Heart of Shadows

• Draikean Mountains -

A dragon was siting in it's large cave. It's scales were the colour of freshly spilled blood, and menacing emerald green eyes looked out over Equestria. Smoke was rising from Appleloosa. Griffons had attacked. All of a sudden, a royal blue dragon with dark red eyes flew in, blocking out the sunlight.

"Ryios. What are you doing here?" the red dragon grumbled

"That's how you treat a visitor, Solaris?" Ryios asked

"What do you want?" Solaris narrowed his eyes. He was short tempered.

"The griffons are attacking Equestria already. If we don't act now, they'll get all the land." Ryios explained the situation

Solaris thought for a moment. "Get Lunaris and Floira. We'll gather up dragons and plan an attack on the griffons." Solaris said

"Ok." Ryios flew out the cave, off to get the dragons

• Celestia's Castle ~ Infirmary -

Thunderstorm was sitting in one of the hospital beds, while Strawberry Sprinkle tended to his wounds. Every once in a while, he would wince as Strawberry rubbed the numbing ointment. He buried his face in the pillows, and Strawberry sighed.

"How did this happen?" she asked

"A griffon got me at Appleloosa." Thunderstorm replied, his voice muffled

"Damn griffons." Strawberry grumbled

"Hopefully Draikea, Skieh and Oceirpia won't attack." Thunder said

"Hmm. Maybe." Strawberry though about those chances

Sky Strike walked in with Lightning Dash, and Thunderstorm raised his head.

"Thunder! What happened?" Lightning asked worriedly, hurrying to his side

"A griffon got me at Appleloosa." Thunder explained

Lightning stamped a hoof. "We need to get rid of them before the situation gets dire."

"Didn't you need to go see Shadow?" Sky questioned

"Yeah. I have to go, bye Thunder, Sky!" Lightning called as she ran out of the room

• Shadow's house -

Lightning raced by. She quickly flew straight through the door, not bothering to open it.

"Shadow! Where's the others?" Lightning asked

"They're not here yet." Shadow replied

As soon as she said that, a cream Pegasi burst in. Her mane was fiery, and her wings trailed off in fire. Her eyes looked like a raging flame. She resembled a Phoenix. Her cutie mark was flames.

"Blaze!" Shadow said

"Yo!" Blaze replied

The room chilled. A hiss escaped, and a white mist formed. A pony stood. It was pale blue with a dark blue mane. Her eyes were icy blue. Her cutie mark was icicles.

"Ice! Do you know where Star is?" Shadow asked

"Late, as usual." Ice replied

After a few minutes of waiting, impatient huffing and the occasional stamp of a hoof, Star appeared breathing heavily. Her flank was covered in scratches. A claw got her on the left side of her face, and on her right front leg.

"Star!" Ice ran to her aid

Shadow shut her eyes, and concentrated. She imagined Star's wounds being healed, and her horn started glowing black. Once the light reached a climax, Shadow let it loose like a dam breaking and letting a river flow through. The light engulfed the room, then faded after a few seconds. Star's wounds were healed. Shadow was panting however.

"Thanks Shadow." Star said

"It's ok." Shadow said "Now we have to go get the ponies that harness the elements. Celestia said we needed them, right?"

"Yeah. They are Twilight Sparkle the element of Magic, Applejack the element of honesty, Rarity the element of generosity, Rainbow Dash the element of loyalty, Fluttershy the element of kindness and Pinkie Pie the element of laughter." Ice listed them

"Hmm. They all live in Ponyville, correct?" Shadow asked

"Yup. Twilight has a baby dragon named Spike, as well." Blaze added

"Let me get out the elements. And some things to prepare." Shadow said

Using her magic, she got a saddlebag for everypony. They all attached them on, and Shadow got out the elements, and said,

"Who wants what element?" she asked

"I'll take loyalty." Lightning said

"Kindness." Ice said

"Laughter." Blaze said

"Honesty." Star said

"I'll take generosity. We'll all get Twilight with the others." Shadow said
