Chapters The Tone of Forgotten Bells
Chapter 1: Forgotten Memory
As you trotted through the small town of Ponyville, on the way to the first day of your new school(as you have recently moved to Ponyville); you started humming a peaceful tune, when some pony screams, "WATCH OUT!!!" You made a quick turn in response, only to have met a sudden force colliding with your torso, knocking the wind from your lungs. A sharp ringing resonated within your ears after the collision, yet you could still hear arguing going on. For some reason, however, their names had never come as clear as the rest of their conversation.
"Oh darn it, why don't you ever pay attention to where you are going, ______!?” yelled a feminine, southern voice
Not southern per say- A southern accident. You had questioned why someone would have a southern voice
"Why don’t you stop arguing with me, ______!" You couldn't quite make out the rest of the arguing, and you had slowly stared to get up. A good reason to ignore something you have no business listening in on in the first place. When you managed to rise, and just barely get back on your hooves, the ringing had dispat-
"Are you all right? I wasn't sure because of how fast _____ was going…. Here, let me try to help you up."
Can a narrator not narrate about things in past tense, avoiding all name reveals, and breaking the fourth wall NARRATE IN PEACE?!
Ahem.
Fallen back again in surprise, she approaches you, talking in such a quiet tone you cannot hear her; But her voice is soft enough that it has a soothing effect on you. By the time you had sensed her soft fur brushing against your body, she had already pulled you to your feet. You finally noticed whom the three voices where- 3 fillies of your age, but for some reason you could only tell by their voices. Probably because their entire faces were shrouded in black, with only their coat’s colors visible on their legs.
"I'm fine”, you assure the kindly fillies, “So need to worry- But I need to get to school!”. You slowly trot away toward the building that may or may not randomly catch on fire, the school house, far in the distance. Of course, fire seems more likely because of how much distraction you would need to enter the heavily guarded base that is a school, late and unnoticed.
But you are a young pony, after all, so these had been clear presumptions were inaccurate. But this town did have _____ as the patron comedy actor and baker, so you could never know.
I don't even know my way to the school. Dimmit, I'm still new to Ponyville! Now that I think about it, isn’t that the school in the distance?
…..
Nah, it’s just a small abandoned one. No equestrian school looks like that anymore.
As you stared out in search of a more likely candidate of a schoolhouse, and into oblivion; normal people don’t have thought processes that long…or at least, normal people don’t stare blindly into nothingness while they think. A small poke caught your attention. The white coated filly was asking if you were new, since they haven't seen you before. As you replied with a yes, and a small blush for asking for their help to locate the school you had, before being plowed over, would never have found without the mishap. And, more likely, because you were staring into nothingness before a girl intercepted your line of sight. And caught your attention.
And made you think thoughts inappropriate for this fanfiction and your age.
The filly was the leader, and was directly in front of you, as she took you over to her friends and explained the issue
Though there was no plausible reason not to just allow, without asking her friends, you to just follow them on their way to the school. It was school time for them too after all-
Wait, I wasn’t supposed to admit the obvious schoolhouse is the schoolhouse for them, was I?
It soon became clear that the White filly and her friends where going to make this more complicated then need be, when the Orange filly had told you to hop into a wagon attached to a scooter. Once you were in position, the Orange PEGASUS filly got onto the scooter and had begun flapping her strangely small wings at an incredible speed for her age. As you dashed through Ponyville being roughly dragged by the dare-devil filly’s scooter, you caught a glimpse of town hall and the stores of Uptown Ponyville. Uptown? I never heard of Uptown before to describe Non-downtown. Signs around here just don’t make sense….
After about five minutes, you arrived at the exact school you thought to be abandoned. Slightly annoyed by your mistake and the motion sickness from the trip, you followed the three fillies. Two of which somehow made it along with you, despite neither of them boarding the scooter or the box. Inside, and as you started walking to the school, some of the other foals were staring at you; only because they had a new kid, and everyone is curious about a new kid. Especially a ‘foreign’ new kid. When you got inside, a pink coated mare was wrighting a message on the chalk board. She did not notice you, so you spoke up, since otherwise you could go unnoticed even though you had wanted to long before hand since you were extremely late.
"Um, excuse me? I'm the new student.."
She stopped writing and smiled at you, and introduced herself. However, you cannot remember her nor your name, and you simply never answered her question of ‘and who are you?’.
How impolite!
You sat at the chair she had pointed out to you as your own. As it turns out you weren’t late, as the bell rang minutes later. Foals whom were late started filing in, and you took a glance to your sides. To the right, the yellow coated filly. To your left, the white coated filly.
"All right, class, let us begin."
But, after she pronounced that, your world fades into oblivion once more- endless darkness. The ground isn’t there any longer, and you descended into the pit.

Chapter 2: Leaving "Home"
As you awoke, you realized you were covered in your own sweat and still a bit groggy when you finally decided to get up. You proceeded to the bathroom for a cold shower, like you always did whenever something unusual occurred.
Another dream?, you ask yourself, but for some reason-it dawns on you that it may have been a small piece of a forgotten memory. Of course, it wasn’t exactly forgotten if you remembered a fragment of it, but it’d be better if this small detail was abandoned, the heartless bastard you where. You held onto this thought while the cold water ran through your coat and mane
'Just who the HAY were those fillies?'
Once you finished your shower, and after drying off because you definitely would have gone downstairs without drying off, and getting yourself a cold on top of your dream conundrum and that was were mother and father awaited. You never could get along with them, as they were fairly insistent on recovering your lost memories. Many would have doubted it to be a fine idea to focus on your disliked parents and aggravate their obsession, but you’d be damned if you weren't brave enough to try facing them with your own opinions. After all, what’s wrong with who I am now?
The few memories you managed to ‘stumble across’ about them where more so negative, always fighting, never getting along. In fact, they never got along with the old you either! You still wanted to test how much your parents cared for the old you. More so than who you where ‘now’!So, without any other thoughts on the matter, you met up with your parents.
“Morning son, sleep well?” said the grey unicorn in front of you. You simply gave an indifferent ‘no’. Proving yourself to be a brave old spirit, you slipped in that you had a dream of a previously forgotten memory. Now, what was that about aggravating their obsession? With that announcement, the clockwork paused. Time seemed to stop for a few minutes, before your parents launch into a bombardment of questions about your dream. After five whole minutes of this seemingly endless rubbish, you feel a nerve snap.
"ENOUGH!" you yell, annoyed by their over-excited questionnaire. They froze up yet again, and begin a lecture you swore you heard many times before
“Son, we just want to help you”
'Bull'
You KNEW they just wanted you out of their home so they would not have some mentally unstable wreck in their home. Ever since the ‘incident’, you were always on edge- just about to truly snap. But this time, this time was the one time he wasn't going to listen to their lies! After a couple of minutes of furious shouting, you rose up and stormed out of your home.
No plans ready, nothing. You just left, galloping down the streets of town, heading for somewhere to blow some steam. Though this was only your first time telling them he had caught on to their charade long ago, he already had a quiet place to settle down after an argument. One that had never been found. Eventually, you arrived at the secret place; within a scrap yard, you simply found and kicked up a two by four, and broke it instantly.Though there would be several more in an Equestrian scrap yard, considering the ‘wide range’ of scrap able items available in Equestria.
"Oi! I can tell you’re mad right now, snapping that wood like that.” said a rough, scratchy voice. When you turned around, you saw a tan-coated Pegasus with a red mane.
"Yeah, I am. Fix, do you have anything that needs to be turned into scrap?" After the question was asked, the Pegasus went farther inside and reemerged with a broken old table in tow, and proceeded to set it up.
"All I have at the moment, so go ahead." Fix replied, after preparing the table. With a strong buck, you sent splinters flying everywhere. So, after that, Fix invited you inside his little shack of a home, if you could call it that. He preferred to live where he worked; fixing anything that others think are broken.Believe it, people will sometimes think something that is perfectly fine is broken. It’s all in opinion.
Fix was the only pony you considered a friend- therefore, your true friend. The only one you had in the entire town of yours.
Even though you changed on him, he never made it his job to bring the old you back, and accepted whom you where ‘now’.
After telling him what went on, he didn't seem surprised. He knew that you and your family never got along, even with your memories.
"You know bro? I think it's about time we get you out of this town, as there really isn't much for you here, and so, I am willing to help you with that." He smiled cheerfully, since he was only doing what he thought was best for you.
"But where would I go Fix? I have no place left but here."
Fix nearly closed his eyes, and thus, began his thinking process. His eyes snapped open as he realized something. "I know where you can go! Before you lost your memories, there was this little town called Ponyville you used to live in. Maybe you could live there!"
'Ponyville? Isn't that the town I was in, in last nights’ dream?'
After about a couple hours of spent planning, Fix lent you the bits to get a train ticket for Ponyville. He said you could pay him back when you are able to, and he helped you get a few belongings that were still at your house. As you and Fix walked through town, on the way to the train station, you decided to glance at the place you had called home for years. A small town, one that was a bit gloomy, as you can say, holding a population of mostly grey ponies. Fix and you are a member of the exceptions. When you approached the station, it was clear that it was time to say goodbye.
"Well, this is where we say goodbye, Fix." You said, with a sorrow dripping over you.
After you closed your eyes, he patted you on the shoulder.
"Hey bro, no need to get all sad on me. I will be sure to visit you sometimes, so remember this isn't our last goodbye. Who knows, maybe if you like Ponyville a lot, I might move there!" He replied with a smile.
A brohoof was exchanged, and you got on the train
As you began to look out through the window, you felt drowsiness overtake you. Probably because of the lack of sleep, from the abrupt ending of the memory in the early morning. As you closed your eyes, a single thought crept through your mind.
'Cheers, to a new beginning!'

Chapter 3: A Surprising Welcome
As the train continued to go speed along the tracks, on its way to Ponyville a stray beam of sunlight hit your eyes for a little rude awakening. After completing your morning rituals and leaving your room one of the staff members was passing by so you decided to ask how far away from Ponyville the train was. He told you that they were just a hour away from their destination, so you decided to go back to your room. As you lay back down a sudden thought popped up. What are you going to do when you get there? Where will you go? You just hoped that someone you used to know would be there to give you a hoof, but thankfully Fix left you a couple of bits till you can get job at Ponyville. After about an hour the train was nearing the stop, so as you grabbed your saddle bags and stepped off the train you glanced at the small town that left you breathless. The sun was shining bright, cheerful ponies all around, you’ve only been here for just about a minute and it already looked like the complete opposite of you’re so called “home”. Your train of thought was interrupted by a sudden boom sound where a pink mare with poufy hair was greeting everyone. As she was greeting people, she suddenly kicked her left hind leg and then her ears twitched, after she started looking around till she caught sight of you with a gasp and then suddenly you were attacked by a blur of pink. But as you opened your eyes she was right there with a excited look on her face.
“OhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygosh I remember you, you were that colt that always hanged around the CMC members. So what are you like now? You have a new mane style now, what’s your favorite color? Again will all these questions but this hyper active mare seemed to recognize you. As you cut her off and ask who she was her hair flattened and her smile disappeared.
“You’re saying that you don’t remember me. But how? You lived her for years and were always causing trouble.” Once she said that a hard feeling hit you in the gut and feeling bad that you did this, you decided to tell her about the little incident while moving your mane out of the way to show a scar. She gasped but hearing why her hair returned a little back to normal but just with less spring in her step. So she asked you to follow her but she was dashing off ahead. But before she said her name was Pinkie Pie, an odd name just fitting perfectly for an odd pony. A lot of pones were giving you and this mare looks as she dragged you across the ground. When she finally stopped you looked up to see a house that looked like it was made of candy. She quickly said it was called SugerCube Corner and dragged you inside.
“Oui! Pinkie where have you been mom & dad were curious as to why you weren’t here when they woke up.” Said a voice a little scratchy probably an early teenaged stallion. When you looked it was a Pegasus with a tan coat and brown mane. He gave you a curious look but Pinkie quickly whispered in his ear something.
“Really you want me to go now but I have work to do.” He said quietly to the pink mare. After about five minutes of talking he finally gave a sigh in defeat.
“Well now I will be stepping out for a bit then, Pinkie make sure not to drive him to crazy. Oh and by the way the name’s Pound I heard you were a sort of godfather to me when I was a baby but see you later.” Pound proceeded out the door and with the sound of flapping wings meaning he took off. After five minutes of talking with Pinkie explaining who you once knew. It appears you were a student of thee Twilight Sparkle. You were always good with magic but to be trained under the Princess of Magic herself made you spit take.
“Pinkie who are you talking to and where did Pound disappear to?” Said a famine voice that once again sounded like an early teenager. A unicorn with a yellow coat and orange mane walks in and is a little surprise to see you. When Pinkie explained the situation she already had the sigh of defeat before an argument had begun apparently she was used to this type of thing.
“Sorry about Pinkie if she is interrogating you my name is Carrot Cake but you can called me CC.” She said with a smile. When you talked with Pinkie and CC for a while Pound cake came back in but with an orange mare with a purple mane and tail by him. Off the tip of your tongue she looked quite familiar.
“So Pinkie what is this ‘surprise you speak of’ said the orange Pegasus. Pinkie dashed over to her and whispered in her ear something. She suddenly gasped and took off directly at you surprising you with a hug that knocked you out of your seat.
“OhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygosh I can’t believe it’s really you! So tell me how have things been for you?” She said, and it looks like it’s going to get a little awkward since she knows you but you don’t know her. Pinkie quickly gave a look of concern and whispered in the orange Pegasus’s ear.
“What do you mean that all questions will be answered when they get here I want to catch up with him while we wait.” Pinkie quickly gave her a dark look the scared you and her so she remained silent. The sudden chime of the bell broke the silence as an Earth Pony with a yellow coat and red mane with a scarf tied around her neck walked in. As once again the process continued just like when the Orange Mare walked in she jumped at you and gave you a strong huge. Definitely a farmer girl considering her accent when she greeted you and her strength. She and the Orange Pegasus were talking to themselves waiting for the last person to show up. When the bell chimed both of the unnamed mares jumped out of their seats and rushed to the door. After about five minutes of talking in the other room a stamped of hooves could be heard as you turned your head a blur of white quickly knocks you out of your seat for the third time!
“Hey I can’t believe it’s you! So tell us how things have been.” Pinkie explained to PC and CC about your condition with your approval of course so they had the now three unnamed mares sit down.
“Come on Pinkie let us talk to him.” Said the orange Pegasus. CC quickly told her that everything will now be explained. “All right I’m sorry for this but I don’t remember any of you.” You said while looking down to avoid seeing their faces. You heard a little sniffle and silence but Pound said that there is a valid reason for this.
“All right if you wouldn’t mind will you please tell us?” Said the White unicorn, her voice it’s just so soothing, you thought silently.
“All right it started about six years ago. I was showing my friends a new magic spell I learned but something horrible went wrong with the it causing all of us to teleport all of us near a cliff which broke off causing us all to fall. I used my magic once again to save us but will all that magic energy used I teleported us to safety but landed on my horn causing a huge magic burst the left a very nasty injury on my head and giving me Amnesia. I was in a coma for four months before I woke up and knew nothing of my past besides anything basic learned in school.” You moved your mane that covered the scar and they gasped and look at you with glassy eyes. They then walked over to you and proceeded to hug you which was rather unnatural to you being from a gloomy village.
“I guess we will just have to accept this isn’t we even though the memories we had with you are forgotten in your eyes.” Said the white mare. The other two mares did the same thing and shook their heads.
“Well I guess we should start off with who we are I’m Sweetie Belle.” The white mare now known as Sweetie Belle said.
“The name’s Applebloom.”
“My name is Scootaloo, but you can call me Scoots.” The now known three mares already knew your name so you didn’t have to bother with introductions.“Wells it’s nice to meet you all but now my next question is, where am I going to stay?” Pinkie, Carrot, and Pound all looked at each other and told you there was no more room in there house. The three mares around you all looked at each other and Applebloom nodded to them.
“Ya can stay with my Family and I we have plenty of room at our farm.” After a couple of minutes sorting everything out and gather your things. All of you agreed with this and walked to Appleblooms home while they told you how they knew you. Apparently you were in a group called the Cutie Mark Crusaders which makes sense since occasional one or two of the foals in your old town would salute you or ask for an autograph. I guess after you moved a branch was started there thanks to you so now that question was cleared up. You were the first of them to gain a cutie mark which was a magic tome. It shows you had a skill with magic and it makes sense since Pinkie told you that Twilight Sparkle was your teacher. When you arrived at this Apple Farm an orange mare and a Red stallion were talking on the porch.
“AppleBloom you’re back so what was the reason why you had to leave the farm so suddenly?” Applebloom introduced you to this orange mare that then had a shocked reaction to who you were. She then hugged you but once again you were uneasy and she let you go and asked if you remembered her. How many ponies do you have to tell your secret to but Applebloom said there was a reason but you would rather not explain it. \
“Sorry ‘bout that partner since you don’t remember me ta name is AppleJack and this big feller is Big Macintosh.” The big red stallion nodded at you and you nodded back. Applebloom asked if you could stay since you don’t have a place and she gladly said yes. Sweetie Belle and Scoots said that they had to go and after a quick bye hug they began walking back into town. AppleBloom and Applejack talked to you over dinner about what you were like and what adventures you went on. They told you how you got your cutie mark when a pack of Timber Wolves tried to attack you guys but you suddenly had a burst of magic that beat most of them while the others fled. After dinner AppleJack showed you the room that was going to serving as yours. You unpacked what little you had and began resting on the bed while looking at the night sky. If it was one thing that comforted you was the night sky the stars and the moon always there and always shining it made you relax. You closed your eyes and began falling into the most peaceful sleep you have had for a long time.
