Chapter 3:
Saturday, still early in the morning.
The Storm after the silence

Leaving the ground, the houses on it and soon even the trees behind, Rainbow Dash set out for her home in the clouds together with the bound and gagged party pony on her back who was slowly coming around.

"Horseshoes!" Rainbow cursed while picking up speed, "Why did I let Rarity talk me into this? More importantly, why couldn't she have talked me into it sooner?" Dash bemoaned as she felt the pony on her back shift little, making it harder for to keep her balanced.

Luckily, a few minutes later they both safely reached the front door of Dash's house. "Alright, let's get you inside," Dash said to Pinkie without expecting an answer and not getting one. Turning the lock and pushing the door open with one hoof, Rainbow carefully stepped inside making sure that she didn't let her ''guest'' fall on the floor.

Inside, everything was as Dash had left it. Messy. She hadn't cleaned for days, the floor was strewn with random junk, and it was gloomy inside since the curtains were still closed due to the Dash her allergy for mornign sunlight.

The only place that wasn't cluttered was the couch, centered in the living room in front of a large flat-screen TV (Dash liked to watch Greyhorse Anatomy and the Little House on the Clouds). There was just enough room to behind the couch to access a walk-in closet, filled not with clothes, but movies and surprisingly a lot of books. Nobody suspected it, but Dash was almost as avid a reader as Twilight, though Dash gave her preferences to fantasy and adventure books like the daring doo series.

The rest of the house was a kitchen filled with dishes, a curling stair that led up to a bedroom and bathroom, and there was a little balcony that gave the most amazing view over the cloud city and even more on the rest of the world when the clouds were thin enough to look through.

"Hmmm..." Dash suddenly heard from her back. Realizing that Pinkie was waking up, she gently laid the earth pony on the couch and proceeded to stand there like a statue, trying to force down her rising panic while nervously waiting for the inevitable.

As Pinkie slowly woke up, she compared the way she felt to the time she secretly drank an entire bottle of Mr. and Mrs. Cake's special drink. Whinny it was called, or maybe Whine? She carefully stretched her legs, only to realize that they wouldn't budge an inch. Yawning, realized that she couldn't open her mouth, and even her eyes revealed nothing as she tried to blink the sleep out of them.

"Mmmphmmm!" Pinkie suddenly mumbled through the tape across her muzzle, realizing something was definitely wrong. She began squirming in her bonds, pulling and yanking desperately. Panic began to set in as her mind raced, 'I think I've been foalnapped!' This situation reminded her of a movie she once watched with Gummy, were a filly was taken against her will in the city of Mareis. Her father, who was a police officer, was the last person to have heard from her at his home in Neigh Yoke City. Pinkie began groaning more into her gag, struggling in earnest. She knew that if she'd been taken from her home Mr. and Mrs. Cake probably wouldn't know she was missing yet. She wasn't counting on help from her friends either after what had happened yesterday. Why would they bother coming to look for her when they couldn't stand being around her? She was on her own.

If Pinkie only knew the irony of her situation and thinking. No, scratch that, if Pinkie even knew the meaning of irony she would probably have something to laugh about. But since Pinkie didn't know about irony or her situation at the moment, she just began thrashing in her bonds even more, screaming into her gag, "MMPPPH MMPH MGGH MMP!"

Dash had been uncomfortably watching Pinkie's increasing distress and was feeling more guilty by the second. This wasn't worth it. Even if this stupid plan had been thought out well enough in the fist place, if she knew she would have to see Pinkie like this she would have blown it off in a heartbeat.

Trying to calm her bound and gagged friend down, Rainbow slowly approached while speaking softly so as to not startle Pinkie even more. "Pinkie Pie", Dash began, "It's alright, we- I'm not going to hurt you."

Dash slowly stroked her mane the way she remembered Rarity doing for Fluttershy when one of her animal friends died. She saw that it actually helped giving someone a gentle hoof and comforting words; while Rainbow wasn't all into the touchy-feely stuff, she wanted to try at least for Pinkie's sake. "Please, Pinkie," Dash murmured, trying not to let her voice crack from stress, "I know you're scared but you have my word that you're safe."

"Rmmly?" The captive pony replied. While she couldn't really make out the voice because of how soft it was and because she was too distressed and loud herself, she felt comforted. She felt as if the speaker was someone special.

Rainbow smiled at the reaction, "Really? Yeah, Pinkie swear." It was enough for Pinkie and she slowly relaxed, letting her limbs go slack in her bonds. "If you can sit still for a minute, I can remove the blindfold, OK?" Dash said, relieved.

Pinkie nodded her head at hyper speed, really curious to know who she was talking to. She had her suspicions now that she could hear the voice more clearly.

"Alright," Dash said as she slowly and gently removed the blindfold from Pinkie's head. As the blindfold was finally removed Pinkie had to let her eyes adjust, but not for long due to the low light, until they finally focused on the rainbow maned pegasus kneeling beside her.

Pinkie couldn't understand it. Not so long ago she thought Dashie never wanted to see her again, and now she was a guest in her home? 'Well not exactly a guest,' the party pony thought, 'Unless all of Dashie's guests are bound, gagged, blindfolded and flown in while asleep? Ooh! Is it a special initiation? Am I in some kind of Dashie visiting club now?' after all, Pinkie wasn't all that familiar with pegasi customs, but she was still open minded.

"MMS, summed Hmmm mmHg mump mmHg Hmmm Hmmm mummed mimed mump mmHg!!" Pinkie had instantly started trying to talk a mile a minute, asking a thousand questions while both thanking Dash for inviting her over and apologizing for upsetting her the other day at the same time. However due to her enthusiasm , she forgot all about the tape still sealing her lips.

"Uh, Pinkie?" Dash started, beginning to feel the all to familiar awkwardness, "Maybe you should wait until I remove that tape?" Pinkie stopped mumbling for a second and then tried to form the best smile she could despite the tape, while once again nodding at Dash with an incredible head banging speed.

But as Dash reached for the tape around Pinkie's lips she was halted by a thought. 'Hey you brain dead mule, do you even remember why she was bound and gagged in the first place? This whole mess started because you and the others were trying to keep her quiet for once. And now you want to just remove it so that she can talk your ears off? Or even worse, freak out on you and scream for help? Nice move, genius, I'm guessing you'll make some Griffon real happy in prison.' Thanking her brain like never before, Dash suddenly spoke again with a more stern voice, "Listen Pinkie, if I'm going to take that tape off there are some ground rules to go over." Pinkie seemed surprised at the sudden change of attitude, but stayed quiet.

"Rule one, no talking faster than 15 miles an hour. Rule two, no yelling for help in any way. I won't hurt you, I won't do anything, but if you try calling for help I'll slap the tape back on your muzzle again and leave it like that." Dash was observing Pinkie while laying out her rules, her face was blank but she seemed to be listening so maybe this was a sign it would at least go smoother then she thought at first. "And last but most important of all, let me get a word in edgewise, don't interrupt me when I 'm talking, and LISTEN when I tell you something. You do those things and there won't be a problem at all. You think you're able to do that?"

Pinkie snapped out of her daze and focused on the question Rainbow had just asked her. She was listening to Rainbow the entire time, though some part of her hyperactive brain was having strange thoughts about what was going to happen now that she was alone with Dashie, in her cloud home, tied up... It excited her in a strange way she had never felt before. Not even being able to mumble, she simply nodded and awaited Dash's next move.

Dash saw the nod as a sign that she had understood and agreed to the rules and slowly peeled the tape of Pinkie's mouth to make sure it wasn't going to sting much. But just as with a bandage, taking it off slowly had the opposite effect. Pinkie yelped softly when it was completely of, the tape left a light red rectangle around her mouth. Dash tossed the tape on the table. For the first time in her life she had no idea what to do so she simply stared at the ground. She wasn't ashamed of what she had done, exactly. In fact she wanted to believe that helping Pinkie tone it down would help the hyperactive pony more in the end. Then not just her friends but the other citizens of Ponyville would be able to have her around with way more ease. Pinkie really liked being around other ponies, but no one could deal with her for long.

After about five minutes (which seemed more like five hours) the silence was finally broken, not by Rainbow but by Pinkie, or to be more precise Pinkie's stomach which was grumbling like the biggest thunder storm in years. "I think you could do with some food," Dash said with a short chuckle which she could not hold in.

"Yeah i guess so," Pinkie said blushing a little. If her hooves weren't tied together she would have used them to hide her face in embarrassment (Yes, even Pinkie gets embarrassed. She's only hu- pony).

"When was the last time you ate?" Dash asked her friend.

"I guess that would be... yesterday morning," Pinkie replied thinking back little about the events from yesterday and starting to look a little sad.

"WHAT?" Dash shouted, causing Pinkie to almost fall off the couch in shock. "Horseapples, Pinkie, you should have told me sooner you haven't eaten for that long!" She now faced the pink pony who was trying to regain her balance as best as she could on the couch.

"Well it was little hard telling you trough that sticky tape, Dashie," Pinkie said with a small smile at how concerned her friend seemed for her wellbeing. She was glad Dash at least had some care for her after yesterday.

It was Dash's turn to look embarrassed, "Yeah, I guess you've got a point there. Alright I'm going to make some food, got anything you like in particular?" Dash asked before mentally smacking herself in the face for really asking such an obvious question.

"CUPCAKES!" Pinkie said little harder then she initially intended, but truth be told she was actually pretty hungry now that she was done panicking. Even her mane and tail where starting to look a bit fluffier now.

"OK, OK, Pinkie. First things first," Rainbow said, quickly interrupting Pinkie's hyper happiness, "Remember our agreement?" She asked as she picked up the piece of tape and held it in front of her captive's face. "No shouting, or-"

"But Dashie, you said no shouting for help, not no shouting at all." She finished with a chuckle.

"Ugh," Rainbow said, feeling embarrassed at being outwitted by Pinkie again, "Then from now on it's no shouting at all. And what did I say about interrupting?" Dash asked with a stern expression.

"Oh, yeah," Pinkie grinned sheepishly, "I'm sorry Dashie, I'll remember from now on."

"Thank you" Dash said with a smile, trying to show some sort of remorse for suddenly being so strict again. For reasons she didn't understand it was becoming increasingly difficult to be stern towards the cute pink mare. But the thought of being sent to prison for foalnapping (after all, Pinkie might forgive them, but she doubted anyone else would be as understanding) bolstered her resolve.

"And also Pinkie, I'm not giving you cupcakes," Dash said, earning a sad look from the party pony, "They'll make you even more hyper then you usually are, and I can't handle that. While you're here I'm only serving some healthy, normal food. I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason you can't control your energy is that your insides are at least 80 percent sugar."

"90 percent!" Pinkie replied, laughing. Dash wasn't sure about her own comment being a joke or rather a suspicion.

"Alright, smart mouth, I hope you like fresh alfalfa and wheat grass smoothies, cause that's actually the only thing I can whip up now since I didn't have time to go shopping..." Dash said chuckling little again.

"Alright Dashie, but I actually have a lot of questions, like whydidyoufoalnapmewhenarewe goingtogoprankingwhenarewegoingtoeatcupcakeswheredoIsleepdoyoualwaysdothisto peoplewhoyoutaketoyourhomeisthatyournaturalmanecolo- mmppphh!"

"Sorry, Pinkie," Dash said pressing the tape back onto her pink captive's lips. "I know you have a lot of questions and I want to answer them, I really do. But I explained the rules and three strikes means you're out." She finished as she grabbed a pillow and lifted Pinkies head little so she could slide the pillow underneath.

"You just lay back a little while I get some food," Rainbow instructed her while grabbing the remote and switching on the TV to some show called "Two Stallions, a Mare, and a Candy Store".
"And when we've eaten I promise I'll answer all your questions as long as you behave and the questions aren't too stupid or anything."

Pinkie, knowing she had no other choice but to comply, simply lifted her head a little to nod, then dropping it again.

"Good, well... eh... I'll be in the kitchen..." Dash said a little clumsy while heading to her little cooking nook, "Holler if you need anything" she said to Pinkie over her back.

"Mmmpph?" Pinkie replied, wondering how Dash could be serious about that last comment.

Finally, Pinkie just decided to turn her attention to the show on the tube. As she relaxed into the couch and nestled her head into Dash's soft, warm cloud pillow she thought, 'It smells like Dashie, fresh like a cool summer breeze and a little bit floral,' as she took a deep breath, letting it out in a sigh.
