Chapter Three: It's Finally Mine

Previous Chapter

Rarity stomped off in the direction of Twilight's house. Spike made a half regretful, half confused glance at her and kept walking along. He must've been doing something for Twilight, maybe shopping? Maybe she was too busy to do it herself. Rarity thought for a second, and then continued walking. "Those ponies trusted me," she muttered to herself.

She finally approached the big brown house and knocked on the door. A purple unicorn opened the door. The book was coated in a glow of purple, being levitated by Twilight Sparkle, right in front of her, which her eyes were locked on. "You already got it, Spi- oh, I thought you were Spike! Come in. What do you need?"

Rarity blinked and looked around, then looked at the book. "Are you busy with that book?" Rarity started, trying not to act too eager, but she felt more rushed than ever knowing the two ponies wanted a diamond dress.

Twilight met Rarity's eyes, trying to look for an answer. "Er... not really."

Rarity unconsciously fiddled her hooves around. "Could I borrow it?" She smiled and batted her eyes innocently.

Twilight made a regretful look, the same face Spike had made, and sighed. "There's nothing in it," she said.

Rarity felt like she was on fire. "Really, can I just see it?"

The purple mare raised one eyebrow and handed it over to Rarity. "Sure, but there's nothing to see."

"Mmmhmm." She ran off with the book almost at the same instant she grabbed it, and stopped, panting when she reached the Carousel Boutique. She couldn't imagine what would be in such a wonderful, amazing looking book.

Her eyes widened as she opened to the first page. There was literally nothing! Rarity felt so stupid, but at the same time in shock and kept looking for any sign of information in the book. It couldn't just be empty. She flipped through the pages, and stopped at the last page. She nearly passed out when she read the few shone words.

We spent so much time on the cover that there was no time to write the book, but so much time was spent that we couldn't just keep it and do nothing!
