Something I forgot to mention…

Dragon burns me.
Its implied that clothes burned with me.
I pass out and wake up in hospital.
Go home like nothing happened.
What was I wearing!?!
That is all…

The next morning Colin and I were awoken by guards who would escort us to the dining hall. Celestia and Luna sat waiting for us. I continue to wonder why they let us do what we want; I know there is more to Celestia than kindness. She has reasons for everything and wouldn’t keep us in Castle Canterlot if she thought we were something to worry about.

“Morning, Celestia, Luna,” I said smiling. To which they both responded. “Are there any jobs that you need me to do? Honestly, lazing about the castle is boring,”

“Really? You, not being lazy?” Colin asked in a joking manner.

“Shut up, there isn’t much do you. At least you can practice with your sword,” I said, making my point.

“There is one thing, actually,” Celestia said. “We received a shipment this morning. It’s just metals and such so we can make armor and tools for the new recruits of the guard,”

“I’d be glad to help,” I said, again smiling.

“Maybe you should go talk to Rarity, I’m sure she would be happy to make you some real clothes,” Colin said. He was right, after the dragon burned off my clothes I woke up with a sheet wrapped around me like a toga. I kind of liked it, made me feel like Caesar, but I can take a hint.

“Ok, after I’m done unloading the metals would you be so kind as to lend me a carriage to Ponyville?” I said looking to Celestia.

“I’m sure I can find some lazy guards to do the job,” She said in a motherly tone.

Outside the dining hall I confronted Colin, “What did Vis do to that sword?”

“You’re going to love this!” He said with a grin. And then he proceeded to move like a freaking ninja on too many energy drinks with a shot of speed. I never knew he had it in him, but apparently Vis made the sword a physical manifestation of his power. Colin used to fence, but Vis added a little speed and agility with a dash of badassery on the side.

“You’re a real life fruit ninja!” I mocked. I should really stop messing with this psycho. He replied with a quick stab in the thigh. "Oh, I hate you!"

This is gonna get annoying real fast.

I think it’s funny!

“So that’s all ya need to know, get them here and take them there,” The worker said pointing up the large flight of stairs.

I know I’m not the brightest individual, but I can lift a box. This was the kind of guy who gets on my nerves, the one who thinks that he is so much better than everyone else. At any other time I would have insulted him back but I didn't want to ruin the Princess’ reputation by being rude, even if it is to someone who deserves it.

I didn’t take long with the boxes but by the time I was done I was sweating like a pig. They were heavy! It made things worse that I had to take them up a flight of stairs too. Honestly, who would design a building like this? The ponies probably just got unicorns to do the heavy lifting; I couldn’t see the box staying on an earth pony’s back going uphill.

“There ya go, all done!” I said placing the last box in the armory.

“Thanks, Aidan,” The guard said with a salute. “Here is your payment.”

“Thanks to you too!” I said leaving the armory. I have no idea what currency is worth here, but if it’s anything like back on earth, thirty bits isn’t much.

I decided I’d go back to my room to shower and clean myself up a little before talking to Celestia again. I may be a slob, but I’m a secret slob. Upon entering my room I found a package on my bed. All it said was, “For you.” Upon opening the box I found a revolver. Oh joy! I have a proper defense now. This one was odd though, it had a strange blue glow emanating from the angels etched into the handle. The barrel was adorned with strange engravings, words in some different language, a similar glow emanated from these as well.

“It’s about freaking time!” I said picking up the revolver. There was a small note in the box as well.

Dear Aidan,

You need not know who I am at the moment. Just accept this as a gift so that you may know I am here to help. The revolver accompanying this letter is magical; it will not require ammo to fire and is very powerful. It would be best to keep it hidden from Celestia though, she might not approve of such a weapon. Go about this in any way you desire, just be careful.

A watchful friend.

Oh, great, now I have some stalker. They must know something about humans, how else could they make a revolver? I quickly ruled Lyra out of the question; I had never talked to her, and gave no reason to help me. I had better hide this from Celestia. I don’t know how she will react and I don’t want to give up something so awesome! Speaking of which, I’d better go see Celestia now.

Celestia sat on her throne looking at the many stained glass windows that had depicted many historical moments of greatness in her life. Her gaze rested on the first. It was an image of a pony that was half regal adorned with a crown. That side seemed at peace, calm. The other half’s fur was burnt, and wore a cracked crown. The dark side showed pain and agony, it was fighting with all its force. The transition symbolized that there was a good side to him, and it seemed he was helping the princesses, which stood on either side with horns aglow. The image was of the banishment of Prophet.

Just then I walked in, ruining her train of thought. “Celestia?” I said walking up to her as she stood in front of a stained glass window.

“Yes, Aidan?” She looked sad again, this Prophet must have been somepony real special.

“I have finished unloading the crates and would like to take that carriage to Ponyville now.”

“I have told the guards, they are waiting on the runway.” She said hiding the emotions shown before.

“Thanks again, Celestia.” I said walking out of the room happily. She just continued looking at the window as I left, I had better talk to her when I get back.

Colin was doing who knows what, who knows where. I landed in Ponyville after a short ride in the carriage. With no sense of direction in the town, I just made my way to Twilight’s library; she could give me directions to Rarity’s.

I opened the door to the library. Spike greeted me first, “Hey, Aidan, Twilight is out right now. Can I help you with anything?”

“Yeah,” I said with a laugh. I felt stupid asking this. “Can you show me to Rarity’s? I was hoping she could make me some new clothes.”

“Sure, I’d do anything to see Rarity!” Oh, right. This one has a crush on Rarity, how cute.

We walked through the town. Spike introduced me to some of the ponies I had never met before. The strange looks I was getting from ponies was annoying, to say the least. I know I’m not normal to them, but seriously? It’s rude to stare. After a short walk we arrived at Rarity’s Boutique.

“Hey, Rarity,” I said casually.

“What are you wearing?” She asked surprised at my current apparel.

“I think it’s a bed sheet. I’m not sure.”

“Well that just won’t do. Be a dear and let me make you a new set of clothes!” she said enthusiastically, I suppose it’s not every day that you get to make clothes for another species. Logically, from a business perspective, if she made ME look good she could draw attention from all across Equestria. “It’s the least I can do after you saved us from that dreadful dragon! Nothing like my spikey wikey.”

“I would love that, Rarity,” This odd relationship is making me uncomfortable. Time to make myself scarce, “By any chance, do you have work that needs doing?”

“Why, yes! I need these delivered to ponies around town,” Rarity replied waving a hoof over some boxes in a stack. “Spike could you go with him?”

“Sure!” He said. “Anything for you…” He muttered quietly.

Great, more lifting. Oh well, it’s not metal this time, so that’s good. It was a light load, and she had a cart that I could push to get everything in one go. Spike was a little sad about leaving her, but he ruled that helping her was better than getting in her way. We talked while delivering the boxes.

“So what do you do for fun around here?” I asked walking along as he sat on the cart telling me where to go.

“Not much. Twilight usually has something for me to do, so I just follow her around.”

“Really? That doesn’t sound fun at all,” I said hoping there was more to him than that.

“I like it, besides there isn’t much else to do, and I won’t hang out with the Cutie Mark Crusaders,”

“Can’t blame you. With what I’ve heard they can get into some trouble,”

“Yeah…” He said looking at me. “How did you get so strong?

“Huh? Oh, well I have just been doing work in my spare time,” I said hoping to dodge the subject. I wasn’t as strong as I am now, I had never been asked that question before. I’m the nervous, shy type back on earth, so when it comes to things like this I have no idea of what to say.

“You kidding? You can push this cart like its nothing!” he said jumping up. “I bet you can beat Big Mac in a hoof wrestle!”

Oh God.

“Well I don’t know about that, he is a pretty big guy,” Again trying to dodge the possibility of embarrassment.

“Oh come on! Let’s go!” He said hopping up on my shoulder.

“Fine, we’ll go see Big Mac after we return the cart to Rarity and get my clothes.”

“Yes! This is gonna be awesome!” He said.

Oh great, what have I gotten myself into?

Author's Note

So yeah... my spring break ended today. I will do a daily update whenever possible, but there will obviously be cases in which i can't write or don't have it in me. I apologize in advance for the number of updates I won't be able to put out.

Also, I'm giving you readers a choice. Would you like several smaller updates like these now, or should I consolidate multiple updates into larger ones. This mainly applies on weekends, when I may have time to write several chapters in a day.

Thanks a ton for reading!
