The son of Hecate
Aftermath
Previous ChapterI woke up bound to a wall by chains. I tried to unlock them with a spell, but instead of the lock opening, it didn't. I was shocked.
"Shocking isn't it?" Came a voice behind me. I turned and saw a six foot tall insect-creature with pointy fangs and holes the size of golf balls in her legs.
"What are you?" I questioned.
"Changelings." She answered. "Beings banished to this part of the world to feed off of love."
"Cool story bro. I don't care." As soon as I said that, one of the other changelings tried to punch me but I dodged and kneed him in the face. The chains again shocked me beyond belief.
"Tsk tsk tsk. You shouldn't really do that." The changeling stated.
"Look. I'm here for a demigod. You let her go, I might think about letting you all live." The changeling just burst into laughter.
"I doubt you have the power to kill anyone without your weapons."
"Don't underestimate me. I am Promettis, second lieutenant of the Titan Army! I fought alongside Kronos himself!" I was of course lying. I wasn't a second lieutenant.
"Haha, that's hilarious. Prove it." I turned to my side to show the scythe tattoo. "Bring him to solitary. NOW!!" Instantly, I was unchained and thrown into a cell in the east wing of the underground city. All the buildings were more like spires and were made of chitin. The changelings flew around the town doing whatever.
"Hehe. This is going to be awesome." I muttered and looked at my wrists..... my unchained wrists. I was too busy to notice my unchained wrists before I was tackled and pinned. I looked up to see Thalia, her electric blue eyes staring down at me almost covered by short, choppy hair.
"Well well, well, Promettis, I thought I would never find you." She said. "I'm going to kill you."
"Doubt it."
"Oh why might that be?"
"Well for instance, back on Earth you had at least 20 chances to kill me, but never did. And now you know that you need my help to escape from this place." The hunter looked at me for a couple seconds and slowly got up to go to her side of the cell.
"Fine, but we need to get out soon." She said.
"Yeah." I agreed and examined the lock. I tried to unlock it with a spell, but the lock only sizzled.
"Here, let me try." Thalia then walked over to me and punched the lock off.
"Why didn't you do that when you got here? How did you even do that?" I asked.
"One, my father told me someone was here that was going to help me. Two, it's all in the leverage and momentum. You could do it too if you wanted to." She answered. I just sighed and walked outside the cell, fortunately all the guards were playing some sort of card game didn't notice us leaving the cell.
"I'll take the one on the left if you take the one on the right." Thalia nodded, but something else happened all together. Two pony skeletons came up from the surface and strangled both of the changelings. They were still alive, but they were out cold.
"Hey Thalia. Long time no see." Came a voice from behind us. Instantly, we both turned to see a guy around fifteen years old. He looked a lot older and had a stygian iron sword on his hip. He looked malnourished like a skelton with skin.
"Nico, how'd you get here?" Thalia asked. Nico just shrugged,
"I don't know."
"Are you a son of Hades?" He nodded. "You look familiar, well we have no time for that. We need to get out of here." I said. They nodded and we sprinted down the hallway to find our confiscated items. Soon we found the warden's office. Fortunately for him, he was asleep so we tied him up and left him there. At the back of the room there was a big chest labeled "PRISONER ITEMS". Thalia again punched the lock off and the chest slowly opened. Inside there were both Thalia's and my weapons. Two minutes later, we were back off running down the hallway with all of our weapons, ambrosia, everything.
"Hey. Where are all of those weird insect things?" Nico asked. Then I realized all the changelings weren't flying around like usual. Nico and I looked over the edge of a balcony used for guards and saw them all in the center of the city. The biggest one, the one from earlier stood on the stage and cleared her throat.
"Changelings, long have we dwelled in this barren land. Long have we been rejected and hated from all. Soon we shall march onto Canterlot and be rulers of Equestria, like our ancestors 1,000 years ago!" When she finished, the crowd erupted into cheering. I was going to say something to the others, but some guards who were supposed to give us food saw us and sounded an alarm. We tackled two of the three and Nico made a skeletal hand grab for the last one so he wouldn't get away.
"And here we go." I muttered. We all sprinted towards a door at the end of the hallway and down the stairs. There was a loud sound of buzzing from the changelings outside.
"They're waiting for us." Thalia said. She pressed her ear to a wall. "Any ideas Promettis?" I thought for several seconds and remembered that only Thailia had to make it into Ponyville for the deal to work. Nico could help her get there.
"I'll cause a distraction. You need to get to Ponyville fron here." I handed her the map of Equestria. "Don't worry about me. Nico makes sure she gets there." He nodded and I ran up the staircase. When I reached the top of the stairs, I saw all the changelings flying above the building the staircase led too. After taking a deep breath, I began the spell that almost killed me many years ago. "BURNING STORM!"I screamed as fire erupted from my hands. The fire was white instead of orange from the intense heat. The size of the actual flame made my Incinerate Spell look like a pocket lighter. After a few moments that felt like hours, the spell stopped, leaving me incredibly weak. All the changelings looked perfectly fine ,angry, but fine. "They must be immune to fire. Well life was fun while it lasted." With all my strength I pulled out 2 AA-12's one in each hand and screamed, "LEROYYYYY JENKINNNNNSSSSSSS!!" I don't know why I said that, but it felt right. And after my battle scream, I opened fire. I don't know how long I fired. Seconds? Minutes? Hours? Time is a constant effect but we rarely know exactly how it acts on us. The changelings surrounded me. They had swords and claws that were poisoned and stung the skin which felt like ice in my veins. Whether it was from pain or exhaustion, the world was blurry and I was just blind firing. It wasn't long after before I was overwhelmed by the massive number of changelings.
I woke up bound to wall in even tighter chains and barely alive. The world was still black which meant only one thing. The poison blinded me.
"Ugh. I fell like I was hit by a train."
"You're lucky you feel anything below you neck." The voice was full of spite. "I am Queen Chrysalis and I will not stand for such an insult!" She slammed her hooves on I guess a table because I heard clattering of glasses. "You come in here, slaughter my people, burn my city and make me lose my prisoners!"
'They made it out?! Great! Hopefully they can get to Ponyville.', I thought to myself.
"You prefer to be silent eh? Good, I'll make you squeal." There was a slight sound of metal in front of me.
'Great. Now I'm going to get tortured. What can I possibly know? There was a huge pain in my hand where the blade made contact. I screamed in pain as she slowly twisted the blade back and forth increasing the pain. She pulled it out and stabbed the other hand with it. Again I screamed in pain and she twisted the blade.
"Do you believe in an eye for an eye? HUH?! My son was in the death toll. MY SON!" Chrysalis yelled at me. I felt no need to reply. Her face was inches from mine. So close I felt her breaths on my face. "I'm going to ki-" She was cut of by me head butting her. And before any the guards could react I used my incinerate spell but instead of using my hands I used my feet so I rocketed up and slammed the back of the chair into Chrysalis, luckily the chair broke which allowed me to run. Unfortunately, due to my blindness I didn't know where the door was and was thrown back down by the guards. Instantly after I heard Chrysalis get up, I felt a hot piece of metal near my face. I laid there accepting the fact that I was going to die. That I would never set foot outside. Then, a miracle happened. There was a deafening sound of lightning and the weight went off my body so I could stand up.
"You didn't think we'd leave you here. Did you?" I knew that voice. It was Thaila's! For some reason I guess she came back.
"I can't see. You'll have to be my eyes." I informed her, but just then a huge explosion went off and there was the sound of roars of griffons which kind of sound like a mix between a roar and a screech.
"I brought help." Thailia stated.
"How?!?!"
"It seems the griffins hate the changelings as much as us."
"But how did you get to their kingdom? It's only been a day."
"Nico can Shadow Travel."
"Shadow what?"
"He kind of teleports through some weird limbo like dimension. I'll have Nico explain it later. Come on!" She grabbed my wrist and she sprinted out of the room. All throughout the streets of the city, I heard conflict. We were running from a battlefield.
"How are we gonna get through this?!" I asked.
"We're not, we have to get out through the eastern gate. Nico is waiting for us with our ride to Ponyville." Thailia explained. We were about to run until a deep voice came from behind us,
"I can help you. Just keep running. My archers will try to keep the changelings at bay."
"Thanks Marcus." Thailia said.
"Don't thank me yet. RUN!!" He shouted. and so we did. While we were running we heard all the changelings around us getting hit by arrows. I'm surprised not even one got to us. After what seemed like hours but what were probably minutes, we made it outside. It was amazing to feel the sun's heat on my face.
"Hey guys." Nico greeted behind us. "Oh Promettis, here's your stuff. Complements of the warden." He then threw my bulletproof vest at me and since I couldn't see it, it hit me square in the face.
"We need one more skeleton horse for Promettis." Thailia said and I heard Nico snap his fingers and crackling bones from nearby.
"Oh hey Promettis, a word of advice hang on." After getting on the horse it blastback towards the changeling city.
"NOOOOO!" Surprisingly though, the horse never made contact with the building. I instantly felt like I was in an air tunnel, only it was really high powered. It felt like my skin was going to tear off. Then all of a sudden it stopped. The birds were chirping, the sun was back to shining on my face. I smelt newly cut grass as the horse treaded along.
"OK, well that was...... interesting." I muttered.
"So Promettis, where to?" Nico asked.
"In the center of town there's a library. We should go there, but first lets get rid of the horses. We don't want to scare the natives."
"Good idea." And just like that they disintegrated into ash and we were walking along. "Hey Promettis, what about your hands? They look pretty bad."
"Oh yeah, adrenaline made me forget the pain."
"Here I got it." Thailia murmured and walked over to me. Several second later, my hands were wrapped in ambrosia soaked cloths and felt remarkably better.
"Thank you." I said and we continued the walk back in silence. Many ponies in the town greeted me but were a little afraid if Thailia and Nico. I can't really blame them. Thailia looked down right intimidating with her ripped up jacket, jeans not to mention her replica of Aegis, the shield used by her father, Zeus. Nico however didn't look tough, but he had a weird feeling surrounding him like he was death itself.
It wasn't long before we reached the library. There was a sign on the huge oak tree inside the library that read, "CLOSED" We knocked anyway. It wasn't long before we heard a very disgruntled Twilight Sparkle open the door and basically yell,
"WE'RE CLOSED!!!!." But right before she slammed the door I felt her staring daggers at me. "Where have you been?!"
'Oh no. I'm dead.'
"I have been worried sick! Your note too by the way you might as well not of written it. I mean you just leave without telling anybody, so I ask favors to try and find you and you show up looking like a prisoner of war.
"Funny thing about that. You see I..." I began but the world just faded into black.
"Beep......beep.......beep." I slowly opened my eyes to see one of those heart monitor things and a mirror. I looked terrible. I was filthy, cut, bruised everything.
"You look better blind Promettis," I chuckled at my joke, then came to the realization, "MY EYES! I CAN SEE!"
"Yes, yes, quite a surgery. Changeling poison is very hard to get rid of." Came a unicorn. He had a tan coat and brown hair. He was going to continue talking but the door swung open to reveal all my pony friends and my human allies.
"How yah feeling sugarcube?" Applejack asked.
"Well I feel a lot better than I look that's for sure." I answered I began to get up but that same unicorn who I thought was my doctor spoke up,
"No, you need bed rest."
"I'm fine. I've been through worse." I stood up all the way and was tackled by Twilight giving me a huge hug. I hugged her back and even after I let go she still hung on to me like a monkey. "Uhh Twilight, you can let go now." She muttered,
"Oh sorry." And she blushed a little bit.
"Well if you not going to get rest here get it soon, the anti-venom will have serious side effects." The doctor ordered.
"Like what?" I asked.
"Well you'll be kind of loopy and incoherent for a day, so sleeping it off is the best way to make sure nothing seriously bad happens."
"Ok Doc, whatever you say." So when we got back to the library, Twilight insisted on me sleeping so I didn't object. Thalia and Nico were left to go on a tour of the town with Rainbow dash and Applejack while Pinkie Pie planned a surprise Welcome to Ponyville Party for them.
After several hours, I woke up to see Twilight sleeping. Her head rested one the nightstand next to me. She slowly began to wake up to but I faked asleep.
"Well, you look peaceful. Hehe. What am I going to do with you?" She muttered. "You haven't been in equestrian for less than a month and you saved the town, rescued your friends, and...."
"Pstt Twilight?" I heard Spike whisper.
"Yeah Spike. I'm here."
"Well, its time for dinner."
"Ok." I heard Twilight stand up and the slight sound of her hooves hitting the oak floor. Then all of a sudden she leaned in and kissed me on the cheek. After that she sprinted out the door. Instantly my eyes shot open and rubbed the part of the cheek where she kissed me.
'She kissed me! We are different species. I mean come to think of it she's just a human with hooves.. and incredible soft fur and adorable eyes. WAIT, WHAT!!' I shook my head repetitively to shake the thought from my mind.
"Do I... have a crush on Twilight?!" I whispered to myself. "No... no, ugh." I got out of bed and went to the kitchen even though I wasn't hungry. "Things are going to get really complicated."
