Meeting Her
Helping The Innocent
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI walked out into town to explore it. I walked around for a bit and found a nice café, The Sugarcube Corner. I sat down at one of the tables outside, looked at the menu, and soon enough a waitress came over to take my order.
"Hi there! I'm Pinkie Pie! See anything you like?!", she asked happily. She seemed my age, probably went to the high school here and worked at the café after hours. She had bright pink hair, nice and curled, kinda spongy. Is that... Cotton candy I smell? Wow, she must use some weird shampoo if her hair smells like cotton candy...
"Yeah, you guys do red velvet cupcakes, right?", I inquired. Why red velvet? I just love it, don't know why.
"Sure do! How many do you want?", she asked back. I wondered how many I should have, maybe I should just ask how big they are...
"Just one for now, I'll see about more later," I instructed. Yeah, that was the right choice.
"Alrighty then! One red velvet, coming up!" and with that, she took my menu and skipped off to get my cupcake. She came back minutes later with the cupcake on a plate. "Here you are! If you need anything, don't be afraid to give a yell, okay?" I nodded at her and she walked away, smile on her face. I took the cupcake and peeled the wrapper off. I used my finger to taste a dab of the frosting, delicious. I finally took a bite out of it, and I'll tell you, that was the best cupcake I have ever had, no lie. I slowly ate the cupcake, trying to savor it as much as I could. After a while, I noticed something strange, a couple, over at a table near me, they were fighting harshly. I decided to just observe, and not step in unless something serious happened. I started to eavesdrop.
"Please Soarin! I'm telling you the truth! He's just a friend!", the girl pleaded. Funny, her hair, all the colors of the rainbow, never seen anything like it.
"No! If he was just a friend, he wouldn't be holding your hand and giving you kisses like he did!", Soarin yelled back.
"We go way back Soarin! Those were just kind gestures! He knew that we are together! You need to believe me! I love you Soarin! Why would I cheat on you?!", she retaliated, I could see the tears in her eyes.
"Don't lie to me!", he was furious. He stood up and turned around, as if he was going to leave. The girl got up and went after him, grabbing his arm.
"SOARIN PLEASE!" She was crying heavy now. Soarin turned around, looked at her, and straight up bitch-slapped her in the face. That's when I got up and intervened. I ran up to them, and stood between them with my arms out.
"Look, I don't know what happened, or who either of you are, but what you just did was wrong! You should never hit people, especially not a lady!" I yelled at him, not knowing what else to say. He just looked at me, balling his hands into fists.
"I'll hit you then!" He threw a fist at me, and I caught it. I tightened my grip, moving his arm closer to me, lifted my free arm, and drove my elbow into the inside of his arm. He yelled in pain, falling to his knees. That's when I took the opportunity and drove my knee into his face, knocking him out. The girl gasped, and I looked back at her.
"Where do you live? We should probably get out of here...", I asked her.
"Yeah... J-Just f-follow me...", she stammered. I nodded and we left, I made sure to leave some Bits on my table for the cupcake. We eventually got to her house up in a city called Cloudsdale, but her home was in the outskirts, close to Ponyville, she invited me in, and I obliged. I sat on her couch as she went for some refreshments. It was a very nice home, made for probably a family, but she seemed to be the only one living here. She came back with glasses of water, set them on the table in front of us, and sit next to me. "T-Thank you... For what you did out there...", she said quietly.
"Hey, no problem! I'm always happy to help!", I replied. "Are you alright? You're not hurt are you?", I asked with a worried tone.
"No... I'm fine, it just stings, that's all...", she said quietly.
"That's good. Hey, if you don't mind me asking, what happened out there?", I inquired. She stirred a bit, which made me regret my question. "Sorry, you don't have to tell me..."
"No, it's okay.", she took a deep breath. "One of my long time friends was here in Cloudsdale to visit me, so I invited him for some lunch at the Sugarcube Corner. We were having lunch when Soarin came with some friends and saw me there, he immediately thought I was cheating on him. When my friend and I finished our lunches, we both went out, and as we parted, we gave each other the standard side-ways kiss as a friendly gesture, since we go way back to fillyhood, but what I didn't know, was that Soarin was sitting at a table, waiting for me. I went with him, then I noticed he was very angry. He started to yell at me and..." She stopped, tears in her eyes. She broke down crying right then. I pulled her into a hug, you know, to comfort her... Yeah, to comfort her. After a bit of crying, she calmed down and sat back up, wiping the tears from her eyes. "Sorry about that...", she whispered quietly.
"Don't be. It's not your fault, he's just an asshole," I replied with a comforting tone. She smiled, good, I couldn't stand seeing that face sad. Wait, what?! Am I... No, I'm not, it's just a normal reaction. She yawned.
"Wow... I'm really tired, I think I should get some sleep...", she said in a drowsy tone. I nodded and got up to leave. "No, wait!", I stopped. "Could you stay here with me? You know, just in case Soarin comes back? He has a key to my house, so he could come in and do something..." My heart skipped a beat. WHAT?! I really need to stop thinking like that... I came back to the couch.
"Sure! No problem!", I reassured her. She just needs protection... Yeah, that's it. She smiled and fell asleep. I sat there for hours, nothing to do, but nobody to interrupt my thoughts.
