Chapter 5

Saddened that I didn’t get to reveal my identity I stood at the dock to head towards the griffon kingdom to gain an audience with the parliament they have set up to help our princess gain control of our country with the help of the griffon’s carrying supply’s to us we will never need to ask in ponyvile or Equestria again. As we entered the fleet we all began to get ready for sail I sent two ships ahead to get inside the city and tell me what the defenses are like. As we approached another ship crossed our path it was one of those darn lunar guards ships I had completely forgotten the Princesses were friends my plan still was in action though even if she was there the ship boarded us and asked what we were doing we simply explained that we were here for supplies nothing more the guards then discussed it as the one pony came aboard it was princess Luna everyone on board saluted her the guards looked at us with suspicion and then Luna asked to speak with me I approached her and went to captains quarters where she sat down and looked at me with curiosity asking “Who are you?” I replied with I can tell you but once I do id only have two options either go to war with Celestia as fast as possible or kill you of course the second I would rather be executed and dishonored before that your highness. But I guess I should reveal it but you must keep this the most heavily guarded secret you carry.” She nodded and I took off my helmet and she sat there jaw widened she looked upon me like a ghost from her past it has been almost a whole year since anyone but Louie learned my identity and she hugged me and said “please come home with me Mid we can tell Celestia it was just to increase our military might to keep the dragons at bay or anything.” I replied while putting my helmet on “it’s not that simple your highness.” She said “it never is.” I’ll be waiting for you in the city I will discuss with the princess after this okay?” I nodded and said “Remember our secret?” she nodded and left I saw a tear fall before the door shut and then I felt a part of me feel like it had been cast off as the princess was taken to the city I sent out the word to all ships to follow and follow me to the royal palace where the royal family will meet.

The princesses met us at the gate with an army of guards in silver armor I bowed my head and saluted my princess who mumbled something I couldn’t make out but we were invited in my men sat at the gate as I conducted business with his majesty who only had this to say “How dare you invade our homes you impudent pony we will crush you!” I then removed my helmet drew my sword and threw it to the king and said “if I displease you then attack or would you rather not get your hands dirty with a hero’s blood.” He then recognized me as the pony guard who saved his precious angel from the tower she fell from playing with another guard who had no wings when he saw this face he immediately agreed to help me with my cause I then took my leave with my 100 pony army and returned to our ships where we left filled with supplies and a written agreement to receive them on a regular time every month till we can gather our own food from the farmlands and mines.

We returned home when we saw smoke I ordered the Pegasus to push the sails forward as hard as possible we returned to see a dragon attacking our castle we out flanked him throwing spear after spear pushing clouds into him to hide our forces swords and all attacking him we had finally slain the beast only a few had been buried the rest were treating for in our grand hall when ponyvile saw the smoke a lot of family’s gathered at the gates to see who had been hurt they offered us aid in our time of need when we had helped them but I kept them outside the main building in case of sabotage we had an emergency meeting of admirals to discuss the incident we had decided that we needed to fortify our position and build evacuation points throughout the castle and small village we had just built we then discussed the idea of training fillies I was against the idea but was out voted 3 to 1 even Louie had betrayed me in my mind I thought maybe we needed to go all out and find the princess but I’d be out voted again that’s when I decided to bring in ponies only I trusted as guards for me I feared politics would become our way poison and assassination are inevitable in any society I guess at least for the royal breed I then decided it was time I see my sister and the pony I always had a place in my heart for Rainbowdash.

As I had taken less than 4 steps out the gate the other admirals ran towards me asking where I was going I told them to speak with a friend in the royal palace they looked at me with great suspicion then me and my four trusted guards came with me we walked into ponyvile where the weather had become confusing apparently Twilight had to fix what happened to her friends I stood at the ready to help I sat in the gazebo in center of town where a strange enemy I would find to be my greatest ally came to me and said the most confusing thing ever “my name is applejack you are invited to the coronation of her new princess twilight.” I couldn’t stop laughing. Then she said “I know it is at the palace and you don’t like them there but she invited you so don’t disappoint her.” She said with a scowl on her muzzle. I told her that I would leave immediately me and my guards entered Canterlot with all eyes on us when I got to the castle the guards drew their lances and told me to turn around I told them I was invited they laughed and my guards drew their swords I told them to be calm then a voice behind me told the guards to move a side they are welcome here it was that applejack pony who told them and they stood aside we followed her in and a pony I considered my brother drew his sword with his magic and threw it at me he yelled “You fiend how dare you enter the palace at such a time.” Then his sword was at my throat when my unicorn knight put a sword against his and told him to stand down we had been invited she was a dear friend who saved me from that dragon.

The stallion I called friend put his sword away as his wife came to the balcony and put him beside her then princess Luna came to the entrance and told me to come in we went to her chamber where we shooed both our guards away except for my friend and captain of my own guard Summer with her helmet off she saw me and the princess hug and she looked at us suspiciously as I removed my helmet she turned around I told her it was ok to look she saw me the dead night guard captain. Who risked his life for Luna she then told me she was one of the best guards ever what happened I told her “It is very tough for me to talk about and very long of a story but I will tell you one day you are the only other pony besides my second who knows my identity please do keep it secret.” She nodded and let me and the princess talk we discussed the incident with the king of griffons where I discussed the incident months before Luna had been freed from her imprisonment on the moon when I was just a guard and a hero to the king that’s when a knock at the door came I quickly put my helmet on when an alicorn Twilight appeared with a angered look on her face yelling you what are you doing here quizzically I looked at her and said you invited me she looked at me puzzled I did no such thing I showed her the note and she was as confused as me and Luna told her it was her who invited him after that Twi said “I see well keep you dog on a short leash.” I growled at her she took off to the ceremony as did I and my guards at the reception I hear the whispers about me from everypony there including those who I thought to be my friend but since I hid my identity when a rock was thrown at me my guards became angered I did not care I told them to leave it be its just their way they sat still with shields drawn when a young filly came towards us she said are you guys really an enemy of all of Equestria then I smiled looked at her and said “No I’m an enemy to all ponies who think its ok to punish those less fortunate.” She smiled and said “Good but why are ponies like that?” I looked at her and said “Its cause all ponies has their own opinions and ideas some are just very wrong and others are completely good.”

The filly left when her mother called and then princesses came to my table I ordered the guards to leave and they went and got some drinks. The 4 princesses sat in front of me asking me one question “Are you the leader of your new nation?” I pondered this and said “We have no leader other than her majesty we only give orders till she will recognize us and lead us.” The Alicorn’s looked at one another and asked why Luna? I smiled and said Why not then I stood up the guards rushed to my side with hooves on their weapons I told them I am just getting ready to leave they calmed down and walked with me out the castle when suddenly somepony shot an arrow at me my guards instantly took to arms and drew their swords and shields I told them it’s fine we are leaving every guard looked at me with surprise as I let the pony go he tried to draw another arrow I threw a knife at his bow and said “Only cowards hide in shadow’s” He then rushed at me with the knife I  had my guard’s push him to the side and knock him out the other ponies rushed to his side  took his pulse and whispered about his idea and other ponies from NLR came down from the sky in a frantic voice the admirals looked at me and yelled “What are you doing here do you have any idea how freaked out we were?” I then got on board the cloud and we took off to the home base I got off my ass and flew outside with the guards and they were embarrassed of the idea they needed help to control the cloud but I told them I just needed to stretch my wings.
