouch... How long was I out?"

"Fifteen hours." Fluttershy recounted. "I'm afraid you're going to have to stay here for a few more days, unless you know any healing magic?"

"As a matter of fact," Twilight replied. "I do know some. It's basic, so I won't be completely healed. I used it on Applejack to accelerate her leg's healing process."

"Is there a drawback?" Fluttershy asked. "I read a book where somepony had healing powers, but it took life from other things..."

"No drawback, except the level of magic required. Also, it'll make my headache worse."

"Well, feel free to take your time. Spike's already been told about your situation." Fluttershy stood up. "Are you hungry? Thirsty?"

"Very thirsty." Twilight replied, leaning back down. "Water, please."

Fluttershy bowed politely before walking into the kitchen. Her pink dress flowed gracefully behind her, the very tip of her tail poking through.

"Oh boy..."

The next morning, when she wasn't suffering from a headache, she asked Fluttershy to lead her a fair distance away from the cottage.

"What are you doing?"

Twilight, supporting herself on the pegasus's shoulder, smiled. "I'm trying to create an arcane circle that'll help me cast the healing spell."

Fluttershy gulped. "A-an arcane circle? Isn't that... dangerous?"

"A little. I've memorised the design though, so I shouldn't explode."

Fluttershy unintentionally imagined Twilight exploding, and nearly hurled. "I don't want to think about that..."

"Set me down here." Twilight said, and with the help of Fluttershy was helped down. "Now, let's see if this'll work."

Using her magic, she dragged some specialised paint into a circle around her, then continued to create the shape.

"Fluttershy?"

"Um..."

"I'm going to do something that might make you uncomfortable."

"I'll see how I do." Fluttershy put on her bravest face she could muster, that is to say not very.

Twilight, using her magic, slowly removed her clothing.

"What's this for?"

"The spell, when combined with an arcane circle, has a chance of fusing objects on the pony's body to her. It's very low, but I don't want to take the risk." She replied, tearing at the bandages. Soon enough she could see the various cuts over her body.

"I... really think you shouldn't do this."

"I know what I'm doing." Twilight said as she sparked her horn up and cast her magic into the circle. The circle glowed with power, energy swirling around the base. Twilight was lifted into the air slowly, tendrils of energy coiling around her.

"Twilight...?"

Twilight closed her eyes, feeling the spell's effect taking place. Her wounds were slowly closing by themselves. "Almost..."

Then a spark of magical lightning coursed through the magika.

"Oh no."

"Twilight?"

"The spell's failing!" She yelled over the now-frequent sparks of magic, feeling her mostly-healed wounds reopening. "Get back!"

Fluttershy took a few steps back. She screwed her eyes shut, hoping that the thing would just stop.

Wait a second. She thought. I could break the circle and stop the spell!

She took a few steps closer, and moved her hoof to scuff the dirt. A spark of energy ran up her leg and knocked her back.

"Fluttershy, what are you doing?!" Twilight yelled.

Fluttershy took a deep breath, then with as loud a warcry as she could muster bolted forwards. She cut the circle with her hooftip just as she wrapped her arms around Twilight, the arcane circle now sparking like crazy. Her momentum carried the two a considerable distance away, with Fluttershy on top and shielding Twilight.

The arcane circle exploded. What could only be described as the sound of reality bending and breaking tore through the air and nearly deafened the two.

It lasted only a second. After that, the sound of scared animals and Fluttershy's heavy breathing were the only sounds that they could hear.

"Fluttershy...?"

Fluttershy opened her eyes, folding her wings back in. There were tears, which shocked the unicorn.

"Thank you for saving me..."

The pegasus frowned. "You nearly killed yourself!"

"I wasn't expecting-"

"I don't care what you were expecting!" She yelled back. "Don't you dare do such risky magic again for something so... Trivial!" She wrapped her up in a tight hug. "I love you too much to lose you..."

Twilight blinked, hugging her back with her good arm. "I know... I'm sorry... We'll never speak of this again."

Fluttershy picked her up gently and slowly made her way back to her home. The bandages and clothes were disintegrated, a few scraps remaining from the edge of the blackened crater. After the short trip she placed her back down on the bed and started bandaging her up again, and she seemed to be back to her usual shy and reserved self. "This may hurt for just a bit."

Twilight endured the slight pain well, watching herself being bandaged up. "You're pretty good at this."

"I did a course in both nursing and vetenary practices." She replied. "I... I was too shy to do well in nursing."

"I understand. Dealing with sick or injured ponies really isn't your specialty."

Fluttershy giggled quietly at the irony of the situation. "And yet, here I am, tending to an injured pony. You're not uncomfortable, are you?"

"I'm fine." Twilight replied. "At least you got me out before I completely reversed the restoration, so I can at least thank you for that."

Fluttershy smiled sweetly, finishing her work. "What do friends do?" She leaned over Twilight and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. "If you need me, just call out."

Twilight blushed at the display of affection. "Alright."

"Twilight, I made you some dinner." Fluttershy called out relatively loudly, that is to say not very loud at all. Enough that she could be heard, though.

"Thank you." Twilight replied, dog-earing the book and slipping out from under the covers. "Hey, Fluttershy, can I borrow some clothes?"

Fluttershy poked her head in. "Sure. I-I mean, if you want to..." She shook her head to snap out of her shy nature. "They're in the chest-of-drawers."

Twilight opened the drawers up and sorted quickly through the clothing. She found a shirt, the same colour as Rainbow Dash's coat, which looked good.

Slipping it on, she realised it was a little too big. Probably fairly tight on Fluttershy, and she had to supress the urge to see her wearing it, the fabric bending around her soft, delicate frame or sizable-

"How so?"

"I think I heard Rainbow mentioning something..."

Twilight nodded.

"Oh... My..." Fluttershy's wings started slowly fanning out. "Um... W-was it good...? For you, I mean?"

"It was... Except when Pinkie pulled out what I guess was a cursed strap-on. That kinda hurt." Twilight shook her head. "But on the subject of 'Erotic novel', I'm writing one."

POMF. "W-what's it a-about?"

"Oh, um..." She tapped her fingers shyly. "I was, uh, thinking that because there's nowhere else to sleep, that I could only sleep here."

"What about the couch?" Twilight offered. "I could always sleep there."

"Angel's decided to sleep there, and he's very insistent."

Twilight thought for a second before shrugging. "Well, it looks like we're sharing a bed then."

Fluttershy smiled sweetly, stripping down to her undergarments and sliding under the covers. "Good night, Twilight."

"Sleep well, Fluttershy."

Twilight opened her eyes to find herself in the same meadow of flowers that she had a while ago. "Oh boy, not this again."

With no other options present to her, she started wandering around. The field was endless, as she predicted, but the butterflies were absent.

She felt something soft against her cheek, and it crawled its way across her nose. She saw a fuzzy pink shape either side of her muzzle, and she picked the object up with her finger. It was a butterfly of the colours of Fluttershy's Cutie Mark.

"Hello there, little guy."

Her attention focussed from the butterfly to the yellow haze that quickly turned into a naked Fluttershy. The difference about this one, though, was that it wasn't floating nor had its mane in ethereal wind. Instead, this one was standing on the ground.

"Fluttershy?"

Fluttershy opened her eyes slowly. "Twilight... I have something important I want to tell you..."

Twilight shivered as Fluttershy placed a hand on her cheek. The touch felt warm.

"I love you... More than a friend."

Twilight blushed. "I think I feel the same way."

Fluttershy leaned closer. Twilight bridged the gap and pressed her lips against her softly. It felt wonderful.

So wonderful, in fact, that the black depth returned, pulling her back to reality.

Twilight fluttered her eyes open, feeling a vaguely familiar feeling on her lips. Her eyes widened dramatically as she realised what the feeling was.

Fluttershy peeked over the edge, blushing. "Uh... Good morning. Are you ok?"

"I'm that good at it?" Twilight let out a low whistle, standing up. "Wow."

"Yeah... Wow..." Fluttershy replied.

"Anyway," Twilight sidetracked. "What's for breakfast?"

Yet another day passed. By now Twilight was capable of walking reasonably well and had gone through every book in Fluttershy's collection.

Almost.

"I didn't know you read this stuff." Twilight said, flicking to the first page.

"Huh?" Fluttershy asked, looking up from grooming Angel, then dropped the brush in surprise. "Twilight! Put that back!"

Twilight paid her no heed. "Ooh, and this is one of the saucier ones."

"Twilight!" Fluttershy yelled, trying to reach for the book. "What are you doing?!"

"Reading this, obviously." She replied, doing what she said she was.

Fluttershy pressed her body against Twilight, reaching high to get it out of her hands. It didn't work. "Twilight, stop!"

Twilight blushed slightly, feeling Fluttershy pressing against her. "Come on, it's just a book."

The pegasus relaxed once her hand was taken, and she smiled. "I... I think I'm in... love... w-with you..."

Twilight blushed. "Really?"

"Yes..." Fluttershy closed her eyes. "I think it started since when you helped me discover my Element of Harmony..."

"That long, huh?"

"Once I felt the familiar... tug in my chest... I knew I had a crush on you, like I did with Skychaser back in school. Once you freed me from Discord's control I think it became more than that..."

Twilight leant down, still holding one of her hands. "Well, you might be pleased to know the feeling is mutual."

Fluttershy looked into her eyes, startled, confused and somewhat pleased. "Huh?"

"Sure, I've only felt this way for a day or two, but love's strange like that." Twilight leant on her side, facing the pegasus, smiling. "So, if you're ok with it, we can be together."

Fluttershy smiled softly, which turned quickly into a great big grin, and wrapped her arms around Twilight. "Thank you so much, Twilight! I never thought this would happen..." She lifted her head up slowly. "Uh... Can we..."

Twilight nodded. The two slowly closed their eyes and pulled their muzzles forwards. They bumped against each other, releasing a fit of giggles from the two of them. "Ok, I'll go up, you go down."

The two tried again, and this time succeeded. Fluttershy was very soft, which compared to Rainbow's kissing, Twilight found very nice. "Hello, my dear." Rarity greeted the pegasus. "How are things?"

"They've been wonderful." She replied, almost dreamily. "How are you doing?"

"I'm doing rather well at my store, and..." She spoke at a hushed whisper. "I've recently started meeting up with this smashing gentleman."

"Oh my." Fluttershy quietly announced with a smile.

"Oh my indeed." Rarity replied. "Is Twilight here?"

"She is. I assume you brought her clothes, Spike?"

Spike nodded. "Yep. I mean, can you imagine what'd be like if she went around naked?"

Fluttershy wingbonered. Rarity raised an eyebrow, smirking.

"I think somepony doesn't mind the thought..." Rarity mumbled, before tapping Spike on the shoulder. "You go give Twilight the clothes, Spike."

Spike threw a mock salute and walked inside.

"So... What happened since the party?" Rarity asked with a knowing smirk.

"Uh... First, she tried to cast a healing spell with an arcane circle, but that didn't work. Then it went pretty calmly from there."

Rarity's knowing smirk faltered. "How badly are we talking here?"

"If I didn't break the circle and pushed her out of the way she... probably would've been torn apart... Into bloody chun-" Fluttershy nearly heaved. "I don't want to think about it..."

"Likewise." Rarity replied, before her knowing smirk returned. "So, what else happened?"

"Uh..." Fluttershy blushed. "We..."

Twilight walked up, now in clothes that fit her. "Good morning, Rarity."

"Hello, my dear." Rarity replied. "Ready to go?"

Twilight nodded. "I'll be right behind you."

"Very well then. Don't take too long, you have a book that needs valuable input." She gave her a wink before walking off, Spike in tow.

Twilight waved, before turning to Fluttershy. "Hey, uh... Knowing my luck recently, I'm probably going to have a sexual encounter with Rarity. I just want to make sure you're ok with it."

Fluttershy shrugged. "I don't mind. I'd prefer it to be... just us, but once you get it out of the way I'll be happy."

Twilight sighed. "Thanks. Do you wanna grab some dinner tonight? My treat."

"I'd love that." Fluttershy smiled, wrapping her arms around Twilight. "I'll see you later."

Twilight grabbed Fluttershy's chin and kissed her gently before turning to go. She walked down the path before turning 180 to face the pegasus again. "I'll be over about 6 o'clock!"

"Bye!" Fluttershy waved, getting a wave back. "Stay safe!"
