Chapter 3: Date Night

It is nearing the time for Soarin to pick up Dash for there date night and he still can't find a tie to wear with his black suit.  So far he went through about ten ties and bow ties and he is having difficulty choosing between a red bow tie and a black tie.  He is standing in front of a mirror in Dash's home while Dash is at Rarity's getting a dress ready for her.

After some time he finally decided to go with the bow tie and after he put down the tie he then uses his wings to put on the tie.  After about ten minutes of tying and retying the tie, he finally got it right until he hears a laugh from the doorway and when he turned towards it, he notices that Spectrum is standing there and says "What's so funny sir?"

Spectrum then walked in and says "No need for the sir, you can call me dad and you trying on that tie is funny, I remember on some of my dates with Firefly I always have trouble trying on a suit and she ends up helping me."

"That sounds nice."

"And don't worry about it, I'm sure Dash will be happy to see you."

Soarin and Spectrum both then laugh until Soarin checked the time and realized that he has only five minutes until he has to go meet Dash. "Oh my, I need to get going.  Goodbye sir I mean dad I mean sir."

After he grabbed some bits and left, Spectrum was about to leave when he sees a booklet underneath the bed which he grabs and sits down on the bed and opened it and sees pictures of him, Dash and his wife Firefly which for some reasons brought a tear to his eye and thought "Well Firefly, Dash has grown up to a nice beautiful mare and she even has a stallion whom I know you'll like."

Soarin was racing towards the Boutique thinking "Ponyfeathers, hope I'm not late."

Soarin then sees the Boutique and he then took a quick look at the clock tower and he sees he is only a few minutes left until he remembered "Oh no!  Flowers, I need flowers."

He then did a nosedive and landed in front of a rose stand very suddenly which caused some of the flowers to be blow away.  Soarin then looked up and sees the cream colored pony and says "Sorry, I need some flowers."

"Alright, since you seem to be in a hurry, you can have six flowers for twelve bits."

After she got some flowers Soairn then give her the twelve bits and says "Thanks Roseluck."

He then went off leaving Roseluck standing at her stand wishing she had a stallion whom cared and gave her flowers.  Until some stallion come up to her.

Soarin then finally landed in front of the Boutique with some of the flowers in a mess.  He doesn't notice it though but he doesn't care and instead knocked on the door.  But instead of Dash, her friend Rarity answers who says "Well, at least you made it even though you're a minute late but I know Dash and she may not mine so come on in."

Soarin then went inside and the first thing he sees that the inside of the boutique is clean and nice but no sign of Rainbow Dash.  He was about to ask Rarity where she is until he hears hoofsteps coming from the stairs which caused him to turn towards there and what he sees made his jaw dropped.

Rainbow Dash is wearing the same headdress that she wore at the Gals and he was wearing some gold hoofwear, also her trail that leads over her flank is in the color of the rainbow with some trimming that resembles clouds.  In fact the dress looked almost like her dress that she wore at that one time at the Gala and she seems to be wearing some makeup.

"Hey there, better close your mouth or it would stay that way."

Hearing her voice brought him out of his shock which caused him to hand her the flowers and say "Here, these are for you."

Dash then went up to him and took the flowers and says "Thanks Soarin, these are nice." She then leaned in and kissed him on the cheek which caused his wings to stick out and make him blush a bit.

They then heard a giggle which they find out is Rarity which she said "Alright you two lovebirds, how about you save some more later on your date."

All three of them then laugh and Dash says "Alright, come on Soarin."

Soarin then follows her and Rarity is watching them which caused her to sigh and say "Young love."

"So Soarin, where are we going?"

"Well, I heard it is a small restaurant that opened some time ago."

"Sweet, let's go."

Both of them then went off to the new café and as soon as they arrive, they see a small line at the front entrance and as soon as they land, they went to the front door and were greeted by a pony in a black tie that says "Hello, do you have a reservation?"

"Yes we do it is under Soarin."

The pony is then looking through the list until he finally finds it and says "Soarin, here you are you may go in and we will have a waitress take you to your table and serve you."

They then went inside and what they see is that it is half full and on the right is a bar that they see Berry Punch behind and serving some ponies that are sitting there.  And to the left is many tables and straight ahead seems to be a stage that seems to have no pony for now except for some instruments.  Soarin and Dash were then greated by a white coated and blue mane and tail who greeted them and says "Hello, I'm Rene and I'll be your server.  Please follow me and I'll show you to your table."

Soarin nodded his head and both he and Dash followed there waiter and were shown to there table which was near window that was facing town hall.  After they sat down the waiter gives them each a menu and says "All right then here are your menus and can I get you anything to drink?"

"Sure, do you have apple cider?" said Soarin

"Yes we do."

"Well then two glasses of your finest apple cider please."

The waiter then nods her head and heads off.  Soarin then looks down at the table set up and sees a small rack that holds salt, pepper, and sugar and in front of him is some forks and a napkin.  He was looking at it until he hears Dash says "So, how was your time away from me I'm sure you missed me."

Soarin laughs and says "Of course I miss you."

"Well then, how was your time away?"

Soarin thinks for a bit then says "Well, I had to show some new recruits at the Wonderbolt Academy because Spitfire was sick for a week with the feather flu and let me tell you, it was very tough."

"Sweet, so who are the new recruits."

"Well, Lightning Dust was one, and I forget the others."

Dash then got a surprised look and says "Wait Lighting, she's came back?"

"Yeah, she came back but she was better and became a better team player and between you and me, I think my twin brother Wave Chill took a liking to her."

Dash laughs but then she stops and says "Well, at least she is better."

Before he could say anything else there waitress came back with there drinks and says "Here are your drinks and are you two ready to order?"

Both of them then picked up there menus and Dash says "Well, I'll have the veggie salad with some cheese bread."

"Ok and for you sir?"

"Well, I'll have the same."

The waitress then nods her head and after jotting them down on a notepad she then walks off and left them to continue talking.

"So how did you find about Wave Chill and Lighting being together?"

"Well both of them have been dating for almost a month and one time I found them kissing each other in the mess hall at the academy.  It was pretty funny neither of us knew which one of us was more shocked me or them."

Dash then giggled for a bit and says "Hey Soarin, I'm wondering, I know that you and Spitfire were once together right?"

Soarin just nods and Dash continued "Well, how does she feel about me and you?"

"She's cool with it, actually she is seeing another stallion that's on the team named Fire Streak."

"Wait, Isn't he her brother?"

"No, that's Rapidfire and he is with Fleetfoot."

"When did that happen?"

"It was after a race that they had and well, they just hit it off right there and then."

Both of them then sat there for a while until Soarin says "I'm curious Dash, you told me very little about Scootaloo, do you know anything else about her?"

"Well to be honest, she is an orphan and we barely know anything about her parents."

"Oh, I'm very sorry to hear about that."

Dash just grunts and says "It's ok at least the orphanage she was at is nice."

"Wait was?"

"Oh her teacher, Ms. Cheerilee was nice enough to adopt her, but me and her hang out a lot."

"That was nice of her."

"Yep and want to know what's strange, her and Big Mac are together."

Soarin laughs a little and Dash joined him.  Both of them then continued to talk until the waitress comes along with there food which the dug into.

After they are done, they start to hear music and when they looked towards the stage they see a grey mare on a cello and a brown stallion on a piano also some couples going up to dance and Soarin says "Dash, may I have this dance?"  While extending a hoof to Dash.

"Sure Soarin."

Both of them then joined the other couples on the dance floor.  The music was a slow and sounded romantic.  They were dancing until they hear a pony say "Hey! Watch where your going!"

They then look towards the commotion and noticed some random stallion yelling at a young mare whom Dash recognized "Hey, that's Ditzy."

Before the stallion could yell at her some more a brown stallion with a hourglass as a cutie mark came up to him and says "Hey, leave her alone."

"Why?  Who are you to tell me that?"

"I'm her coltfriend and why don't you leave before you make a scene and embarrass yourself in front of your date!"

The stallion then looked around and stomped off with his date and the stallion then took Ditzy and left and payed for there evening."

"Wow, good thing she has a stallion with her." said Saorin

"That would be Time Turner, he actually met her a couple of months ago."

"Well the mood seem to be gone how about I take you home?"

"Ok."

After they went to the front and payed for there dinner, they then went on home and as soon as they got there, they then went on inside and Dash says "Well, I guess Dad is in bed."

Soarin then wraps his hooves around her and his head on her shoulder and says "I guess we should head to bed also."

Dash then put a hoof on his cheek and says "I guess we should."

Both of them then went on into there room and after they undress they then went into bed holding each other.
