*The Last Sonic Rainboom*

It was just like anyother day in Equestia, Birds were chirping the grass was glowing and the sun was shining, Earth ponies were doing the normal growing crops, some were shopping and some were just having fun with friend's, Unicorns were also doing the same (apart from growing crops) shopping and hanging out and a few were practicing their magic, the sky was filled with Pegasi doing what they usually did on a sunny day clearing the sky of the clouds to let the sun's warmth and beauty shine in, all was peaceful in Equestia.

That was until a thunderous 'Boom' filled the air it was heard all the way from Canterlot to the Crystal Empire Princess Celestia awoke to this sound and her royal guard's immediately burst into her bed chamber

"Princess it has been reported that a rainbow has filled the sky and it originated in PonyVille"

"Well isn't it obvious that it is another one of Rainbow Dash's Sonic rainboom's ?"Princess Celestia Interupted with a smirk of wisdom on her face,

"Yes..."

"Well what's with the bursting into my chambers at this hour ?"
Princess Celestia Interupted, again,

"It's not just another Sonic Rainboom, well it was but just after that it looked like *a dark and mysterious portal opened up*, out of know where"

"Oh, no" replied Princess Celestia

she used her magic to pick up a quill and some paper and begun to write a letter to Twilight, Celestia had a look of importance and fear upon her face that the royal guards had never seen before,

"Princess is everything alright" the royal gaurd knew if Celestia feared this thing it could not be good

"If I am right then this portal is something that has only ever appeared once before in Equestia over a thousand years ago before I came to power, there is very little information on what it is or what it does all I remember is a book saying 'beware what lerks beyond the dark, the portals only the start' I can only speculate what it is, but I know what must be done" replied Princess Celestia

"and what would that be ma'am?" replied the guard's

"I must inform Twilight Sparkle of this disaster only her and the power of friendship may defeat what ever is 'Beyond the dark'"

Twilight and Spike were alone at this time both had gone back to bed thinking that the 'Boom' was just a another one of Rainbow Dash's Sonic Rainboom's, suddenly Spike begun to feel something inside his stomach, it began to move, with a small burp of green fire erupting from his mouth so did a letter, hearing this familiar sound Twilight jumped out of bed with a hop, skip and a jump, she rushed toward the letter and paused just before picking it up, Twilight turned to Spike with a smile of such delight upon her face
"I love getting a letter from Princess Celestia,just think of all the wonderous things she could be writing to me about"

"her we go" replied Spike

"Her day, my brother, a quest to uncover an ancient relic or a quest for me and my friend's to go and defeat a monsterous fire breathing dragon",

with a little giggle of excitement her horn began to glow purple and the letter started to levitate, slowly she unraveled the letter as she read more and more her smile started to fade until when she finished reading it the letter dropped to the floor, bowing her head in sadness she turned to the door and started to move depressingly towards it,

"Twilight is everything okay?" spoke Spike quietly and softly

"It was non of those things, she wants me to go and check out an evil portal that has been so called opened by a Sonic Rainboom" replied Twilight

"well atleast your the only one Princess Celestia trusts to do this, right?"

"I didn't think about like that" a smile begun to appear on Twilight's face once again

"come on Spike we have a mission to complete" said Twilight her face now full of determination,

lifting Spike up and onto her back with her magic, out the door and down the long dirt path they went.

Twilight ran all the way to Everfree forest, she was halfway their when she could see somesort of ripple above the forest it was black, black as night and it gave Twilight a strange sensation when she looked at it she didn't feel anything no fear, no anger or love of friendship

"Spike is it just me or do you feel somthing strange when you look at that thing" asked Twilight with a touch of caution on her voice,

with Spike's head burried into her back shielding his eye's and his arms covering his ears he replied

"it's not just you",

Twilight looked away from Spike with a look upon her face no longer determination but of fear, as they got closer to Everfree forest they begun to hear a voice it was very faint but they could hear it was calling for help as they entered the forest the voice became more and more clear

"Spike doesn't that sound like"

**"Rainbow Dash"** yelled Spike interrupting Twilight

"Faster Twilight come on" screamed Spike

They reached the middle of Tue forest and they could see Rainbow Dash but something was wrong why didn't she fly out of her as they got closer they saw her wing was trapped under a boulder

"Don't worry Rainbow I will get you out of here" said Twilight calmly

"What happened" said Rainbow with a bump on her head she was dazed and couldn't remember what happened

"I don't know Rainbow but we need to get back to PonyVille to get are friends and find out what this thing is" replied Twilight with urgency

Twilight and Spike both attempted to move the boulder off of Rainbows wing but it was to heavy to move with just the both of them

"Twilight what can we do?" insisted Spike

Before Twilight had anytime to respond to Spike's question an electrifying '**roar**' came out of no where

Spike took a *gulp*

"Twilight what was that?" said Spike he was shaking in fear his teeth were chattering and a tear of sweat was dripping down the side of his face

"I don't think I want to know what it was" replied Twilight

Twilight and Spike both grinded their teeth in fear they slowly turned their heads looking behind them and fear took over you could see this in their eye's, when they saw what was behind them they both froze for a second and in a moment of blind panic both screamed "***Dragon!***".
