When Ms. Cheerilee went to go check on her son the next day, he wasn’t feeling well.

“Oh my, what’s going on?” She asked worryingly. “Are you alright?”

“I… I don’t know…” He replied, holding onto his stomach almost if he were about to throw up.

“I need to get you to the doctor!” She said in a serious voice.

It wasn’t raining, but it was cold. Razor decided not to wear the sweater Sweetie Belle made for him because he didn’t want to get it contaminated.

Ms. Cheerilee got her umbrella just in case and walked Razor to the doctor’s office.

She signed him in for an appointment and his name was soon called.

“So, what seems to be the problem?” Nurse Redheart asked.

“Well, I haven’t been feeling well since this morning, and it just seems to get worse…” He said then coughed.

“Okay, I’m going to need to get a saliva and urine sample from you.” She got a cotton swab and gave him a small cup.

The colt blushed lightly. “If I could do the saliva sample first…”

“Of course!” She picked up the cotton swab. “Now, say “Aahhh”.

The colt did so, then the nurse tapped the cotton swab to the back of his throat.

“Very nicely done!” The nurse said. “Now, the bathroom is right across the hall.” She pointed.

The colt blushed again and took the cup to the bathroom. Several minutes passed including a thorough washing, and he came out and gave it to the nurse.

“Thank you.” She said, then put the samples on a tray. “Now, just sit here. I’ll be back in a few minutes.” She said picking up the tray, then walked to the testing room.

The colt sat down and waited for the results to be determined.

The nurse returned with Ms. Cheerilee.

Ms. Cheerilee held his hoof.

“Well, it appears you have the flu…” Nurse Redheart said. “You’re going to need to stay here and let it go away.”

“I’m sorry…” Ms. Cheerilee said.

“What do you mean,” He sneezed, then continued his sentence. “stay here?”

“You’re going to have to stay at the hospital.” Ms. Cheerilee clarified, sniffling.

“It’s a really bad case, but it will go away!” Nurse Redheart said, booking him a room.

“Only if it’s needed…” He said, a tear rolling down his cheek. “Can Sweetie Belle visit?” He asked.

“If you want her to.” The nurse said.

“Okay…” He said, sniffling.

A doctor came and brought him to his room, where he was put in bed.

Ms. Cheerilee followed. “Will he be alright?” She asked nervously.

“He’s going to be perfectly fine.” The doctor said. “But it may take up to three weeks, depending on his conditions.”

Ms. Cheerilee looked down on him, worried. “Don’t worry, Razor, you’ll be fine! I promise.”

Razor put his head on his pillow.

Ms. Cheerilee was asked to leave for sanitary reasons. “Okay, Razor. I’ll see you tomorrow!” She kissed his forehead and went home.

Night fell and Razor was getting tired. He yawned and went to sleep.
