I'd Give You My Wings

As soon as they reached the fields on the outskirts of Ponyville, Princess Twilight and Rainbow Dash took to the sky, Rainbow looked up to the clear open sky and her eyes opened in filly like wonder, she shot up in to the air at amazing speed, leaving a rainbow trail behind her.

Twilight was a lot more nervous and stayed a lot closer to the ground, however she gracefully soared over the hills and meadows. She closed her eyes and felt the wind in her mane and feathers. Wings where amazing, the feeling of flying was unbeatable.

On the ground, sat a small orange filly looking up at her two companions. She clapped her hooves together as Rainbow Dash perfected tricks and looped de looped in the air. She waved at the Princess gracefully soaring by. All the while the filly was flapping her own wings, but couldn't even manage to lift her own small body from the ground.

Suddenly, Rainbow Dash appeared in front of her. Scootaloo stopped flapping her wings and looked anxiously to the older pony.

“I know you're trying kid.”

Said Rainbow softly.

Scootaloo looked to the floor. She was holding back tears. She was old enough to fly, she knew that. Even baby pegasus' could fly a little bit. But not Scootaloo, in all her life she had never been able to fly. She felt pathetic, for even Fluttershy, who was scared to fly and a weak flyer, could fly a little when she was half Scootaloo's age.

Scootaloo was snapped from her thoughts when she was lifted up into the air by Rainbow Dash.

Together they flew, as they had on the camping trip with Applejack,Rarity, Sweetie and Applebloom. Scootaloo grinned at the memory. She began to flap her wings, if only she could fly without Rainbow holding onto her. Sure, she loved that Rainbow helped her, but she was scared. So far this was the closest she had ever been to flying and although she loved the feeling of flying and having her sister help her, but Rainbow wouldn't be able to hold her up forever.

She had to learn how to fly on her own.

From a distance, Twilight observed her friend and the filly, she was happy Scootaloo was flying, but couldn't help feel a pang of guilt as the small wings flapped relentlessly to no avail, while her own new wings enabled her to soar through the sky with ease.

She pushed these feelings aside and quickly flew beside Rainbow.

The rainbow pony winked at her, Scootaloo smiled quickly but soon was concentrating on flapping her wings again.

The three flew in silence for a short time, when suddenly Rainbow Loudly shouted:

"Hey Twilight! Use your magic!"

Twilight blinked.... What? Why didn't they think of this before!

A pink glow began to form around twilight's horn, and slowly rainbow moved her hooves from underneath Scootaloo.

The filly didn't notice the purple glow that surrounded her at first, but then rainbow cleared her throat and Scootaloo looked around.

"Hey! I'm doing it! I'm flying!"

She screamed.

"Almost squirt"

Beamed Rainbow.

Scootaloo flew towards twilight, her wings and the magic holding her up. Twilight smiled at little Scootaloo, who gave her a hug in mid air, twilight was startled but began to laugh, Rainbow joined in the hug and the three ponies where all laughing and started to spin.

"Faster!"

Scootaloo screeched in delight.

Rainbow and Scootaloo became competitive, challenging each other to spin faster and faster.

The three ponies where whooping with delight, when suddenly: the fast spinning caused Scootaloo to let go of rainbows hoof.

Scootaloo laughed as she was hurled into Twilight, who yelped as the filly pelted into her full speed.

Twilight dropped several meters in flight, holding Scootaloo in her front legs. Blocking Rainbow Dash, who was now standing on a cloud a  hidden from there view.

But in the clear sky below the cloud Twilight noticed:

The purple glow had disappeared from around Scootaloo. She was slipping.

"No no no!"

Screamed Twilight, as the little laughing filly who hadn't yet realized what was happening began to fall through the sky.

Twilight, still new and slow with her wings, began to fly after her. Screaming for Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow jumped into action and saw her little sister and friend plummeting towards the ground....

Sonic Rainboom.

Rainbow Dash zoomed towards Scootaloo. An explosion of rainbows formed, Twilight was sent spinning in one direction from the sheer force of the Rainboom, Scootaloo was still falling ever faster towards the ground.

A beam of purple light appeared as Twilight tried to tele port to the ground to catch Scootaloo but in the panic of the moment the spell went wrong and she collided in mid air with Rainbow Dash.

Both ponies where knocked back and began to fall towards the ground.

As all three ponies fell towards the ever closer growing ground, The last thing Twilight Sparkle heard before darkness consumed her was the little filly, screaming for help that they could not give her.

"Rainbow Da..! Princess Twilight!.... Hel...."
