Chapter XVIII – Celebration. (Epilogue)

As the sun slowly began to emerge, chasing away the darkness of the night, the birds began to wake up and chirp, the chickens in their coup awoke and began clucking as they moved about waiting to be let out. Some people began to stir and wake up whilst others were already awake and doing their jobs, weather it was delivering milk or preparing a shop for a busy day.

Discord murmured in his sleep as Fluttershy wrapped her arms around him tighter, all was quiet in the house, save for a pair of hushed whispers coming from outside their bedroom door.

“You ready?” One said.

“You bet, he won’t see it coming.” The other replied.

The door was slowly pushed open as the two mysterious figures entered, snickering to one another and shushing each other. The leader snapped his fingers quietly and an old fashioned loud speaker appeared in his hand and they crept round to the side Discord was sleeping at, snickering once more. As they came into the light more, the sun shone on them gently. They were two young boys who looked identical, save for one boy had a blue left eye and a yellow right eye and the other had the opposite, they each had matching brown hair and goat horn and a deer antler; both had mischievous grins on their face.

“Ready?”

“On the count of three.”

The one holding the loudspeaker took a deep breath as the other began to count down.

“Three…two…-“

“One.”

Discord interrupted them by squirting a water pistol into the loudspeaker, blasting the one holding it with water, who spluttered and let out a shriek.

“DAD, THAT’S FREEZING!” He cried.

Discord chuckled as he sat up, Fluttershy following suite yawning, the one who didn’t get wet burst out laughing and fell to the floor.

“Nice try Entropy, but you two need to get up earlier than that to prank your old man.” Discord chuckled looking to the young lad on the floor laughing. “And as for you Panda…”

Discord snapped his fingers and Pandemonium looked up as a bucket of water splashed onto his head making him scream from the coldness.

“AAAAAAH!” Pandemonium cried.

“Now Discord sweetheart, be nice to the boys.” Fluttershy said trying to hide a giggle.

The two boys grumbled as they ran off to get changed, figuring it was best to get up now, given the twins were up. Fluttershy and Discord got out of bed and dressed, Discord sporting a white button shirt with black trousers and shoes and Fluttershy a yellow knee length dress. They made their way downstairs and could smell the aroma of freshly made herbal tea, toast and eggs fill their nostrils, as they came to the kitchen they both smiled at the scene.

A young girl wearing white pyjamas with several bunny rabbit faces on them was standing on a stool spreading butter on some toast, like the other two she had a goat horn and a deer antler. Unlike the other two however she had long pink hair that came halfway down her back, she was humming a little tune but gasped hearing a noise and turned round. Her eyes were ice blue and she grinned seeing Discord and Fluttershy, she hoped of the stool and came over hugging the two.

“Morning Mummy and Daddy, I made you breakfast!” She beamed at them. “I heard Entropy and Pandemonium planning to prank you Daddy so I thought you’d like something to cheer you up…but I knew they couldn’t prank you!” she giggled.

“It smells lovely Songflower, thank you.” Discord chuckled as he picked her up.

Songflower giggled as the three sat down to eat, shortly joined by the twins who had changed into black shorts and white shirts. After finishing breakfast Discord cleaned up the plates and went about washing the dishes, he had decided long ago that he would do certain things normally such as cleaning the dishes and other household chores as it allowed him to experience a nice normal life, now and again though he would use his powers to help Fluttershy or to cause some mischief to his friends. He also kept his horns on display at all times now, not needing to disguise himself in town as everyone knew who he was.

Fluttershy took Songflower upstairs and both girls did their teeth before returning to Songflower’s bed room and doing each other’s hair, Songflower was in many ways like her mother. She was kind and caring and got on great with the animals especially angel whereas her brothers didn’t, she also showed signs of shyness especially around new people but was extremely confident when she was in a pace she was comfortable in. After getting into a white knee length skirt and a yellow shirt, the two came back downstairs just as Discord left the kitchen.

The morning carried on as it normally did in the household, Fluttershy and Songflower would tend to the animals whilst Discord would give the twins lessons on controlling their magic. They found out pretty early on the Songflower didn’t need any tutorage as she was able to grasp her powers from an early age, something the twins complained about continuously.

“Come on Entropy, concentrate.” Discord said.

“I’m trying!” Entropy grumbled.

The lesson today was trying to turn a cloud into a pink one that rained chocolate milk, Pandemonium had gotten the hang of it after a few minutes of trying but Entropy was struggling a bit.

“You can’t do it ‘cos you suck.” Pandemonium teased.

“Shut up!” Entropy shot back.

“Make me!”

Discord stepped in-between the two just as they went to fight each other and sighed.

“Boys enough, can we please go one lesson without you squabbling? Or do I have to get your mother involved?”

Discord smirked as the two boys gulped loudly, he didn’t like threatening them this way but he knew that mentioning their mother to stop them fighting was a sure way to get them to behave. Even Discord had to admit the stare was an effective way to control a wild child.

“Yes Dad…” they muttered in unison.

Fluttershy called over to Discord excitedly waving her arms, he smiled and turned back to the twins.

“Keep practicing, I’ll be back in a moment.”

Discord left them and headed over to Fluttershy, as soon as he was far enough Entropy clicked his fingers and concentrated, a pink cloud appeared over Pandemonium and a downpour of chocolate milk rained over him.

“DUDE!” Pandemonium cried.

“Payback Panda!” Entropy grinned.

“Oh yeah? Two can play at that game!”

Pandemonium snapped his fingers and a cloud appeared over Entropy and covered him in chocolate milk, he cried out as Pandemonium laughed before being tackled by Entropy and the two began fighting. As Discord approached Fluttershy he could see Songflower jumping up and down in joy giggling madly to herself with Fluttershy beaming proudly, he raised his eyebrow curiously.

“So what’s all the giggling about?” He asked.

“I got my cutie mark!” Songflower replied grinning.

“She was helping me with the chickens and it just appeared.” Fluttershy said proudly.

“That’s fantastic!” Discord grinned as he gave Songflower a tight hug,

She returned it and continued to giggle, when he put her down she pulled part of her skirt down slightly to reveal a single butterfly mark, almost the same as her mothers.

“I think this calls for a little celebration.” Discord said. “I’ll just go tell the-“

He paused seeing the twins fighting in a chocolate milk puddle as chocolate milk rained on them, he sighed and shook his head.

The family made its way through the streets of Ponyville, Songflower sat on Discords shoulders holding onto his horns for support and Entropy and Pandemonium were running ahead, playing a game of tag as they walked. They were greeted by people as they walked, ranging from quick hellos to a short chat, each chat Songflower declaring proudly about her cutie mark. Each time she said the words Discord would anxiously look around, just waiting for the moment for Pinkie Pie to pop out of nowhere like she would. As they came to the centre of town, Fluttershy gently nudged Discord’s side.

“So dear, where are we going to go to celebrate?” She asked him.

Discord thought for a moment before smiling.

“Well I was thinking we could go to the café, and have a big lunch or something.” He replied.

“Oh! Oh! Oh!” Songflower said, leaning down to look at his face. “Can we go to Sugarcube corner Daddy?”

“Sweetie, if we go there-“

“Yeah Dad!” Entropy interrupted.

“Pleeeeeease?” Pandemonium finished.

Discord sighed and looked to Fluttershy who only giggled, he kinda wanted to avoid going to Sugarcube corner so he didn’t have to be stuck with Pinkie Pie throwing them a party, it wasn’t that he hated the parties they were quite fun. It gave him a chance to prank a couple of his friends, it was because he didn’t really want to be stuck at the shop all day long, and he did have things he wanted to get on with today. But it was his daughter’s special moment and he couldn’t say no to her after how hard she had worked lately, he sighed before smiling to his children.

“Alright, we’ll go over to Sugarcube corner,” He said.

All three children cheered and the twins raced off to the shop, Discord let Songflower down who soon joined her brothers as Fluttershy giggled smiling. She took his hand in her and the two made their way after their children.

“Thank you, come again!”

Pinkie smiled as the customer thanked her and left the shop, it had been a quiet day but she knew something was going to change that, the second she had woken up she had a major Pinkie sense moment and began to make preparations for whatever it was. Even though she didn’t know what it was exactly she was preparing for she knew whatever it was, it could be celebrated with a party.

The bell above the door rang as it was opened; she smiled when the three siblings entered the shop with excited looks on their faces.

“Hey there kids, what brings you here today?” She asked.

“Dads treating us to a celebration!” Entropy grinned.

Pinkie blinked for a moment before her face began to smile, the smile increasing slowly.

“Oh, and what are we celebrating?” She asked eagerly.

“I got my cutie mark!” Songflower grinned.

Pinkie didn’t reply, her smile was more than enough to tell how she was feeling. As Discord and Fluttershy approached the shop they cringed as a high pitched squeal came from the shop.

“OHMYGOSHTHATISSOCOOLWESONEEDTOTHROWYOUAPARTY!”

“Looks like they told Pinkie.” Fluttershy giggled.

Discord shook his head chuckling as he entered the shop with Fluttershy.

“Good afternoon Pinkie.” Fluttershy greeted her.

“Hey Pinkie.” Discord said.

Like a shot Pinkie appeared in front of the two startling them as she bounced up and down on the spot.

“OH MY GOSH THIS SO COOL! WHEN DID SHE GET IT? IS IT LIKE FLUTTERSHY’S? WHAT WAS SHE DOING WHEN-“

Discord put his hand over her mouth to stop her talking, which didn’t exactly work as she continued to muffle into his hand.

“I’m sure that Songflower would love to tell you all about it Pinkie.” Fluttershy said.

“Your right!” Pinkie said pulling away from his hand. “Songflower, you can help yourself to anything you want today, on the house!”

Songflower grinned and made a fist pumping motion as Pinkie continued.

“Now you let your Auntie Pinkie sort out a party, won’t be a moment!”

And with that she shot out of the shop leaving the family in the shop with some other customers.

“Isn’t…she meant to be manning the shop?” Discord asked.

Discord was the lord of chaos, granted he was mortal but he still had a lot of power under his command. But even with all this power, he could never truly comprehend how Pinkie was able to do things she did. Within fifteen minutes of arriving in the store, she had rushed out saying something about gathering up her friends. Discord was surprised to see that she had already set up a whole bunch of food and other party goods, he simply shrugged it off and sat down near Fluttershy, watching as his kids began to play and eat having a good time.

Soon after Pinkie had returned, being followed by the other Elements and others including the Cutie Mark Crusaders, who had become close friends with the three siblings despite being a few years older than them. Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake also joined them, having been upstairs when they heard the commotion and soon had joined in the game of tag that was being played around the shop by the three siblings, the CMC and oddly enough Pinkie.

After a few more minutes had passed, it seemed like more of the town had joined in on the celebration. Discord was having a conversation with Red Bartlett who had stopped by on his lunch break as Fluttershy conversed with her friends. The party went on for a few hours before Pinkie brought out a large chocolate cake for Songflower and the others to devour, as the afternoon turned into earlier evening, people began leaving having fully enjoyed themselves. Discord stood up from the chair he was sat in and stretched his back.

“Ok kids time to go, nearly bed time and you have school tomorrow.” Discord said.

“Awww but Dad!” Entropy and Pandemonium whined in unison.

“No buts.” Fluttershy said. “It’s time to go.”

“Fiiiiiine.” They grumbled and headed for the door.

“Uhm excuse me?” Fluttershy said her hands on her hips.

They looked at her as she raised an eyebrow at them and realised, the turned to Pinkie Pie and grinned.

“Thanks for the party!” They said in unison.

The two headed out of the shop as Songflower gave Pinkie a hug thanking her and following after her siblings, Discord and Fluttershy said goodbye following their children as they headed for home.

Discord and Fluttershy smiled as they looked into the room, it was fairly late now and the two were heading to bed themselves and decided to check in on the kids. The first room they went to was the twin’s bedroom and smiled, even though they were wild and mischievous, they always looked peaceful as they slept. They then checked in on Songflower who was sleeping softly cuddling a plush cat toy Rarity had made for her years ago, Fluttershy giggled softly as she caught Discord smiling fondly at the sight of his daughter asleep.

“What?” He whispered hearing her giggle.

“Going soft are we?” She smirked.

He grinned and leaned down close to her ear.

“When the kids are at school tomorrow…I’ll show you I’m not as soft as you claim.” He purred.

Fluttershy giggled as they headed to their bedroom, Discord sneaking a pinch on her ass making her squeak and playfully push him. They quickly changed into their pyjamas and settled into their bed, Fluttershy resting her head on his chest and Discord wrapping an arm around her waist.

“Good night sweetheart.” Fluttershy said.

“Good night.” He replied smiling.

The two slowly drifted off to sleep, a warm smile on their lips as the house fell silent, save for the soft breathing of the family as they slept.
