FRIENDSHIP'S LIGHT

The next day, Fluttershy prepared some cereal. She grabbed two small, white bowls and got the milk out. Critters zoomed in the kitchen playing tag. One small chipmunk bumped into Fluttershy. She lost her balance and fell. One bowl fell on her head while the other one was making its way to the floor. Fluttershy closed her eyes shut, preparing for the impact. Suddenly, Radiant dashed in grabbing the plate with her right hoof. Fluttershy opened her eyes gazing at Radiant with her mouth hung open.

" How did you do that?" She asked in awe.

" I-I guess I have good reflexes" she smirked.

Fluttershy got up taking the bowl from her head and grabbing the other bowl from Radiants light, pink hoof.
She grinned at Radiant. It amused her that she caught the bowl just when it was about to break. How, though? She was hurt and weak. How? Fluttershy pushed the thought out of her head. It was just luck.

"Want some cereal?"

"Sure, thanks," she looked down at the floor looking at her hooves. Fluttershy's eyes shifted down at Radiant's hooves. She gasped. They were glowing. Not just glowing, but glowing gold! What was going on? Radiant tried to hide her hooves. She ran to the couch and hid them under the cushions. Fluttershy followed her.

"Radiant why are your hooves glowing? Why are you hiding them?" She begged to know.

"I... you see.... it's just that," her voice shook. She felt nervous.

" Radiant you can tell me anything," Fluttershy told her.

" Okay..." she sighed,"When I as a baby, I was born with a condition. I glowed. Not only my hooves but my whole body! My mane, tail, hooves, eyes, even my cutie mark. But it only happens when I feel friendship surround me. Last night when you found me a lock of my hair glowed. You didn't see it because I hid it. But now you have shown lots of kindness that all my hooves glowed gold," she gulped. Fluttershy smiled at her. There was nothing wrong with her. She glowed, so what? She was special, and there was nothing she should hide.

" What?" she asked fluttershy.

" Nothing it's just that you are very special. Why are you afraid to hide something like that?"

" I thought you would think bad about me," she responded. Fluttershy looked at her and then giggled. Radiant joined in.

The two pegasi sat and ate breakfast. They talked and laughed, enjoying every bit of the cereal. Fluttershy knew that she had to introduce her to her friends. She was sure they were going to like her. She was kind, strong, and she was special. After breakfast, they headed to the living room where the critters were. Radiant spotted the ferret she petted. He ran up to her and licked the tip of her hoof. She picked him up and snuggled with him. He was simply adorable.

" That little guy is Tickles," Fluttershy giggled, "I named him that because he always tickles me with his whiskers."

"I can tell," they both laughed. Fluttershy looked around for her bunny. She looked here and there until she found him behind the couch eating a huge carrot.

"This is my bunny, Angel," She smiled at him, but he just kept on munching the juicy carrot. " You can have Tickles if you want him," Fluttershy told Radiant.

"R-really?"

"Yes"

" Thank you! You are so kind!" with that her hooves began to glow.

Later that day Fluttershy was invited on a picnic with her best friends. It was her opportunity to introduce Radiant. She really wanted to do that. Maybe they will like her a lot that they will be friends with her. Seven best friends instead of six. She walked up to Radiant who was collapsed on the couch.

"Hey"

"Hey"

" My friends invited me to a picnic," She started," wanna come?"

"Sure I guess"

" Okay, but first we have to pick up one of my friends at Sugar Cube Corner."

The two pegasi walked down Ponyville. Radiant looked around at the town. It was peaceful and quiet. Everyone looked nice and kind. They stopped in front of Sugar Cube Corner and went in. The bakery was full of ponies buying and eating. Radiant stopped to look around. I wonder who her friends are Radiant thought. A pink pony skipped up to them.

"Hi Pink-" Fluttershy began but was interrupted by Pinkie Pie.

"HI! Who are you? You must be NEW! I love new ponies! I'm Pinkie Pie, but my friends call me Pinkie! You can call me that because you are my new best friend!" Pinkie Pie grinned. Radiant just stood there unsure of what to say. She stared at Fluttershy for some help.

"Oh, Pinkie Pie this is Radiant. She will join us at the picnic," She explained.

"OH goodie!!!" she exclaimed," Let me just get the cupcakes I made." Pinkie left to get her cupcakes. Radiant looked into Fluttershy's eyes. "What was that all about?" She asked her in a confused manner. Fluttershy knew this would happen. Pinkie can't just control herself when meeting a new pony. She just jumps in and shouts. Usually the newcomers run away or just make weird faces. "Pinkie can have some issues meeting new ponies," explained Fluttershy hoping that was a good response. Radiant nodded with symphony. Pinkie Pie came back with her cupcakes covered with pink frosting. They started down the exit. The picnic was at Sweet Apple Acres. It was a bit far but they could still make it on time walking. The three mares enjoyed the sunny day at least while it lasted. Dark clouds and rumbling flooded Ponyville. They all looked up and saw the gloomy clouds. Thunder filled their ears. Pinkie gasped out the words ,"Uh oh." They started to run. Radiant had a face of utter terror. Why? It was just rain. She ran faster without panting. She even flew, not caring about her hurt wing. Soon water began to pour down. It became heavy and sticky. It was very odd. Lightning filled the once beautiful sky. Lightning hit the ground close to Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. They looked up and saw lightning hitting everything. They ran again this time faster. lightning hit one of Pinkie's soaked hair. she tripped in shock. fluttershy helped her up with her hoof. She looked up in the sky and she saw something unusual; the clouds formed into some sort of demonic face with lightning coming out of it. Fluttershy gasped. She got a hold of Pinkie and spread her wings. Even though she was a weak flyer she caught up with Radiant who was also struggling. The rain beat harder on them. Shots of lightning surrounded them. Pinkie held on Fluttershy very tight afraid that she would fall into the darkness.
