Humans, we are Humans

Chapter 1

"ALL CREW OF DELTA EXPEDITION 1, REPORT TO THE MAIN DECK IN 2 HOURS." The voice over the speakers was loud as all 5 of then jumped. The crew of Delta Expedition 1 were just eating breakfast getting prepped for their 2 month journey to the outside of the solar system to an new unexplored planet. The whole crew is led by Captain Julian Irons, with the assistance from Engineer Lyra Volkov, Navigator Reginald Walls, Private Julia Anderson, and second in command Lieutenant Leo Kocheryzkin.

"You know they should just inform us face to face, and not ear drum bursting announcements," Walls complained, "Hey, come on were going to an planet outside the solar system, were going to be the first people to explore an real planet that might hold life!," Anderson obviously excited.

Then Kocheryozkin spoke up, "Ey lets celerbrate this occasion with some of this!" pulling out an un-opened bottle of Vodka. He slid everyone an shot glass and started pouring himself some, everyone took an shot except for the captain.

"Captain why not take an shot?" Volkov finally asked, as curiosity rose in everyone mind. Iron simply responded, "i-i'm good." The crew unsure with the captains response, but they just chose to ignore it.

Looking at the time, it already passes 40 minutes. "Shoot..." Irons whispered, "Hey guys come on lets get going, we got to ready up." They all got up, and started walking towards the gear room where their high tech space suits, gear, and recently allowed specially modified weapons were housed. Weapons were recently allowed because of the Mars incident where a group of astronauts were attacked by an creature of unknown and only two came back in an spacecraft with holes and tears, describing the creature to be around 9 feet tall that was incredibly fast and agile.

They reached the gear room where they all had individual rooms, inside the rooms they put on the high tech suits that had IR vision, night vision, oxygen recycling system, self adjusting body heat regulators, and a very maneuverable/comfortable design. All came out of their rooms with the helmets in their hands and their weapons on them. Irons carried the X-90 electromagnetic rail gun, Kocheryozkin carried the FGM-148 Javelin anti tank gun. The others looked at them with envy how they get the big guns,because they were the BIG PEOPLE. Volkov carried the P-19 sniper rifle and a Bowie knife, Walls carried the M-20 sub machine gun and a .44 Magnum and Anderson also carried the M-20 sub machine gun and a couple of flash bangs.

Before they went, Irons stuck out his hand out to Kocheryozkin. "...It's an pleasure working with you," Kocheryozkin responded with an, "you too."

"ALL CREW OF DELTA EXPEDITION 1, REPORT TO THE MAIN DECK IMMEDIATELY," the speakers rang out yet again, and just like it was on cue the Cosmonauts and Astronauts made there way to the main deck where they were surprisingly met by the mission commander, and about 70 scientists.

The  commander walked up to the crew, he said nothing, but finally he spoke something, "Make history." Irons smiled, "yes sir." The commander nodded and stuck out his hand, they all shook it. They made their way into this train that led into an underground tunnel. An awkward silence grew inside the train as an minute passes, it felt like 5 minutes to them.

Then suddenly bright light!, it took a minute for their eyes to adjust to the light and what they say was astonishing... it was an rocket was an 400 foot behemoth. The Delta IV rocket carried an 50 ton payload and was followed by 3 more rockets a week after each others launch. Migrate 3, Migrate 4, Migrate 5, and Migrate 6. It was all white except for the Russian and American flag that was painted on its side.

"Wow... were going to ride that thing..." Walls shockingly said, "The simulators made it seem big but... wow." Irons just stared at the rocket. The train slowly stopped, they stepped out seeing an crowd of cameras, news reporters, and normal citizens on the other side of the fence. The crew waved at them and moved towards the elevator lift.

Because of the sheer size of the rocket, the elevator ride took an few minutes. When they reached the top, a tunnel led to the command module. "Now everyone buckle up, were going on a trip," Irons said with an grin.

15 minutes passes as the countdown finally began, "T-MINUS 50 SECONDS," a voice boomed over the whole site. While inside the rocket everyone is buckled up waiting, Anderson peeped up, "umm... where's the bathroom?..." she said with an embarrassing blush on her cheek, luckily nobody could see her because they were buckled in too tightly. "Too late for that kind of shit, HA HA get it shit... bathroom... HA HA HA," Kocheryozkin shouted through the whole rocket.

"Guys, be serious were going to be the first people to be..." Irons was interrupted by the other astronauts. "exploring a new planet, we know..."  Irons rolled his eyes, "Well not only that but..."  5  "were"  4  "going"  3  "to" 2  "make"  1, the engines started roaring to life as it punched its self off the ground, launching the astronauts back on their seats. "H-HISTOR-R-R-YYYYY!!!" managing to get the word out.

A few minutes passes and the rocket entered the darkness of space. It slowed down and turned on its artificial gravity.

Then a voice rang through the radio, THIS IS MISSION CONTROL, DELTA EXPEDITION 1 DO YOU COPY?

Volkov used her communication radio, "Loud and clear."

Ok we are now going to transmit the coordinates, Zulu 29,5 3, Alpha 9,6,72, Tango 2.988071, 3.4618490, 2.18460243

"So that is Zulu 29,5 3, Alpha 9,6,72, Tango 2.988071, 3.4618490, 2.18460243?."

Affirmative, Now the crew started punching in the codes in the computer, "Coordinates set," rang out the computer. Irons now turned around to face Kocheryzkin, "Kocheryzkin, fire up the Ion engine, and everyone get seated." Everyone got in their seats as Kocheryzkin walked towards the throttle lever and slowly pushed it forward. The whole command module started humming as a voice echoed inside.

"Ion engine started, 60 seconds until ignition."

A voice came through the radio, "Crew, i'm proud of you... and if you meet any aliens choose one thing make peace or defend yourselves." They all laughed as all of them new that meeting a alien was very unlikely, even though Mars had SOMETHING...

     "10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1... BOOOM", the whole spacecraft shot forward going 76 times the speed of sound. The crews seats were designed for this as the seat slid 7 feet back on a rail that cushioned the force. Luckily, their high tech suits were also designed for this kind of force.

A few seconds passes as the cabin now differentiated the force and now was able to walk upon the spacecraft. A minute passes as they already passed Neptune but what lies ahead is a mystery...
