Birth of NLR

Chapter 7

My first day of my new school with my picture of me and the friends I left behind in ponyvile I’m so close to the entrance I can see everypony standing in line waiting to give their papers to the academy pony guards there is also griffon and even a few zebras I can’t wait to try and make so many new friends but dash and brother are gone I see the way they look at each other and I hope they have a family together cause I love them both. As I entered the gate and saw 3 guard’s one taking papers and two standing at the ready all three were earth ponies just like me. I was happy my first friend Starcloud he was a Pegasus from Canterlot where his dad was a mason who built walls for the royal castle and the royalty who apparently always acted like jerks to him and his dad but he’s like a scorpion he looks mean but I can tell he’s just scared.

My first period class my instructor for drill was Captain jewel who was one of my brothers guards till he decided to teach us as a request from the head admiral but I’m not supposed to tell anyone that he is my brother. But I didn’t get to see my friend till 5th period when we ate lunch together with his griffon friend Gertrude who was kind of shy but opened up to him and me it was wonderful to see my new friends smile and laugh till somepony named herald who had a bugle cutie mark came over and took our table cause he was one of the children of the admirals I hated it but I knew better than to cause a ruckus but my friends had other plans and the guards came over and broke us up and we were taken to the admirals office where the only other pony who knew about me was sitting I was open jawed and she smiled at me then got serious yelling at us and telling me to stay back where we talked “you know your brother would be ashamed of what you did but also very proud.”

She said with a somehow mean tone but I then smirked and said “I am grateful you’re here but I don’t even really know my brother anymore.” She frowned and said “I am sorry you have to learn how hard life is at your age no pony has ever come close to the suffering you and him have endured but I will always be here to talk to you my young filly friend.” The door shut behind me as I left for my 11th period where I could return home afterwards but it was a class I wasn’t prepared for or even sure what to do (fade in chalkboard with the words swordsmanship 101) the words instructor Starblossom one of the fiercest and most veterans soldiers who followed my brother and Louie from Ponyvile “the sword will only follow the will of the wielder not the force of the swing.” The lesson still didn’t help me I couldn’t even pick up the real sword only the Everfree wood sword it was heavier than the jungle wood that most ponies who were not earth ponies had to use but even then at my age Star said I needed to work out more but I had the class with both my new friends and when brother comes home I can’t wait to introduce him cause he said he would be here for family day where all the ponies bring in a family member and I can’t wait.

Brother couldn’t come home but dash did and she said she would be my family which was great because it seems I knew her better than my own family but I was happy. When we got to school all the guards saluted her and when I entered the homeroom the bell rang and dash and me were sitting next to each other when herald walked in he and his dad the admiral sat next to me dash saluted the admiral and so did I he sat down rubbed my head and said I would be just as good as her and when the parents stated talking about their jobs dash told the whole class how she was protecting the head admiral everypony even the adults were in awe but the admiral stood up and said that she was the greatest royal guard captain he ever saw with most sincerity in his voice he was a weird Pegasus with a unicorn child but he was cool he talked about how he and brother would have coffee and do many things together when he was finished and the bell was about to ring my brother walked in I ran to his side he wasn’t wearing a helmet or any armor but herald said loudly “your brother ha he’s not even in the military” but then the emblem on his robe showed pass the door and everypony knew what it was he was a inquirer one of the meanest and most hardest ponies jobs but even admirals saluted them they were our religious guards and only took orders from her highness or Head admiral and anyone below those titles bowed to them I was happy he was here and he hugged me and smiled and told all the ponies how he was the third pony who joined our society and founded the NLR he even said besides Louie he was the only other pony who knew the identity of well himself it almost made me giggle and every pony wanted to talk to him but another hooded person appeared it was his holiness Harkin the high overseer of the order and my brother bowed to him and talked to him before leaving after hugging me and dash goodbye at lunch me and dash had hay fries.

I introduced her to my friends they asked where my brother went and I said I didn’t know but he must be doing something important but as the word left my mouth a hoof touched my back it was my brother I spun around and hugged him and both my friends bowed but he said “that’s very unnecessary any friend of my sister is a friend of mine.” They jumped up and introduced their fathers but then Starcloud’s dad asked where our family was the three of us went from laughing to sad in a matter of seconds when my brother said “They were burned alive in Everfree forest and then almost everypony in earshot turned and silence was all over and then dash and my brother and me turned to leave when the admiral came to my side and told me that the Head admirals family was the same and that he wished he could of found the red hooded culprits when he said that my brothers eyes were lit a blazed but he said something that only the admirals knew “Good riddance.” When he whispered that I was shocked and cried to dash when we got home after school.

She told me it was like a password to admirals but I knew it was a lie. I woke up in the middle of night in the castle my brother was crying but dash was holding him and all I saw were their muzzles meet and they got up and went somewhere I couldn’t see one of the guards asked what I was doing I told him I was just checking on my brother he blinked and said come on little one let’s get you off to bed. The following morning when I left for school my usual secret route that same guard from last night ran into me and asked “why are you hiding Clover?” I told him the whole story and how it was a secret I lived in the castle and then he led me the whole way to school I made a new friend and he was named Tiger cause he was a zebra from saddle Arabia and he once fought a young tiger when he was going through his warrior ceremony and earned his name for his ferocity and courage. He led me to school every morning my friends met him and even talked with him.

Dash and tiger met one day when my brother was leaving for some sort of meeting with the princesses in Canterlot and a peace summit with the dragons near the old Luna castle he couldn’t hug me cause he was the head admiral then but dash hugged me and told me that she and him had a surprise when they come back I couldn’t wait. Tiger was my appointed body guard to school every day till they came back he was happy about it always smiling and laughing with me in the castle. But one day while the peace summit was in action Tiger got sick and I didn’t have a guard one morning and a man wearing gold armor like that of princess celestia’s guards ran into me with a funny look he apologized and asked if there was anypony who could carry a message to Head admiral and I pointed him towards the Barracks and told him to ask for tiger and he nodded and trotted on to the barracks and then flew off to I don’t know where but Tiger ran out of the barracks to the castle and did not stop when he got there Louie in his armor took the letter from him and told him to leave and he was shocked and ran into the castle with an alarmed look on his face.Herald ran into the class room saying that dash and brother had been kidnaped I immediately stood up and ran out the school my friends behind me but they couldn’t follow me into the castle where I lived and I met with tiger he told me the whole story.

When I had entered the castle the admirals surrounded me but Louie yelled at them for trying to scare me but Heralds father sat there watching me I think his name was Night something but I didn’t care I just wanted brother home Louie took me to my room where I waited and it was voted that they would send their new recruits from Arabia to save him with their powers to hide and be invisible they would be useful for a stealth operation till my brother and or dash came home I wasn’t allowed to leave except for school the admirals thought I would be a security risk but the enemy leaders already know who I am and who brother is why hide it then a knock at my door came it was my friends Louie had let them come play with me we had fun spending the night together I even slept next to them they could tell dash being gone I was sad so they stayed.
