Perigee

Twilight and Comet Tail trotted down a hallway as Spike followed behind, wheeling a luggage rack with their belongings inside.

"Still don't understand why we Can't just stay at the Castle." Said Spike.

Twilight turned her head to face the baby dragon.

"Snd let the royal guard know I'm coming?" Said Twilight. "They would tell Mom and Dad in a heartbeat."

They stopped in front of a door labeled suite #4.

"This is our room." Said Comet tail.

Comet tail levitated his room key into its hole and unlocked the door. He opened the door and stepped inside.

"You have got to see this."

Twilight and Spike stepped into the room. Their eyes widened with surprise.

"Woah." They both said simultaneously.

The Suite was astonishing. The wooden panel floors complimented the Grey walls. They cpuld see a fireplace set up in the middle of the room. A set of spiraling stairs lead to a second floor, and Twilight noticed a kitchen area set up in the corner. There was a glass door on the other end of the room.

"This is better than the travel guide said it would be." Said Twilight.

Comet tail approached the glass door and opened it, peering inside.

"This Suite is full of surprises." Said Comet tail.

"Spike bring the luggage in." Said Twilight. "I need to see this."

Twilight walked over to Comet Tail and they both stepped through the door. They were standing on a large wooden patio that was overlooking Canterlot.

"I can see the castle." Said Twilight.

"I can see a hot tub." Added Comet tail.

Twilight looked to her right. There was a hot tub set up next to a stocked minibar.

"This is better than the Castle." Said Twilight.

"This hot tub looks pretty nice." Said Comet tail. "Maybe later we could hop in."

Twilight smiled slyly.

"Sounds relaxing." Said Twilight.

They exchanged a ten second kiss.

"This is going to a a great week." Said Comet Tail.

"We should probably get settled into our rooms." Said Twilight.

"Good idea." Replied Comet.

They walked back into the Suite, hooves held together.

After getting settled in and finding a taxi, the trio reached The home of Twilight's parents.

Twilight looked at the house while Comet Tail paid the taxi driver.

"Wonder how they will react to seeing me?" Thought Twilight.

The taxi drove away and Comet tail walked up to Twilight.

"Lets pay them a visit." Said Comet tail.

They approached the house while Spike followed behind. They reached the front door.

"Here goes nothing." Said Twilight.

Twilight knocked on the door with her hoof. Soon after she heard hoofsteps.

"I swear if its another filly scout selling cookies....." She heard a voice mumble.

Slowly the door opened and a blue unicorn stallion stood in the doorway, Twilight's father Nightlight.

"May I-"

His eyes widened upon seeing his daughter.

"Hey dad."

"Twilight?"

He pulled Twilight into a hug.

"Its been awhile." Said Nightlight.

"I missed you too dad."

They broke the hug and Nightlight looked at Comet tail.

"You seem familiar...." Said Nightlight.

"Comet tail. I asked you to give Twilight the cupcake and the letter awhile back."

"Ah yes, that was you."

Twilight walked up next to Comet tail.

"What about me?" Asked Spike.

Nightlight chuckled.

"Nice to see you too Spike."

"Can we come in?" Asked Twilight.

"Of course you can."

The three stepped inside as Nightlight closed the door behind them.

"Today is just full of surprises isn't it." Said Nightlight.

"What do you mean?" Asked Comet tail.

"I'll tell you in a bit." Replied Nightlight. "Twilight, your mother will be so happy to see you."

They walked down a hallway.

"Shes entertaining some guests." Said Nightlight.

Twilight was starting to feel doubt.

"Oh... Did I come at a bad time?"

Nightlight chuckled and gave his daughter a smile.

"Believe me, you came at just the right time."

Nightlight led them into a living room area. Twilight's mother, Velvet was standing while talking to somepony sitting on a sofa facing away from them.

"Honey look who came to visit." Said Nightlight.

Velvet looked up and ghasped.

"Twilight!"

Velvet ran over and gave her daughter a big hug, which Twilight gladly returned.

"You have no idea how much I missed you." Said Velvet.

"I missed you too mom." Said Twilight.

They broke their hug.

"We just keep getting visitors, don't we Nightlight?"

"Who else is here?" Asked Spike.

A pony got up from the sofa and turned to face the group. Twilight gasped at who it was.

"Shining!?"

The pony was none other than Shining Armor, Twilight's older brother.

"Twiley!"

Twilight ran over and gave her brother a hug. While they were doing that, Velvet turned to look at Comet Tail.

"You must be Twilight's coltfriend, the one she talks about in her letters." Said Velvet.

"Thats me." Said Comet tail.

Twilight ended her hug.

"I had no idea you would be here!" Said Twilight.

"Well I didn't come alone."

Twilight turned to look at the sofa. A familiar pink alicorn sat on it, smiling at her.

"Cadence!"

Cadence slowly got up.

"Twilight, this is a surprise."

They began to great each other the way they always do.

"Sunshine! sunshine! Ladybugs awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!"

They both started laughing. Comet tail looked at them with a smile on his face.

"Its like you have a mini family reunion here." Said Comet tail.

A few minutes later all six ponies and spike were sitting in the living room.

"Your brother and Cadence came this morning." Said Velvet. "Took us by surprise."

"It was Shining's idea." Said Cadence. "But we had no Idea you would be here too."

"Great minds think alike." Said Shining armor.

Nightlight looked at Twilight.

"So how long are you going to be in Canter lot?" Asked Nightlight.

"We were going to stay the week." Said Twilight.

"Then your going to be around for the benefit." Said Velvet.

Spike raised an eyebrow.

"Benefit?" Asked Spike.

"Twilight's old classmate Twinkleshine is putting together a benefit party for charity in a few days." Said Nightlight. "Me and your mother are invited and the rest of you are definitely welcome to attend as well."

"I intend to donate to the cause." Said Cadence.

"Sounds like fun." Said Comet tail.

"I think we could go." Said Twilight.

"Thats good to hear." Said Velvet.

Comet tail looked at the clock.

"Twi we should get back to the hotel, we have to get ready for dinner at my parent's house." Said Comet tail.

"Your right." Said Twilight.

Twilight turned to face her parents.

"Sorry I have to cut this short." Said Twilight.

"We understand." Said Velvet. "But stop by tomorrow for dinner."

"Sure thing." Said Comet tail.

The two unicorns got up.

"Come on Spike." Said Twilight.

Spike got up.

"See you tomorrow." Said Twilight.

The three made their way to the door.

Comet tail stood in his hotel room and looked himself over in the mirror.

"Seems good enough." Said Comet tail.

Comet tail walked out of his room and went downstairs.

Spike was sitting on the couch while Twilight stood in front of him.

"Do I have to go?" Asked Spike.

"You don't actually." Said Twilight.

"What?"

Twilight levitated out a small bag of bits.

"You can go to the Doughnut shop, just be back before we are." Said Twilight.

Spike took the bits and grinned.

"I'll save some for you guys."

Spike scampered out the door.

"He seems excited." Said Comet tail.

"He likes doughnuts."

Comet tail took her hoof in his.

"Better not keep my parents waiting." Said Comet tail.

He gave Twilight a kiss on the cheek.

"Then lets go."

They made their way towards the door.

Elsewhere two ponies sat in a dark room, forming a plan.

"So we have a plan then?" Asked the first pony.

"We do." Replied the second. "Those two wont know what hit them."

The first pony gave the second pony a quick kiss.

"Thats why I love you."

The second pony blushed.

"Lets get ready, we got to get our plan into motion."

They both got up and laughed.
