Chapter 1: The Arrival

Jake woke up to the sound of his sister slamming her bedroom door, across from his room, as she stormed angrily  towards the front of the house, which was shortly followed by another slamming of yet another door then a car engine starting. Jake sighed to himself thinking about what meaningless tasks he will accomplish today, while deciding if he should all back asleep, or get up and actually do something. Not surprisingly sleep won in a landslide, however, Jake just wasn't meant to sleep. It felt like as soon as he closed his eyes his dog was licking him in the eye to wake him up. It certainly worked, while scaring him half to death at the same time as he quickly shot up in shock. He just simply glare at the dog while, who was completely oblivious to what it had done, starting scratching at the door to be let outside.

After getting sick of listening to the ear wrenching sound of its claws running over the metal fly screen, Jake finally gets up and stumbles to the back door to let the dog outside. Who happily resounds by barking at the bird in the old, dying tree outside in his family’s yard. Mumbling to himself about regretting getting such a yappy dog, Jake goes back to his room, grabs his laptop and mouse and slowly makes his way to his favourite spot to set up for the day.

Switching on his laptop, Jake’s mind wanders about how much his life has gotten worse since school finished for him. Remember about how his Dad had conveniently forgotten about nearly everything important in Jakes life, then how his sister is always angry and hasn't been happy since there mum passed away a few years ago. Thinking of his mother, Jake starts thinking of his happy memorise before he’s interrupted by his stomach growling very loudly in hunger.

Immediately forgetting about his happy memorise Jake drifts back into reality and starts heading towards the kitchen. Opening the fridge he realises how little food he has at home and simply closes the door not being bothered to make anything. Jake starts walking back to his laptop, while snatching an apple from the fruit bowl thinking, I never really have breakfast so there is no point getting a real meal.

As he slumps down onto the chair, he grabs his apple in his mouth holding it there, while reaching over to place his laptop is his lap. Then taking a bite from the apple and taking it out of his mouth, Jakes just goes into his usual routine; typing in his password, opening Google chrome, then checking the same things he checks every day, to see if anything new has happened. Once he's done and realises nothing has changed since doing the same thing yesterday, Jake starts browsing YouTube in hopes to be at least slightly entertained. After fruitlessly browsing for an hour, Jake gives up and closes his laptop out of frustration, while sighing angrily. He then starts whispering to himself "I wish something interesting would happen in my life," unknowingly to him, Jake didn't realise that what he just said was going to make an extremely large change to his life starting later that day.

A few hours later, Jake was back on his Laptop again, thinking about how really should get another job, so he has something to do during the weekdays, so he isn't bored to death by them. That's when he first noticed it. A slight breeze inside the house, which seemed to be trying to push him out of his chair. At first, Jake thought nothing of it and went back to pointlessly browsing the internet. However, it slowly got stronger and more uncomfortable for him and was beginning to get curious. Nothing ever happens around home, so Jake decides he might as well check it out at least, seemly there isn't anything better to do.

As soon as Jake had gotten up from his seat, the breeze suddenly become a lot colder and more forceful then before, causing him to shiver slightly. Again thinking nothing of it and just being curious. Jake lets the breeze lead him to where ever it wanted him to go. Jake stopped suddenly thinking of his actions, and slightly chuckles to himself. "If there's a breeze it's properly just from an open window," Jake mumbled, while now going against the breeze.

As Jake was going towards the breeze now, he couldn't help but start to think how stupid he felt about, going with the breeze. However, the breeze didn't lead to a window or even a door as Jake expected, it led him straight back to his chair, and somehow the closer he was to the source the less cold the breeze felt. Now Jake was well and truly curious as to what on earth this breeze was and what to do about it. It didn't take long for him to decide on what he was doing before and see where the breeze was heading. Jake now walked briskly, with new found determination, following the breeze to see what happened when he reached the end.

The Breeze was now officially cold, Jake was shivering from it now, but he thinks he has found what it was leading to. The Cupboard. Jake couldn't help but feel like glaring at the door, “This stupid, cold breeze, leads me to the cupboard,” Jake started muttering. Jake just continued to stand there glaring at the door in hopes that his questions would be answered; however, surprising the Cupboard door did nothing, so Jake glared harder.

After Jack realised what he was doing, he couldn't help but laugh. It finally hit him that he was anger at a door, so he just continued to laugh. After Jake had calmed down from laughing at a door, he put his ear to it, to see if he could hear anything on the other side. It sounded like a vacuum cleaner, which gave Jake  confused look, “This isn’t where the Vacuum is kept so why on earth is it here let along on and working,” Jack frowned while concentrating. Finally Jakes curiosity finally got the better of him and he opened the cupboard door to see why the vacuum was in there, however, what Jake saw was definitely not a vacuum cleaner.

Jake looked into the cupboard with terror. There was a shimmering light of varying colours of blue, which seemed to suck inwards into some type of vortex. Jake just simple stood there dumbstruck, thinking nothing but, why is this in the cupboard, over and over again. Finally curiosity got the better of him again. Jake reached his hand slowly towards the shimmering light and attempted to touch it. As soon as the tip of his finger touches the shimmering blue lights. He black out.

Jake felt like he was dreaming. He wasn't sure what was happening, but everything felt like it was rushing passed him at incredible speeds, it also seemed as if these things were slowly speeding up the further he went. He wasn't sure why but the feeling had a somewhat calming effect on his nerves. It just simple made him feel relaxed. However, as much as he was enjoying this weightless feeling he slowly remembered the shimmering blue lights swirling around in a vortex type funnel. He slowly opened his eyes out of curiosity and immediately wished he didn't. The calming effect vanished immediately replaced with pure terror as to what was happening. Jake was falling from the sky straight down, into what looking like an apple orchid.

Panic seized him. He began flailing his limbs in attempt to slow down in some fashion however not everything responded as it was meant to.  Still in panic mode Jake looked at his arms which were now a dark blue and ended immediately at the end of his wrist. Jake's Jaw dropped as he realised his legs where the same and that he was covered in fur! For a small Moment Jake forgot he was falling and stared in total disbelief at what he could see of himself. However, that’s when he realized how close the ground was.

Jake couldn't help but repeatedly think, “ I'm dead, I'm dead,” over and over again in his mind. Then somehow as if my magic his fall seemed to slow down as if he would survive the fall and land safely on the ground. However, that was just a cruel trick. Jake did slow down but still feel head first into a tree. Immense pain shot through his entire body as he seemed to hit ever branch on the way down. Finally Jake hit the ground, unsure of how he is still alive. Laying upside down Jake feels pain although his body and his vision starts to blur. He can see and orange horse running towards him. No not a horse it seemed to small maybe a pony? Just as the orange thing was just near him, Jakes visions faded more, until he completely blacked out due to the pain.
