Finding a New Home

"Merzero! Grab your things! We're leaving!", I heard my mom yelling from the ground floor of my empty house.

"Yeah mom! Just taking a look around!", I responded halfheartedly. I just didn't want to leave, you know? But we had to, my mother got a great job in some town called... What was it? Oh, yeah, some town called Ponyville. She was sent there to do some structural work on the buildings, since she was the best architect the city, and maybe the world, had ever seen. I didn't take too long, so when I felt ready, I joined my mother and little sister in the entrance of my home.

"Ready everyone?", inquired my mother. My sister looked at me.

"Yes!", we both responded excitedly.

"Ok then! Let's go!", she announced. We all piled into the car, stuffing our leftover luggage in the trunk. My mom had already made trips to the place with furniture and luggage so we didn't have much left to take. She turned on the car and strapped herself in, and my sister and I did the same. My mother looked in her rear-view mirrors, making sure they were in place. She finally backed out of the driveway and we headed off to the airport. We drove past famous places in the city, like the many museums and art galleries, and these places brought back many memories. When we finally got to the airport, we parked the car in a special loading zone, because we were taking it with us to Ponyville. Grabbing our luggage as we got out, we made our way to the entrance of the enormous airport to get our boarding passes. I went to a different documentation line to save time. It finally was my turn.

"Hello sir, how can I help you?", asked the lady at the counter. I placed my luggage on the scale.

"Just came to check in!", I replied with a smile.

"As everyone, right?" We shared a quick laugh. "You don't mind if I scan them, do you?", she questioned, as protocol.

"Not at all, go ahead!", I told her. She nodded and proceeded to place them on a scanner. Her expression changed from a happy-go-lucky tone to a frown. I immediately knew which suitcase she was looking at. "Oh, don't worry," I pulled out my wallet and took out a card, handing it to her. "I have a license, Class-3, International." She looked at the license, and typed some stuff into a computer.

"Ok, well everything seems to be in order with this one, let me look at the other," She stammered, handing back my license. She scanned my other suitcase, which only had clothes, and put tags on both of them, handing me a ticket. "Alright, well those are documented, are there more?", she asked, raising an eyebrow. I simply shook my head. "Well, then have a safe trip!", she said, and with that, I left to find my mother. I found her in the waiting area with my sister, so I went to sit with them.

"Get through okay?", my sister asked me.

"Perfectly. You?", I questioned.

"Just fine!", she responded. I looked over to the monitor to check my flight. On time. Great, I won't have to wait too long. We sat there for about ten minutes before they called our flight. With boarding passes in hand, we got on the plane and found our seats. Everyone else got on, and after a few minutes, the captain came on the intercom.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We are starting our pre-flight routine, so we should be leaving for Canterlot in a few minutes.", he announced. Good, we would go from Canterlot to Ponyville in our car. We waited for a bit, and then the flight attendants did the instructional demonstration of how to use the life vest and the oxygen mask in the case of an emergency. After they were done, the captain came on again. "Ok, we are now leaving for Canterlot, enjoy your flight!" Everyone started to cheer, which made me chuckle a bit. The plane backed out of the loading area, and turned to face the runway. It drove over to it and got into position. The captain, once again, came on. "Ok folks here we go!", and with that, the plane shot itself down the runway. Honestly, that's my favorite part, just feeling the acceleration of the plane. I could have sworn I heard the captain yell, "We need to hit 88 miles per hour!" The plane lifted off and we were in the air, so I took out my headphones and plugged them into to the armrest to hear some music, putting them on shortly after. I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew, we had touched down in Canterlot.

My mother woke me up. We got off the plane and went to baggage claim. We waited for a while, finally found our bags, and exited the airport and went to the loading area to get our car. I threw my bags in the back, as did my sister. My mom started the car and we went to the nearest fast food shop, because the plane wasn't serving food. It was early, about 10:00 AM, so we ate something small. After finishing, my mom found the road to Ponyville, surprisingly, it followed the train. We were on the road for maybe two hours until arriving at Ponyville.

"Look, Merzero," my mom called, "Isn't it nice? It's got the feel of a city, but it's just a rural town!"

"Semi-rural, but yeah, it is nice. I hope I can make some new friends!", I responded.

"You know what? Leave your stuff in the new house and you can go out and explore! Sound good?", she proposed.

"Awesome! Thanks Mom!", I hugged her, happy that I could actually make friends. We arrived at our new home shortly after. It was larger than our old one, and it was nice on the inside too. My mom had made sure to have top-of-the-line appliances and the nicest furniture she could find. I left my things in my new room, and went to the bathroom to fix myself up. I combed my black hair, groomed my wings, put on a leather jacket, and set off into the town.
