Shimmer

“C’mon! Let’s go!” hollered Sunset Shimmer, leader of the Masked Ponies, the squadron of ponies against Celestia and Luna. They were based on a clear path on the Everfree Forest, where no monsters or spirits lurked. A weak wind passed by, her golden tail and mane blowing in the breeze. It reminded of her of when she was a filly and would go outside her house and play games using her magic.

“We’ve had months of training, Sunset” said Topaz, one of the soldiers.

“I know. We have to be at our best when we fight.” replied Sunset.

“When do you think we will be ready?”

“I predict tomorrow, maybe the next two days. Keep a close eye, Topaz. When they raise that Sun, we will defeat it.”

“Hey, Sunset?” Topaz asked with a worried look.

“Don’t worry. It’s gonna be alright.” She turned to look at her and put a hoof on her blue coat.

Topaz simply walked back to train.

Sunset had an awkward feeling inside. She felt that this shouldn’t be happening, to forgive and forget in the face of doubt. But it had to happen, if it wasn’t for Princess Celestia. If pegasi have no limit on wings, why do unicorns have a limit on horns? She would think. As if there was a way to turn that around. But now, until the days to come, that thought will become a reality, as she would intend. She thought, but... there is only one thing that can stand in my way. She stared at the castle. The purple light... Twilight Sparkle. She ponders about Twilight’s power constantly. She brushed it off and went back into her “control center” and drew her “maze”.

Maybe...

I don’t have to fight the purple light at all... she thought.
