*Click* Leafpool, the light brown land pony, turns on the T.V. then soon decides there is nothing good on, the usual Saturday morning. She sighs then gets up to go get herself some breakfast. She chooses some Cheerios then gets some milk out of the fridge.

She sits at the table and eats her cereal. She then looks at the clock and groans. 7:58 AM. "This day is gonna be slow." she mumbles to herself. As she takes the last bite of her cereal, before rinsing it in the sink, she decides to go hang out with her friend, Mapleshade. She then gets up and walks down the hall then turns into the second door on the left. The bathroom. She brushes her very tangled mane. "Ow!" She squeaks as she brushes through the rats nest on her head.

She had just gotten done brushing her teeth as she puts on a scarf, due to the cold outside. She walks out of the small one-story house then looks up into the sky. Dark gray. She looks down at her hooves and is very sad as she suddenly remembers her sister. She had been named Amber. Amber had been really sick and recently passed away. A tear rolls down Leafpool's cheek so she rubs it off then starts the short walk to her friends house.

She walks past sugar cube corner and looks through the window and sees Pinkie Pie looking sadly at the gray sky. Leafpool waves as the pink pony looks at her. She waves back then walks back behind the counter. Leafpool feels a sudden drop of water on her forehead. She looks up and its lightly raining. She begins running toward her friends house.

By the time she gets to Mapleshade's house, she is almost soaking wet. Mapleshade gives her a towel and some hot chocolate. "Why on earth did you come here in RAIN?!" Mapleshade asks worriedly. "I.... I got bored..." Leafpool says as she takes a sip of her hot chocolate.

By about 1:00, it stopped raining. "Hey we should go get some food." Leafpool nudges Mapleshade. "Where do you wanna go?" Mapleshade questioned Leafpool. "Dunno.... Taco Bell or somethin'..." Leafpool answered. "Ugh..... I just had that like two days ago." Mapleshade whined. "Okay.... Then how about Burger King? Its a short walk, anyway." Mapleshade nodded approval

They got out of the house and walked down the road a little ways and then they finally got to Burger King. They both ordered their food then raced each other to a field. The field was just out of a forest and it was a wide stretch of grass and a cliff. Down the cliff was a river, fuller now from the rain. They sat down near the edge of the cliff in the damp grass. Leafpool picked a small, pink flower and put it in her mane.

They ate their food and played hide n' seek. It was Leafpools turn to hide. She went deep into the forest and found a big stack of rocks and there was a small opening. Leafpool went into it and the cave was pitch black. She decided to hide just at the opening of the cave. She crouched down by a small rock. A few minutes later she hears Mapleshades voice. "LEEAAAFFFPOOOLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS ISN'T FUNNY! I CAN'T FIND YOU!"

Leafpool grunted then got up. She decided she shall sneak up behind Mapleshade. And that is just what she did. Mapleshade jumped. Then let out a sigh of relief. "I almost had a heart attack!" She scolded. "Sheesh... mom! I was just hiding not too far away from here, you dope." Leafpool joked.

They were sitting close to the edge of the cliff, looking up and making shapes out of the clouds. "Hehe... That one looks like a bunny!" Leafpool pointed at a fluffy white cloud. And she was right! The girls giggled. They were preparing to leave. It was about 4:00 by now. Suddenly Mapleshade screamed and Leafpool whipped around. She stared in horror at what she saw. It was a small black pony with holes in his hooves and his clear, green wings. He had fangs, much like a bats. He had holes in his dark green mane, as well. "CH.....CH.........CHANGELING!!!!!!!!!!!"

Leafpool ran into the forest, looking back to see if Mapleshade was coming. She was on her tail. Leafpool darted for the cave she found earlier. A loud scream split the silence, well almost silence. Leafpool looked back and saw Mapleshade on the ground a few paces back. "NOOOOO!" Leafpool cried in horror as the changeling flew away. She ran to Mapleshade. Blood littered the ground around her. "NO NO NO NO NO NO!" Leafpool began to cry. Mapleshade was indeed dead. Or close to death anyway. Mapleshades eyes flew open. "L.....Leafpool..... I will miss you, my friend. And I will wait for you in heaven." Mapleshade gasped then her body became lifeless. Leafpool threw her head down onto Mapleshades chest.

Leafpool looked up to see a changeling flying straight at her! Leafpool got up and swung around and ran for the cave again, wiping away her tears. She finally got to the cave she ran in and hid in the darkness. She tried to keep out of sight. She figured running farther into the cave would help. She turned and ran deeper into the cave. she felt the ground beginning to go downwards. This cave was going deeper and deeper into the ground.

Suddenly the air began to get moist and she saw a blue light. She stopped then gasped. "What?" She whispered. The light was moving as if it was...... alive. The light grew nearer and nearer. It got so close, Leafpool could make out what it was. It was blue and white glowing vines twining together. Before she knew it... the vines were beginning to wrap around her front hooves!
