A Bizzare Life
Chapter 1: The Acceptance
Previous ChapterBrian was lying in the hospital bed, having just cleansed himself of his urine, and was curious as to why he was in a more advanced hospital than most. He was also concerned about how nauseas he was. He felt as though he would vomit at any second, despite the fact that he was shaking from such a large lack of food. He remembered heading home, and sent a silent thank you to Princess Celestial for him ending up in the hospital instead. His house was a makeshift tree house with various weaknesses. It would get cold very easily, rain would cause him to be soaked, and insects loved the tree. The only benefit was that the wind was blocked. Now he was inside a hospital that provided much more shelter and safety, and likely better food than apples. Considering Brian lived off of one apple per day, he was very skinny and weak, uncapable of having muscles. He also had to use the bathroom outdoors, leading to various issues with disease.
The nurse came in with a Carrot Sandwich. Apparently he was in a bad medical situation, or they just wanted to get him to heal quickly. Brian asked the nurse, "May I have some water, ma'm?" In the most polite voice he could manage. However, his voice was dry, and he felt as though he had almost lost his voice altogether.
"Why, of course. I will return in a few minutes, you should eat while I'm gone." The nurse pony replied casually. Clearly, to Brian, they just wanted to completely heal him at a faster rate than normal. He had done some research at a Library whilst being bored to learn that a Carrot Sandwich is imbued with intense magical properties, but the unicorn can not cast another spell for the next forty eight hours. So two days, overall, without spells. Unicorns could still perform small things, like using there Hiram's glow for light or levitating objects such as sporks. Brian began eating the sandwich when the nurse knocked twice, then walked in. "You don't mind having a visitor, do you? She is shy, to warn you. More than likely she won't talk to you much. She hardly talks to anypony. I sometimes worry about her, but I never really need to worry. Do you mind her visiting you?"
Brian was at a loss. He was wondering "Who the hell would want to visit me?! Some moron who can't tell the difference between useless and important?!" The Brian realized that this pony must have her reasons. Just as he had his reasons for running away from his home when he was still at the age of five. He had not realized the hardships he would have to face until after running away. He told the nurse to "Let her in. I'm sure she has a decent reason to visit me." Not that anypony ever did. He had never accomplished anything major. He told stories in exchange for spare bits, and he hardly got anything out of it. Then the nurse let the pony in. Brian had already accepted the fact that whoever she was she may as well be there to torture him. He already felt his life wouldn't get any worse. Then he looked up at the pony who had walked in... Well, Pegasus really.
