The streets of Ponyville were bustling with activity. Foals playfully chased eachother, mares exchanged gossip with their friends, while others were simply going about their daily routine.

One such pony was a yellow unicorn stallion with a bluish mane, a shooting star for a cutie mark, and a saddlebag on his back. Comet tail was his name.

He stopped in front of the tree house that served as the Ponyville library, but it was more than just a library. It also served as the home of its librarian, Twilight sparkle.

"Hope shes home." Thought Comet tail.

Comet tail walked up to the front door and knocked on it.

"Twi its me." Said Comet Tail.

A few seconds later the door opened and Twilight herself was standing in the doorway.

"Comet." Began Twilight. "I didn't expect to see you until later today."

"May I come in?" Comet Tail asked.

Twilight nodded and Comet stepped inside.

"So what brings you here?" Asked Twilight.

Comet tail reached into his saddlebag and took a scroll out of it.

"I got this about an hour ago."

Twilight grabbed the scroll with magic and unraveled it.

Comet,

Me and your father have been talking, we would like you to come up to Canterlot for a little bit to visit. Your father keeps asking me "When is the last time Comet came by?". He misses you alot. We hope you visit soon.

Mom.

P.S. If you can, bring this Twilight that you talk about in your letters. I'd love to meet her.

Twilight set the scroll on a nearby table.

"Im going up for a week." Said Comet Tail.

Comet picked up the scroll and put it back in his saddlebag.

"Would you like to come with me?"

Twilight thought it over for a moment.

"A week in Canterlot." Thought Twilight. "Come to think of it, I havent seen mom and dad since the wedding."

Twilight smiled.

"Sure thing." Said Twilight. "Maybe I'll visit my parents while I'm up there too."

Comet tail smiled back.

"Great. I need to help Caramel with something now, but I can come by later and we can discuss it then."

"Sounds good to me." Said Twilight.

Comet Tail gave Twilight a quick kiss on the lips.

"Love you Twi."

"Love you too."

Comet tail stepped out of the library.

"I should send mom and Dad a letter." Thought Twilight.

Just as Twilight was about to walk to her desk, an idea entered her mind.

"Or maybe I can surprise them!"

Twilight giggled to herself.

"This is going to be great!"

Five days had passed, today was the day the two would head to Canterlot.

Comet Sail and Twilight's assistant, Spike was loading their combined luggage into the train while Twilight stood outside with her five friends.

"I still can't believe your going to be gone for a whole week." Said Rainbow dash.

"A week in Canterlot sounds so romantic." Said Rarity. "You are a lucky mare."

Twilight blushed lightly.

"Rarity its not like that." Said Twilight. "We're going to see our families, its not some kind of a romantic getaway."

"Oh! Oh! Maybe it is a romantic getaway but you don't want us to know!" Said Pinkie Pie. "Is it!? Huh!? Huh!? Is-"

Applejack covered Pinkie's mouth with her hoof.

"Ah talked with Caramel before ah got here, and according to him Comet is pretty excited bout this trip." Said Applejack.

"He is." Said Twilight. "He hasn't seen his parents in awhile "

"I hope the trip there is alright." Said Fluttershy.

"ALL ABOARD THE EXPRESS TRAIN TO CANTERLOT!!!!" Shouted a voice.

"Come on Twi!" Called Spike.

"I got to go girls." Said Twilight. "See you in a week!"

Twilight got into the train and took her seat next to Comet Tail.

"Bye!" Said Rarity.

"Have a good time!" Shouted Applejack.

"Bring back a souvenir!!!!" Yelled Pinkie pie.

The train began to depart from the Station, by the end of the day the two would by at Canterlot.

The train began to slow as it approached its destination. Twilight stuck her head out the window to look at the nearing Canterlot train station.

"Canterlot..."

Twilight pulled her head back into the train.

"I cant wait to see my favorite doughnut shop!" Said Spike.

"Don't get too excited." Said Comet Tail. "We have a bunch of things to do before we go there."

The train stopped at the station. The trio grabbed their luggage and exited the train.

"So how long until we reach the doughnut shop?" Asked Spike

"Well first we have to check in to the hotel." Began Twilight. "Then we were going to surprise my parents."

"And after that we need to head back to the hotel to get ready for dinner with my parents." Added Comet tail.

Spike groaned with impatience.

"We can work something out later Spike." Said Twilight. "But right now we need to get checked in."

Spike sighed.

"I'll go get the Taxi."

Spike set his luggage on the ground and scampered off to find a Taxi. Twilight turned to face Comet Tail.

"Do you think I should have told my parents I was Coming?" Asked Twilight. "They could be entertaining guests and-"

"Don't worry Twi." Said Comet Tail "Im sure they will be more than happy to see you."

Twilight smiled at him.

"Thanks Comet."

Twilight gave him a quick peck on the cheek, neither of them noticing two figures watching them.

"Is that who I think it is?" Asked the first figure.

"It is." Replied the second. "And look who he's with."

The figure smiled

"This is perfect."

The second figure smiled as well.

"Lets get put of here before they see us."

The two figures slip away unnoticed.
