Young Aaron Skyrider
Chapter 3 : An Unbreakable Bond
Previous ChapterHowever, chasing dreams can sometimes be difficult and tough. Several days later, the young Pegasus was outside cruising around in the sky. It seemed to be a fine afternoon, but not for long. Aaron was soaring around, enjoying his time in the sky without realizing that he was very far away from home, somewhere above a forest in Equestria. He was not aware about what was going to happen as he continued to playfully fly around the forest. The clear blue sky started to get darker as a storm appeared in just a few minutes. Very strong winds were blowing and large group of dark clouds were getting closer, almost covering the whole forest below. The young Pegasus became aware that he had to get back home fast before a very heavy downpour begins. Otherwise, he will be in great trouble trying to get to somewhere safe. He began to fly out heading to the direction of Cloudsdale, but when he thinks he was going to make it out of the storm, a strong air current blew Aaron back into where he was before. When he got his body back to an upright position, he found himself back in the middle of the storm. The storm began to rain heavily with winds strong enough to shake the trees in the forest. Aaron was being flipped around in mid air by the strong wave of wind but he managed to hold himself on top of a tree. The moment he regained his balance on the top of the tree, the young Pegasus dashed forward again, trying to fly out of the storm. His wings got heavier as the rain water soaked his feathers which he had to use more energy to fly. Not only that but flying against the wind was also taking up most of his strength. He could only hope that the wind would stop blowing, just to give him enough time to fly out of the storm. Unfortunately, it did not happen. Another strong wave of wind blew again. Aaron once again was pushed back into the storm and was going to crash down onto the thick forest below.
Just when he thought that he would collide into the trees below, Aaron’s dad flew in fast and caught the young Pegasus with both hooves and they both land on the ground. His dad had earlier noticed the change of wind and he guessed that a storm is approaching where Aaron was, and luckily, he was right. With no time wasted, he immediately sets out to search for the young Pegasus, where he made it in time to catch Aaron’s fall. He sighed with relieve and told Aaron that they have to get out of this storm fast because it would get worst if they don’t. The forest was now dark, but they decided to try to get out of the storm by flying in the dark forest. They cannot move fast enough because the range of their vision was limited. Suddenly, a thunder strikes a tree in front of the two Pegasus, sending it tumbling down on the ground. Both Aaron and his dad instantly came to a halt. The storm had now became a thunderstorm. His dad then decided to fly out of the thunderstorm by flying above of the forest, but Aaron told his dad that it is almost impossible with the strong wind that was blowing. They needed to think of a way out fast. Thus, the older Pegasus tells his colt to wait for a bit as he flew to the top, looking around for a place that they could go to for the moment. After a few seconds of searching, Aaron’s dad spotted a cave just a few hundred meters away. He then heads back down to the young Pegasus and told him about it. They both instantly made their way towards the cave as fast as they can in the thunderstorm and in the dark forest. Another lightning struck a tree behind them, but as it tumbled down, it knocked down another tree beside them and another in front of them. His dad shouted in the storm, telling Aaron to stay close to him as they dodge the falling trees, moving swiftly from one tree to another.
Both of them managed to reach the cave before a tree fell at the entrance of the cave. If another tree were to fall, it would block the entrance and they would be trap there. Aaron was tired and felt that he would not be strong enough to fly out. The thunderstorm and the falling trees affected his will to escape. His dad puts his hoof under the young Pegasus’s chin and pushes his head up, telling him that he is a great flier, and the greatest colt he could ever had. He promised him that they will escape the thunderstorm and they will get home safely no matter what happens. Aaron replied with nod and a smile that was filled with confidence and hope. He and his dad licked their own hoof and pushed their mane back and without anymore hesitation, they both once again head back into the sky where they would exit the storm from high above. As they approach the dark thunderstorm clouds, the young Pegasus stayed close, just right behind at his dad’s tail. Aaron followed close to his dad as they dodge lightning that leaped from one cloud to another, flying pass charged clouds with their exceptional flying skills together. Like stallion like colt, their flights were much synchronized to each other. The rhythm of their wings and the way that they flew were very much the same. And soon, the exit became visible. The sunlight was shining in from a hole in the storm which would lead their way to safety.
However, Aaron got too tired to continue. His wings stopped flapping and he began to fall. His dad realized it and quickly turns back around with a quick dive towards Aaron. With a swift curve, he caught the young Pegasus with his hooves and continued to fly towards the exit. They don’t have much time as charged clouds were slowly closing up the exit above. His dad flew full speed ahead with all his strength as the hole got smaller and smaller. At the very last second when the hole was closed…Aaron and his dad shot out high into the bright sky, successfully escaped from the terrifying thunderstorm below. The warm sunlight greeted them as they shook the water off from their tail, body and mane. Aaron, who was in his dad’s hooves, looked up at him where he saw a warm smile. Their bodies might be cold, but their hearts were warm like the sun. They both then made their way back to their cloudhome with warm hearts and a smile on their faces, relieved and happy that they managed to escape from the thunderstorm. Back home, Aaron’s mom was waiting with two dry towels on each side of her wing. His dad puts the young Pegasus down as his mom quickly pulled a towel over Aaron’s body. Aaron dried himself with the towel, and then he looked at his mom, thanking her with a huge smile. Tears rolled down her cheek as she pulled the young Pegasus into a very warm and tight hug. She was really worried and is now very happy to see that they’re both back home, safely. His dad joined in the hug where their cold bodies were now covered with warmth. And soon, they all head back inside for a hot cup of tea and some much needed rest.
Even after that incident, the young Pegasus is still outside in the blue sky, flying everyday to improve his flight skills, gaining more and different abilities as he practices. Giving up was now never an option to the young Pegasus. But the adventure for this young Pegasus is not over yet. All that time he was being watched by another mysterious Pegasus who remained in the shadows high above on the clouds. More crazy, scary and even funny journey awaits for Aaron in the future. The story continues for this young, wild and free Pegasus as he will soon find out the Pegasus who has been following him.
