"That was a great speech! I can already tell that you are going to be an amazing princess." Princess Celestia said warmly.

"Thanks Celestia. I promise I won't let you down!" Princess Twilight Sparkle was beaming with excitement and happiness. Never in her life did she think that she would become a princess, let alone sprout a pair of wings. She stretched them out and marveled over them for a couple seconds.

"Oh my gosh oh my gosh! I have wings!" Twilight started bouncing around the throneroom happily. "When am I going to have my first flying lesson?"

"I think your friend Rainbow Dash can teach you how to fly a lot better than I can."

"So does that mean I'll be able to stay with my friends in Ponyville?" Twilight asked hopefully.

Celestia smiled, "Of course you can stay with your friends. You are the Princess of Friendship after all, and you should lead by example. However, I still need to teach you many things about being a princess, and some of the other powers that the Elements of Harmony posses."

"What kind of powers do they have?" Twilight asked as she took the tiara off her head and looked at it expectantly.

"Well, they can't work by themselves. The elements can only show their true power when together. If you go find your friends and bring them back here, I'll show you the first powerful spell that they can create." Trollestia Celestia smiled as she left Twilight guessing on what that spell may be.

This is the best day ever! I became a princess, I got a pair of wings, I get to stay with my friends, and now I even get to learn a new spell! I don't think anything could ruin this day.

"I'll be back in a flash!"

                                                                         20 minutes later...

"We're back." Announced Twilight as she walked into the throneroom with her friends in tow. She sounded a little bit flustered. "It took me a while because some pony was hiding in the coronation cake!"

"It was just so delicious!" squeaked Pinkie Pie.

"You could have saved some for us!" Rainbow Dash challenged.

Twilight cut in, "Annnnyway, dont you guys want to see this new spell, 'cause I do!"

Dash gave in. "Fine. But it better be good."

"I think you'll like it." Celestia grinned. "You all brought your elements to the coronation I see. Good. So let's begin. Twilight, I want you to come to Manehattan tomorrow. I'll give you your first instructions on becoming a princess there. For now, you can head back to Ponyville."

"But what about the spell?!" Twilight pleaded. "You said you'd show it to us today."

"I'll show it to you now. Everyone get in a circle and repeat after me."

The six of them circled up. "On the count of three, I want everypony to say the word destination."

Destination? Why destination? Are we going somewhere... Twilight began to put two and two together in her head.

Celestia counted down, "Three, Two, One..."

"Destination!" The six ponies chanted in unison. Immediatly, a white light emmitted from the star on top of Twilght's element. It shot out in a stream of light that slowly gained speed as it circled around them. It soon was going so fast that the wind it was creating began to lift them off of the ground.

"Whoa, nelly!" Applejack caught her Stetson as it threatened to fly off of her head.

Now they were hovering about 8 feet off of the ground, barely visible through the flashing lights. Twilight was getting worried. Is something going wrong? Should it be taking this long?

Twilight looked over at Fluttershy who had the usual fearful expression on her face, but even Rainbow Dash looked like she was having the slightest of doubts.

Celestia shouted out over the roaring gale, "Now Twilight, say where you want to go! Use this spell to come to Manehatten at 8 o'clock sharp tomorrow! Good luck Princess Sparkle!"

"Ponyville!" Twilght shouted.

The wind instantly picked up speed. The light was spinning so fast that it became impossible to see outside of the ring of white light. After about five seconds the wind and light slowed down and eventually stopped spinning, lightly dropping the six ponies on the ground.

Twilight immediatly recognized the farmiliar buildings and faces of Ponyville. The citizens of Ponyville were all stunned, wide eyes blinking, at the spectacle of the spell. To them, a large ball of swirling light and wind had appered out of nowhere in the middle of town. It sent some ponies staight into the fountain with its g-force speeds.

The mayor, who was also stunned, trotted over to them. "Well, I'm not sure what just happened, but welcome back to ponyville Princess!" She knelt on one knee as did the rest of the town.

Twilight was taken aback. "No no, that's quite alright. You don't have to kneel. We just used the elements to teleport here."

"Well you're welcome to stay here as long as you'd like, Twilight." Smiled the mayor.

"I have to go to Manehatten tomorrow, but I think I want to live primarily in Ponyville for now. Thanks for the welcoming everpony!"

The ponies around her cheered and she realized that things would never be quite the same at Ponyville anymore. I don't know if I like this new self. I wonder if things will ever be as normal as they used to be. What if my friends don't look at me the same way anymore? Is being a princess worth it?

Twilight put on a smile as she walked down the isle that was made by the ponies crowding around to see her. Her friends walked on either side of her happily waving at the crowd.

"Well thank y'all kindly." Applejack giggled.

"Its about time that they recognize us." Rarity gloated. "After all, we have saved Equestria numerous times from compete destruction."

"Umm, thanks everypony." Fluttershy waved shyly at the croud, and they cheered a little louder. She shrank back and wispered to Rarity, "This is why I quit modeling..."

"Oh come onnnn darling, how can you not enjoy this? They love us!"

"You guys must just not be used to this kind of attention. I get it everyday." Rainbow snickered.

Soon they were at Twilight's treehouse. Twilight opened the doors with her magic and was the first to go inside. The other ponies filed in behind her. All except for Pinkie that is. She turned around in front of the doors and grinned at the croud.

"Coronation party at Twilight's tonight! Everypony's invited!" She turned around and happily bounced into the tree humming to herself. The croud cheered as Twilight quickly shut the door behind her.

"Pinkie, I never said that we were going to have a party tonight!"

"But Twilight, we have to celebrate. Trust me, my parties never fail." Pinkie put on one of her squeaky smiles.

"Tonight's just too important to spend partying. I have to be well rested for my first lesson tomorrow."

"Aw laghten' up Sourpatch. Ur gunna do fine one way or the other." Applejack said.

"You deserve it, Twilight." Smiled Fluttershy.

Twilight sat down and drooped her ears. "That's the thing. Do I actually deserve this? Just yesterday I was a normal unicorn, and today I'm a princess. But besides these wings, what's really changed?"

"Of course you deserve it." Rarity gasped. "Think of all that you've done for Equestria. You saved the Crystal Empire from King Sombra."

"And saved Ponyville from Dipcord." Dash smirked while adding.

"Now Dash, he's ar frend' now." Applejack scorned.

"Yeah, sorry." Dash blushed.

"You stopped that changling queen from eating all the cake." Pinkie added sincerly.

"You saved Luna from her darker self too." Fluttershy said.

Twilight sighed, "I know, I know, but it wasn't just me who did that. We all had a part in saving Equestria. I couldn't have done any of those things without you. What makes me more worthy of becoming a princess than any one of you?"

"Well ah don't know bout' them, but ah sur as hay wouldnt want to be ah princess." Joked AJ.

"Me neither, obviously." Smiled Fluttershy.

"Well I wouldn't mind it." Rarity mumbled, and the rest of them looked at her. "Eh heh... but I probably wouldn't be as good a ruler as you'll be."

"You're the best pony for the job." Rainbow admitted. "Organization is what you do best, besides magic of course."

Twilight conceded that argument. "I just don't want you guys to think that I'm better than you. Even though I'm a princess, I still feel the same way about our friendship, and I wouldn't want anything to happen to that."

"Of course!" Rarity exclaimed.

"You better not think of yourself as better than us." Dash joked while getting an elbow in the rib from AJ.

"You're still our Twilight." Fluttershy said soothingly.

They all hugged, and then Twilight stood up. "Thanks guys. I feel a whole lot better about this now." And suprisingly, she really did. "I'm glad I have friends who can always find a way to cheer me up." Twilight grinned.

"Does that mean the party's on?!" Pinkie exclaimed.

"You know what? Yes, yes it does. And you better not disapoint me." Twilight smiled.

"Whohoooo! I'll go get the refreshments!" Pinkie shot out of the treehouse like a canon, which was most likely what she was about to go get.

My friends are right. Twilight thought, I'm still the same pony, just with a new set of wings. And I'm sure they still look at me the same way. Partying for one night could do you good Twi, releave some of your tention. And I know I'm going to regret saying this, but what's the worst that can happen?
