Birth of NLR

Chapter 6

As the new princess Twilight moved to the castle we ponies were sad till pinkiepie threw a party and we saw the sun sink me and clover went to sleep. The following morning I awoke to applejack knocking on my door apparently a pony looking for clover came into the town and we rushed to see who it was when I got there I thought it would be him but it wasn’t it was some unicorn in NLR armor she had apparently come to take her to her brother we surrounded her she smiled and said the one thing only he would know “Good riddance.” I smiled and said she is sleeping everypony looked at me with a gaping jaw we walked and talked she said he wanted her to be safe and out of his enemy’s reach and that the admirals were discussing about schools and that he wanted her to be with the first class.

I had to think about it and asked her to send him instead she told me that if he came that others would know who she was and that it was imperative she not be discovered then I told her it was only way I would let her go. Of course she left and said she would be back at midnight with him. As clover left to say goodbye to her friends and the cutie mark crusaders all gathered together for a little party but then my friend Gilda came to me telling me about how the Griffon kingdom had joined with the NLR and we talked about the past when all of a sudden the sun had set and it was time as a large group of ponies gathered applejack pikiepie and flutershy were with me and rarity was with her sister who was crying when he stepped out of the forest in his usual armor it was him the head admiral Clover was backing away when he and his guards had stepped out of the Everfree forest they were bruised and battered some were bleeding but no pony rushed to help them but they waved to her the pony I considered part of my family she ran to me and I hugged her and yelled “well where is he?” they looked at each other and the head admiral told her to say “He is here but he cannot come out he is hurt.” Me and clover ran to the forest looking but the ponies looked at us and the head admiral had put his hoof to his muzzle and shook his head saying “jeez you two are exactly the same.” When he heard other ponies coming he picked up clover and gave her to one of his guards and told them to run he looked at me straight in the eyes and told me to tell the other ponies to run when 4 ponies draped in red appeared faces hidden by hoods with swords drawn he attacked them I yelled for my friends to stay back when one of the red ponies attacked the admiral and his guards behind our people they jumped out with weapons at the ready the admiral fighting two of them in the forest the sound of metal hitting metal when it stopped the guards were furious they stepped forward shields and lances at the ready the red ponies were shaking with fear when a rock hit one of the red ponies from behind he stood there with his armor in pieces and his sword destroyed and all but his helmet shattered he took on of the sword and fought the other ponies back to the forest when he turned toward us an arrow had been shot and was sent through his body every pony tried to get to him when the guards pushed them back they put their muzzles to his side and yelled “medic, Doctor anyone!?” when the doctor came to the front of the pack she told them to carry him to her house when they got there two guards stood at the door scaring anypony from going near there but we all gathered at the front they wouldn’t even let the mayor in they were like wolves guarding a new pup and the other two sat at his side at certain times they switched places till a griffon came covered in armor he stood at the door guarding it me and Gilda stood there wanting to go inside but the guard wouldn’t allow it. It was an order from his highness when Twi and her brother appeared things got awkward.

They ordered the griffon to move but he refused and Twi told him it was a royal order but still would not move that’s when twilight guards drew their swords then the four guards came out with their lances drawn ready to die for him then Luna came and said something to the unicorn who told the griffon it was ok after the 4 saluted and bowed to her. The guards retreated inside but you could feel the anger from the house and the royal guards with Twi and her brother sat outside waiting when the unicorn pony came outside telling the princess her brother the griffon and all of us to enter including clover.  When we entered the stallion sat there in the bed telling us to shut the doors and the curtain after that he told the griffon one thing “Hover” He smiled and left taking off by the sound of the wings flapping outside but I didn’t get it that’s when Luna appeared with her two guards then Twi demanded he take his helmet off but before she could finish the sentence he coughed up some blood and said what sounded like “I plan to your royal bossy.” We all sat gazing at the moment anypony would kill to see when his helmet came off it revealed him my dearest friend and the only pony I could love. Everypony gasped at what they saw and Shining armor ran to his side apologizing for what he had apparently done to him in Canterlot and me and Twi were in tears and hugging his legs Clover was hugging him but the one pony that Twi me and every pony stared at was her royal highness Luna who knew it already we yelled “Why didn’t you tell us?” he interrupted us by saying it was very tightly kept secret even some of his own guard were open jawed about who he was we saw it but after some questions me and applejack sat outside she sat with me as I waited to talk to him again she’s a very good friend and I know what she was thinking but I don’t think she knew how to ask.

I told her out loud “I’m leaving with him this time.” She looked sad but was smiling and hugged me other ponies looked at me with questionable looks but I didn’t care and even pinkiepie didn’t know what to say she just hugged me. As me and him got ready to leave I followed him we took many breaks he refused to let anyone but him carry his sister even me we didn’t talk but took many breaks to help with his injuries it took us two whole days to get to the castle where he introduced us to the admirals and said something surprising she is my new guard captain I was open jawed and the unicorn was furious but he then said in a vigorous voice “And my previous head will be the admiral of our internal security I hereby and hence forth as head admiral of the New Lunar Republic promote thee to admiral seat to enter all our meetings and sit with a voice of authority the other admirals were angered but Louie didn’t mind he nodded and greeted her with respect I had to glare at the others to make them greet her. The new admiral then had her own four guards with her twin brother sitting with her at the meeting the twin knights of Canterlot Hansel and Gretel very big names to anypony who is at the royal melee’s. They were unstoppable in both archery and swordsmanship except by maybe some of the real battle veteran guards who thought it was childish to participate in such a celebration.

We were finally a thousand ponies strong and ready to set up a new fortified base we voted it was decided on Saddle Arabia where we would find new ponies to recruit and train and learn new skills. I sent dash to investigate of course I wasn’t about to just leave her out there but I would join her when I had done the opening ceremony to the military education center for young ponies to train to aid our republic both in military and civilian matters. With the classes they will take separated by their race my own earth pony sister clover is taking the lead in a project already it makes me proud but no one knows about her being head admirals sister other than the Luna Twi dash and their friends. So I’m not sure who else they have told but I assume no one they seem trustworthy occasionally that farmer pony seems to visit her they seem to be good friends but I have not gotten the chance to even just sit down and talk to her and when we are alone it seems awkward and we don’t talk unless it’s actually about protection detail’s as we walk through saddle Arabia recruiting for our cause assassins and mercenary’s join us and try to bring shame onto our name we weeded them out quickly. Also dash loved making those damned sand ponies try and race her no matter what she won. Many of the original guards are mad she got such a big bump but I keep my eyes peeled for danger even if I can’t protect her and hold her like I want I still would jump in front of an execution squad for her.
