The Last Hope- Possible later story built off this? [Adventure] [Sad]

Princess Celestia  placed the gemstone necklace around Apple Bloom's neck. "You are the last hope, Apple Bloom." the princess said. "You and Sweetie Belle are the only ones who have not succumbed to the illness, and Sweetie Belle must stay and tend the sick. The gem will protect you while you are gone."

"But Princess, why do ah have ta go? Why can't Zecora go?"

"Zecora has found a potion to delay the progression of the illness, and is exhausted from working so hard. She can't go on the journey for the cure if she has to make medicines, and as stated before, Sweetie Belle..." The princess frowned.

"Why? Ah'll get sick eventually too, ya know."

"If you need motivation, Apple Bloom, remember Applejack and Scootaloo.  Remember Ponyville, Canterlot, Fillydelphia, Las Pegasus, Trottingham, everywhere else in Equestria, and Manehattan." Apple Bloom flinched as the princess said the last word.  "B-babs! Is she-"

"She's fine.  The sickness hasn't spread there yet." the princess said coldly.  "Fine. Go now. Watch Equestria die.  Watch as Sweetie, and the rest of the Apple Family get sick too.  Become the last pony in the world."

"Ah'll go."

"Good."

"No, no, ah'll go for the cure."

“I’m glad to see you’ve turned around.”

“Ah’ll be going home now.”

“What?”

“Ah’m going home to pack, Princess. Ah’m going to pack for the journey.”

“Good luck.”

“Thanks. Break ah leg yourself.”

As Apple Bloom closed the door, Celestia fell off of her chair and landed rather uncomfortably on her leg.

“She wasn’t kidding when she said break a leg.”
