Star Note was the first one to wake up. The chill wind and light sprinkle coming from above are what roused him from his slumber. Sapphire was in the same position she fell asleep in. She was in his hooves. It all seemed so surreal. He wanted this, yet, it didn't seem right. Star Note thought about getting up and going for a walk, but thought better of it. He didn't want to wake Sapphire. She looked beautiful. Her blonde mane was gently swaying in the breeze. He could feel her gentle breaths going in and out. The light sprinkle had picked up into a light drizzle. After giving it some thought, Star Note decided to carry Sapphire under a tree with a heavy canopy. This woke the gentle mare from her sleep.

"*yawn* Oh hey Star Note. How did you sleep?" Sapphire said groggily.

"I slept alright. I carried you under this tree. As you can see, it's raining. I thought you'd appreciate it if I got you out of the drizzle. So, how did you sleep?" Star Note said nonchalantly.

"I slept extraordinarily well." Sapphire's stomach barged in on the conversation. "Heh...I think we should get something to eat." Sapphire was bright red.

"Sure, but first, where does this leave us? I mean...we kinda...you know...slept in each other's hooves." Star Note looked down at padded at the ground.

"What do you mean?" A look of revelation crossed her face. "Oh..umm..I don't know...I..uhh...can we talk about this later?"

Star Note sighed and looked up at Sapphire. "Fine. If I remember correctly, it's my turn to choose where we go. So...let's go to..hmm...The Jade Pearl. I heard they have great breakfast. Literally whatever you want to eat they have."

"Sounds good. Race you!" Sapphire shot off ahead of Star Note. She was a pegasus so she definitely had the advantage here.

"Cheater!" He called. He then shot a magic bolt that covered Sapphire in marshmallow goop. "You didn't even say go!" When he caught up to her, he cleaned the marshmallow off and then started a fair race with a fireworks shot into the grey sky. Sapphire's wings were bound and Star Note wasn't allowed to use magic. It was a close race, but Sapphire just barely beat Star Note. They walked into The Jade Pearl laughing and wet from head to toe.

A very disgusted looking waiter lead them to their table and ordered their drinks. Star Note ordered their signature beverage; Jade Tea. Sapphire ordered plain orange juice. As they waited for their drinks, the pair conversed as friends do.

"You know, I've been thinking." Began Star Note. "We've been spending a lot of time together. And that time has been getting more and more...intimate...and..I want to know how you feel about all this."

Sapphire pondered this for a moment. "I couldn't tell you, because I don't know. I don't know how I feel about this. I just let it happen and take it as it comes. A part of me wants to make more of it than there is, wants to over analyze it. I just...I just don't know Star."

Star Note looked like a mix between elation and disappointment. "Oh, okay. Well...I uh..." Star Note desperately wanted to tell her how he felt. "Oh hey! Drinks are here!"

The waiter looked as if he had just witnessed a man try to publicly humiliate another person and ended up getting humiliated himself in a very smelly manner. "Are you ready to order? Or shall I bring out our appetizers while you decide?"

Star Note became puzzled. "Appetizers? At breakfast?"

The waiter acted as if Star Note was an insane man who had just cursed his mother. "Yes. Appetizers at breakfast. It's part of a new restaurant craze. Have you been living under a rock?"

Now it was Star Note's turn to look offended. Luckily, Sapphire caught his eye and shook her head. "Yes. We'll have the appetizers while we decide what we want." And with that and a hoity toity head toss, the waiter went to get the food that was to tide them while they waited.

"Man, that is the one problem with this place. The waiters are so judgemental and snooty." Star Note said. He then took a sip of his hot Jade Tea. "But damn if their tea isn't the best! *ahem* uh..sorry about that..it's just the tea..but uhh...what're you gonna get?"

"Oh probably...hmm...Eggs Benedict."

"Heh..that's what I was gonna get..how improbable.."

"Star Note.."

"Yeah?"

"Just shut up and kiss me."

Star Note was phased at that moment. He didn't know if he was dreaming or if this was reality. Only when Sapphire's lips met his did he know for sure it wasn't a dream. Today was the greatest day ever....that is, until the waiter came back.

The waiter cleared his throat loudly. For once, he wasn't scowling. He was actually smiling. "Ahh young love" he said quietly to himself. "You're appetizer is here. Enjoy." With a graceful bow, the waiter left the two alone. He would've taken their order, but he knew they were sharing a moment.

"What just happened?" Said Star Note, still in a daze.

"Do you mean the kiss or the waiter?" Sapphire replied giggling.

"Both, but mainly the kiss."

"Well you don't hide it very well. You've had a crush on me for a really long time. And I thought I would let you know that way."

"So, does this mean you like me too Sapphire?"

"...yes..."

Sometimes, it takes others to show you how much people care.
