Echo Dash I

        "Hay Rainbow Dash! I have a letter for you!" a voice called out from above

        As Rainbow Dash took a second to analyze the voice she realized it was Derpy Hooves "Thanks Derpy!" Rainbow dash had stayed looking into the cloud's as Derpy dropped the letter from where she was flying to the park bench that Rainbow Dash was sitting at.

        Rainbow Dash was waiting for a letter from the Wonderbolts. The leader Spitfire had resigned to be with her family and the Wonderbolts needed a new leader. Rainbow Dash was very excited for this,

yes she was also sad that she probably wouldn't see her friend for a long time, but she was excited to be the leader of the Wonderbolts witch more than outmatched her not seeing her friend. She didn't open the letter, she was going to wait until she got home to read it. She went to check the time on her watch. It read 2:12 P.M So she decided to stay at the bench for anther hour or so.

        She loved sitting on the park bench on a windy afternoon. The wind in her mane. It emulated flying at the slowest possible speed. She was the fastest flyer in all of Equestria and she wanted to keep it that way but she also knew that when flying to enjoy any pretty sight you must slow down or it would be just a blurred flash in your mind. When she was on the park bench she would close her eyes and imagine a few of the many beautiful sights she has seen in her life. She imagined flying circles around the crystal empire tower and around the Princesses castle.

        When she decided to check the time again, after what felt like two minutes, she saw that it was 3:45 P.M. With promising herself to go home sometime near three, she got up and flew home. She was excited and couldn't wait to read the letter. She was flying as fast as she could. She was home within seconds.

        Her home was a cloud home, hovering just to the north-east of Ponyville. It was a spacious two story home and it hovered 50 feet above the ground. The first floor was open concept, the living room, kitchen and foyer was pretty much the same room. As soon as you come in the staircase is directly in front of the front door. To the right of the stairs was the living room and door to the main floor bathroom. To the right was the kitchen, dinning room and pantry door. The stairs led up to a landing then turned right. At the top of the stairs was another bathroom, a guest bedroom and the master bedroom.

        When she entered her house she went straight to the kitchen counter. She repeated the words "Please make me Leader of the Wonderbolts!" four times to herself before opening but what she saw was a surprise to her. Instead of a letter from the Wonderbolts, it was a letter from the princesses. She was happy the princesses of Equestria had wrote to her for a change but she was expecting a letter from the Wonderbolts. She read the letter anyways.

                Dear Rainbow Dash,

        It has come to our attention that you are the only Element of Harmony that isn't a "parent"                                                                                        for example Rarity has become the legal guardian of sweetie bell, Apple Jack and Big Mac have taken care of apple bloom ever since Granny Smith passed away, Flutter Shy has her pet's, Pinkie Pie adopted Blueberry Muffin and Twilight Sparkle is the adoptive mother of spike. We believe that many important lessons can be learnt from being a mother and we request that you come adopt from the Canterlot orphanage.

        "What! They expect me to put aside my things to raise a child?" Rainbow Dash burst out in a slight rage. "This is insane!"

         But anypony who's anypony would know that you don't decline a request from the princesses. She thought of how she would fit her parenting into her tight schedule. She would also be responsible for helping with its homework after school and she knew she wasn't good with books other than Daring Do.

        "Thats It!" she yelled out as she remembered that Twilight Sparkle always is available in the afternoons when school ended since Rainbow Dash had to practice with the Wonderbolts. Twilight also lives in a library, it would be hard for her not to help with the homework. It was perfect. And when it was a teen it could work for one of it's aunt's like Rarity, Twilight, Apple Jack, Pinkie Pie or Fluttershy.

        Rainbow Dash flew as fast as she could to the library to get Twilight. She wanted to show Twilight the letter and tell Twilight that she had wanted her to be the child's Foul sitter and godmother. She was having trouble finding the library because the sunset was pretty blinding but then she saw the largest tree in the center of the town and thought that must be it. She swooped down and sure enough it was the library.

        "Hay Twilight! We're going to Canterlot!" Rainbow Dash Hollered as she barged in.

        "Okay let me tell the other's we're-" Rainbow Dash began to interrupt

        "No just me and you,-" She passed twilight the letter "-I'd like you to foul sit for me and be its godmother." Rainbow Dash said calmly.

        "Oh wow. We'll... we'll leave right away. Spike be good while we're gone," Twilight hollered to spike. "And remember, spike, NO PARTIES!"

        "Whatever," Spikes usual response ever since he turned 14.

        When they left the library Rainbow Dash noticed that Twilight's bag was packed with some books probably for reading on the way to canterlot, and some snacks. However this wasn't her usual bag. This was an old raggedy brown one. Her usual bag was getting fixed at Rarity's shop. And because Rainbow Dash had not seen this bag before she wondered where twilight got it but didn't ask as she decided to ask later.

        Rainbow looked up and tried to remember all the constallations. she found the Big Dipper and Little Dipper easily as she remembered them as table spoon and tea spoon and they were the two "Constallations of Soup" and always remembered them when shes hungry. This obvously ment she was hungry now.

        "Hay got anything to eat, Twi?" She asked her friend as they walked.

        "Yeah" reaching into her bag "I have two grilled cheeze sandwitches, four apples, two bottles of orange juice and a box of muffins," She replied. "Which would you like?"

        "Can i have a muffin?" Rainbow Dash asked.

        "Sure anything for the soon to be mom!" she gigled while handing Rainbow Dash the muffin.

        Rainbow Dash took a bite out of it imidiatly. It was chocoate chip. Rainbow Dash loved muffins, not as much as the mailpony Derpy Hooves but still liked them alot. She especially like chocolate chip. The muffin was so delicous. It was also pretty warm like it was recently made. But Twilight probably just used her magic to heat them up a little before we left.

        We approached the train station and bought two tickets to canterlot. We were told that the trip would take all night because instead of heading straight to canterlot the train had ten other towns to stop at and one stope last half an hour.

        "It's a good thing I came prepared, I brought the new, Daring Do for you to read while I read the new, Docter Whooves." Twilight Exclaimed.

        "What really? Whats the title of the new Daring Do?" Rainbow asked.

        "Daring Do and the key to the golden temple," Twilight answered.

        They boarded the train. The only other pony in the car was a brown earth pony with a leather jacket that said Equestria Angels. His mane was buzz cut. His cutie mark was a moter bike with a flaming back tire. He was fast asleep. Rainbow and Twilight sat as far from him as possible because he kind of freaked us out a little.

         Twi handed me the book as we sat down. It was interesting enough. The one difference in this story than all the other Daring Do's is that instead of running from bad guys, Do is freakently running after them for parts of the golden key. All in all Rainbow Dash didn't like it that much as there wasn't much danger invovled.

        Rainbow Dash decided to nap. it was now 11:37 P.M and they stoped four times. and Dash had about one grilled cheeze and a bottle of orange juice. The car had no other ponies except Twilight and Rainbow.

        When she slept she dreamed about a human. He was about six feet tall, wearing very fancy clothing, a crown similar to princess Celestias but his was more masculine. He had a mustache that spread to each end of his long smile. He was looking at her, Rainbow Dash, and he looked pretty happy. Rainbow Dash felt like he loved her, not in a wife/husband sort of way but some other type of relation like nephew or something.

        When Rainbow Dash awoke she was on the train station bench in Canterlot. She checked the time 7:45 A.M. The sun was out and birds were chirping. Rainbow Dash was in a happy mood. but she still wondered who that human was in her dream.

        "Good morning sleepy head!" Twiligtht said happily. "Ready to go to the orphanage?" she asked

        "Yeah sure." said Rainbow. Still thinking on who the human was.

        "So, what did you dream about?" Twilight asked.

        "A human, a human that I think I loved," She answered.

        "Oh Rainbow Dash, you and your crazy love fantasies!" she laughed.

        "Not that kind of love!' Rainbow Dash kind of snapped.

        As they walked thought the city, Rainbow Dash noticed a few of the building have been repainted. the usual white with a yellow roof had been switched for some that were now yellow with a white roof. Rainbow wasn't a big fan of the new way they're using the combination but she didn't complain. They somehow reminded her of her house in ponyville. Then she thought where will the baby sleep?

        Then the next thing she thought, what if the baby isn't a pegasis? Maybe Twilight can find a permanent spell like the one used to alow the others to walk on clouds at the gala. But it still didn't have a place to sleep. Maybe it can have the guest bedroom in Rainbow Dash's home.

        "Hay I can see the orphanage!" exclaimed Twilight as they turned the corner it was right there.

"Alright lets go in." Rainbow exclamed

        When they entered Rainbow Dash saw that there wern't many babies. There where no pegesi or unicorn's. Only earth ponies and a baby human. It didn't have enough hair to tell the hair color yet. As the ponies were napping he was climing the ledge in the corner and jumping off over and over. Rainbow thought he was quite the adventurer.

        "Are you here to adopt?" a frail old mare asked.

        "Yeah." Rainbow Dash replied.

        "I seen you been eying that one- "cough" -human baby, he's pretty- "cough cough" -adventurous that- "cough" -one." she told Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash thought for a second.

        "Am I really wan'ting to adopt out of my species?" Thought Rainbow "Well it is an Intellegent race so it's capable of most things I am. And humans were known for being advanced scientist's so maybe he'll invent something to get me cash."

        "I think i'll take him." Rainbow decided. Glancing back she felt something, like the baby was familiar. Maybe it was a sign? Rainbow did'nt know but wasn't waiting to find out.

        "Rainbow are you sure? He's not even a pony!" Twilight wispered.

        "I'm sure! Besides, I feal something wierd about him, almost as if... nevermind it's not important right now." Rainbow replied as she signed the paper work.

        "And here, write what you like to name him, we call "cough" him Echo because he's just an echo of the former glory of his race. He "cough cough" may just be the last human left on earth!" the mare exclaimed. Rainbow had some trouble thinking on a good name. In the end she named him Echo Dash, she gave him her last name as a sign of her accepting him as family.

-A day later-

        Rainbow Dash was feeding Echo when Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Apple Jack came in

        "Surprise! It's a baby party!" Pinkie Pie screamed.

        "Ah heard 'bout the news and reckoned we bring some baby present's!" Apple Jack anounced.

        "When I heard there was going to be a human growing up in ponyville I tried to make the most bedazzaling human baby clothes yet!" exclaimed Rarity.

        "Oh look at him he's so cute! Yes you are! Yes you totaly are!" Pinkie Pie wen't to play with the baby.

        Rarity and Apple Jack left there gift's on the table and wen't to play with little baby Echo. He was loving all the attention he was getting. He was also laughing the whole time with the most cutest laugh ever heard.

        "I don't think we got his name darling. You mind telling us since we are now his relatives?" Rarity asked.

        "Echo Dash. His name is Echo Dash" Rainbow Dash modestly replied.

        "So ya gave im your last name. Ah thought ya would do that," Apple jack looked up at Rainbow.

        "Oh why don't we open the present's?" Pinkie Pie anounced.

        "What a wonderful idea!" rarity added

        The girls made there way to the presents and passed them over to Rainbow Dash. Rarity's gift was some human baby clothes and an embroided blanket. Pinkie Pie gave him a rattle and a teddy bear. Apple Jack gave him a story book about brave earth pony's and a cowboy hat.

        "Plus he get's one free playdate with Blueberry Muffin!" Pinkie Pie announced

        "By the way, where is Blueberry?" Rainbow Dash asked.

        "She had a magical outburst and Twilight is helping her control it," Pinkie sighed.

        "That's to bad," Rainbow Dash replied.

        "You're really getting good at this parenting biz and you've only had him for a day. Ah reckon you be a great ma," Apple Jack commented.

        "Thanks, and you know what? You might just be right," Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
