Prologue: An unusual morning

“Why won’t those stupid birds just shut up, it’s way too early!”

Mick turned around again, still not wanting to open his eyes. He cursed last night, playing LoL for way too long…again. Why did he keep doing this, he knew it would lead to a hell of a morning. For some this kind of mornings were magical, but for him they were hell. The sun just shone through his closed eyelids and the birds’ singing kept recalling him from his dreams.

Ah, yes, what a dream he had. He recalled a bit from it. Something about seeing a shooting star and an eerie green light. Thinking about it made him smile as the light scared him at first, but when it touched him it was soothing and warm.

He smiled as he made up his mind. Get up, start pc, study a bit and watch the new MLP episode…

Yawning, Mick stretched his arms and legs, but cut it off short as he felt something strange at his back. He held still for a moment to make sure he wasn’t still dreaming stuff. He moved a bit around, but the strange feeling kept following him. Shocked he jumped out of his bed and looked at it, expecting to see some kind of creature… but it still was empty. He finally looked past his bed and was hit by a second big surprise. He wasn’t in his room anymore! His familiar wall with posters was replaced by a scene of a quiet forested area. His eyes followed a bunny who hopped from underneath a berry bush and  stopped to look at him.  His amazement only grew as it didn’t look scared at all, but made some kind of facial expression that could best be compared to a smile before hopping away.

His eyes kept following the bunny till it disappeared in the foliage.

“What the buck did I just see…where is my room…my stuff…MY PC!”

His mind started to run over all kind of possibilities: “A prank, hurricane, …? What had happened, did someo…”

Before he realized it he was laying on the ground. Blinking in confusion he looked back to see what tripped him. He felt panic overwhelm him. Where he expected to see his feet, now hooves grew. His skin was covered in a smudgy brown pelt and he couldn’t stop his gaze going up. His backside was hidden underneath a short, unkept tail. The last thing he saw before he blacked out were a pair of strong, feathered wings growing from his back. Well, at least he now knew what he had felt earlier…
