Shrunken Dash

BOOM! Another explosion was set of in the library causing clouds of smoke to shroud round it. BOOM! more explosions where let of as Twilight Sparkle attempted a very difficult spell. The purple unicorn's eyes where starting to become very blood shot and she had bag's beginning to form under her eyes. The bag's however where un-noticeable due to the rings of soot from previous explosion's around her eyes.

"Spike!" Shouted a very angry, and some what sooty Twilight. "SPIKE WHERE ARE YOU! I need you to come and clean up this mess right now!"

"Yeah Twilight" Spike asked, peeking round the door and trying his est to contain his laughter until he lay on the floor clutching his stomach laughing at the no longer purple, but black and grey unicorn.

"Spike stop it!" She shouted at him getting very annoyed. "L-let me guess!" Spike said, struggling to stop laughing. "You tried to make another sandwich!" He laughed showing a toothy smile. At that moment Twilight blushed and got very angry at spike.

"I did NOT! If you think this is so funny them you can clean the library! That mean's putting all the book's back on the shelves to. Let's see... put them on alphabetically! No! Put them on y the date they where published!" Twilight smiled and walked away leaving a very angry spike just to gawk at her as she went to the basement.

Twilight closed the door to the basement so that she would not be disturbed. She picked up a book from a section she kept down here named -Highly Advanced Magic-. Twilight sat down and decided to look through the spells to see which one she would like to try. After what seemed like an hour or two she finally found a spell named -Shrinking spell-. She was curious and wanted to see the results so she thought she would try it on one of the old boxes down in the basement. She rooted around the basement in search of an empty box, as she did not want to end up shrinking more than one thing at a time in case the consequences turned out to be quite drastic. She made sure to have the counter spell beside her in case anything happened to go wrong. She readied her horn and focused on the box.

"INCOMING" Rainbow Dash yelled as she crashed into the library steps and into the basement. The door barged open and Rainbow dash flopped down the steps. The sudden noise caused Twilight to loose her concentration and the last thing she saw was a cyan rainbow maned pegasus lying in front of her. Then the explosion came. This one was much larger than some of the ones Twilight had caused upstairs and most of ponyville's residents looked towards the library, including Rarity whom was just making her way back from the fabric store.

When Twilight opened her eyes she expected to see Rainbow Dash in front of her but she wasn't. She looked down to the floor and gave a sudden scream of fright. In front of her lay Rainbow dash but she was only a fraction of her original height. "Oh no! Oh no oh no this is bad, this is VERY bad." Twilight yelled. "Rainbow Dash?" She asked trying to get her tiny friends attention.

"OW! Do you mind? That's sore and why are you shouting?" Rainbow asked, with a very adorable squeaky voice. Twilight couldn't help but "Awww" at Rainbow's voice. "What are you awww-ing at anyway" She said and finally opened her eyes. She hadn't remembered everything in here being so big! Her gaze slowly fell on the now, towering Twilight and her jaw dropped. "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" She screamed, jumping back in fright.

"Ummmm, it's okay Dash this isn't as bad as it looks!" Twilight said, with a fake grin across her face. She walked over to the minnature cyan pegasus to get a better look at her,

"WHAT THE HAY! I'M TWO BUCKING INCHES TALL" Dash yelled, flying up to Twilight and perching herself upon her nose carefully to ensure she didn't fall while still glaring at Twilight,

"Look it's okay I can just get the counter spell and everything will be fine!" She said happily, using her magic to hold on to Rainbow. "Ummm, let's see," She said as she started to look around. "The counter spell book was right here! She lifted up a few boxes and papers only to find a familiar looking, but burnt and empty book. She gulped hoping that this was not the book that she needed. She used her hoof to gently turn the charred book around and looked at the cover. It was hard to make out but it said on the front -counter spells for the book "Highly Advanced Magic" volume 7- "Oh this is not good at all! Twilight yelled.

"What! What happened!" Shouted a very worried and very small Rainbow Dash quickly getting worked up as the thought of many bad thing's that could end up happening filled her thoughts.

"The book. I-It's... Oh I'm so so SO sorry Rainbow Dash that was an irreplaceable book and I don't even know where else to find the counter spell!" She cried, flood's of tears escaping her eyes. As she lay on the ground she forgot that her magic was what was keeping rainbow up. The spell broke the and Rainbow landed with a tiny thump on the ground.

Rainbow lay on the floor as realisation hit her. "S-so you c-can't change me back!" She gasped with horror looking up at the enormous crying Twilight.

"I don't know!" Twilight sobbed even harder at the thought of her friend being stuck like this and that she had cast the spell and burnt the book.

"Twilight darling, are you down there?" Came a very prim and posh voice. "I got some help in case anything was wrong." She said.

"Twalight sugar cube are y'all down there? Are ya OK?" Another pony said. Further sobs came from Twilight and she barely acknowledged her friend's presence. The two ponies came down and stared at the soot covered basement and then Twilight.

"TWILIGHT! My goodness what happened down here?" Rarity asked.

"I-I, Rainbow..." She stuttered as a fresh stream of tear began to fall from her eyes.

"Twalight sugar, ah don't even undertand what y'all are trying ta say, ya sound worse than Apple Bloom does after a dozen failed cutie mark attemp's now tell me what's goin on." AppleJack said. "Come on then an ya can get some nice warm coffee, a know ya love coffee dont ya twa." Twilight rose to her hoof's and sniffled.

"O-okay then." She said, wiping away some of her tears. she used her magic to pick up the still dazed Rainbow and sat her on top of one of the book cases until she was ready to let her friend's know what she had done.
