I thought I was dead.
Editing is epic (update)
Previous ChapterNext ChapterHey guys, just got the pre-reader and editor on (same guy, very badass) This is the edited version of the backstory to Drax. Tell me what you think :D
"You know, I think it would be better if I were to just show you what happened." said Drax
"What do you mean" asked Twilight
"Watch" Drax said as a light shown from his palm, projecting one of his memories on the ground.
The image flickered into life.
“Explosives armed,” reported DRAX-1, securing the final block of plastic explosive to the ship’s environment control system. “Ready to blow at any time.”
His commander replied over the radio. “Okay. Now get the hell out of there!”
Wrenching open the door and sprinting up a staircase to the bridge with artificial strength, Drax fired a few rounds from his assault rifle at the command crew. The explosive shells wounded a few, but more importantly, they instilled fear.
Screams filled the bridge as the helmeted, well-muscled soldier took a few steps in, slowed by his heavy armor. Fléchettes and plasma rounds were fired, but merely bounced off Drax’s breastplate.
With a slow, lumbering gait, Drax strode up to the captain’s chair. “Get me an escape pod.”
His unfortunate quarry’s hands shook. “The Confederacy’s ships will be here– you cannot hold this position–”
“I am not concerned about holding the position. Get me an escape pod.”
“I–” The captain reached for his pistol, but Drax was far faster than he. An explosive round blew his head apart.
Drax turned to the petrified bridge crew. “Anyone else going to try and stop me?”
Nobody replied. Then a woman sitting to the side of the door through which Drax had entered stabbed a button.
Immediately, a quiet alarm began to beep on her console, shortly followed by a macabre chorus of caution and warning alerts originating from every computer on the bridge. The lighting dimmed and was replaced with emergency red.
Drax spoke again, still angrily, but this time his voice carried a slight tint of fear. “You stupid bitch! What did you do?”
She did not reply, and in spite of her blanched face and trembling fingers, smiled. She had nothing left to fear anymore.
And Drax stared in horror as a recorded voice spoke over the intercom. “Warning. Tokamak magnetic containment bottle has been disabled. Safety systems offline. Reactor confinement vessel integrity compromised. Repeat, tokamak magnetic con–”
The world burst into a flare of ravenous white, then sank into blackness.
