Final hours

Children.

Some say annoying others use them as tools but most call them a new generation.

We walked from the helicopter my attention was set on the journal. I open it up and looked to who it belong to.

'Krystal limestone.'

"What an odd name." I said aloud as we walked

"What odd name." Twilight asked

"Oh it's this journal I found I looked to see who it belong to. It has different dates all the way from 2021 to 2029. And from the writing it looked like she was 10." I said

The book was leather and a little worn out I flipped to the first page and began to read aloud.

7/24/2021 JOURNAL

Well it's seems like mommy wanted to get out of the city soon because we woke up early mommy told me to keep my ears cover and put a blindfold on me. So I could go back to sleep. But I woke up in a cool looking place full of other people they seemed nice others were big meanies.

A man in a green suit told me to follow him he gave me a lollipop and gave me a shot I don't what it was but he said that the shot was to keep me from getting sick. I thought that was just normal other people were doing it too. A lot of those men told me not to go into a building called lab mommy always tells me to stay indoors so I couldn't really make any friends. But I feel safe.

Back to Robert

"Wow a little girl had to go through that." Ruby said

"Yeah. It seems like it." I said as I put away the journal

"Stop." I said

"What is it." Applejack asked

"I need to change the bandages." Applejack then passed me the duffle bag I took out the medical supplies. I proceed to take my shirt off and the bloodied bandages it was mostly healed though some scratches still bled I opened the gauze and wrapped it around my chest. As I did I applied too much pressure and grunted in pain.

"Are you okay? Here let me help." Pinkie then proceed to wrap the gauze around my chest. She had a delicate touch not her usual fast reloading hands but gentle and caring. I swallowed some painkillers to get rid of the pain it worked.

"So what did you use to do before all this happened?" Twilight asked

"Well I was in college when the war started I mean it wasn't that big just soldiers overseas fighting and when the bombs hit that's when everything changed; I was studying to become a doctor I had a test that day until an annocement came on the T.V. I remember that day I was taking care of my sister she was watching T.V. they said to leave and go to the closest city."

"Who taught to shoot and fight with a knife?" AJ asked

"My dad he was in the marines. He always told me that eventually I'll need these skills I thought he was full of crap but he was right."

"What about your mom?" AJ asked

"She was a fashion designer in New York. Hehe ya know I never knew opposites attract."

"Really how was your mother?" Rarity asked

"Well she was neat and tidy and my dad was a bit dirty."

"My dad always wanted me to be in the marines and my mom wanted me to be doctor. I ended up studying to be a doctor but my dad taught me some moves to compensate that I didn't go to the marines."

"So what are the marines are they some kind of army?" Twilight asked

"Ya know you girls ask a lot of question lets just get to the library you'll get your answers there." As we walked we past the suburbs that me and Ruby passed I noticed the lack of walkers or crawlers.

"It's quiet too quiet." I commented

"Where do you think the walkers went." Ruby asked

"I don't know let's split up ruby you go with Pinkie,Twilight,and Rarity."

"Fluttershy,Rainbow,and AJ you're with me." They all nodded in agreement

THRID PERSON POV

"So what exactly are we looking for." Twilight asked

"We are going to scavenge some supplies anything helps Clothes,Water,Ammo,or MRE's." Ruby said

"MRE's?" Pinkie asked

"Oh sorry meal ready to eat." Ruby said

They entered a rather large house two stories.

"Twilight you're coming with me Pinkie go with rarity."

Ruby and Twilight ascended the stairs and once out of earshot Rarity began to talk.

"Ugh this dreadful weather is making me sweat not to mention I haven't bathed."

"Well of course silly willy we can't shower unless we check the bathroom." Pinkie stated

"Of course why haven't I thought of that let's go check." Rarity quickly grabbed pinkie arms and took her to the bathroom.

As they enter they saw no stains what so ever they check the medical cabinet.

"I got pills here!" Pinkie said giggling

"What are you giggling about Pinkie?" Rarity asked

"Oh nothing just something I thought about." Pinkie said stifling giggles

Rarity turned the knob of the shower and surprisingly the water worked the heat of the hot water went on to rarity hands.

"Oh that feels amazing we should tell the girls about this. I'm sure they would like to have a shower." Rarity then began to disrobe.

"Oh can I join?" Pinkie asked

"Of course come in." Pinkie enter fully nude with rarity both of them shared a shower together.

MEANWHILE

"So did ya find anything." Ruby asked Twilight

"Hmm not really I found some dresses that's about it. Oh and these things." She brought up some wrappers with small latex looking item inside.

Ruby then started laughing her ass off.

"Ahahahaha you do know that those are condoms right." Ruby said as Twilight blushed furiously.

"Okay we should check on Pinks and Rares." Ruby said to Twilight

They went downstairs to hear the sounding of water coming from one of the bathrooms. Ruby tried to open it but it was locked.

"Hehe rarity that tickles." Pinkie said

"Hold still Pinkie we don't want you to make yourself a mess now do we. Now you do me." Rarity said in the shower.

"Woah hey Twi are Pinkie and Rarity ya know." Ruby asked Twilight

Twilight went wide eye as she heard the question.

"Oh no they aren't maybe we are miss hearing."

"Oh that feels nice Pinkie." Rarity said

"I knew you'd like it." Pinkie commented

POV of Robert

After splitting up we made our way to a small house it seemed like a normal house you'd see in a suburbia.

I started thinking about where exactly where we would find an observatory there's none around Boston and the only one I know of is at California and that's a three months trip walking but if I find a car then it would be a two day trip.

"Hey are ya there." Rainbow asked

"Hmm oh sorry what were you saying."

"I said that the door is locked how are we getting in." Rainbow asked

"Hold on I have an idea." I began to take my shirt off and wrap it around my balled fist I looked back to see Rainbow,AJ,and Fluttershy looking at me with their mouths agape. I shrugged it off as I punched the window shards of glass broke off and landed on the floor.

"Enjoying the show." I commented

"Huh what'd ya say." AJ said I just chuckled and went inside I opened the door and led them in. There was some salvageable stuff.

I spotted a cabinet in looked lock up pretty tight.

"Hey AJ let me borrow your shotty." I asked

"Okay here." She tossed me the shot gun I looked at the cabinet and broke open the lock.

I looked inside I couldn't believe my eyes there was liquor vodka,whiskey,and some kind of wine.

"Looks like we hit the jackpot."

"What do you mean." Fluttershy asked

I brought out the booze they looked at me with confused looks.

"What you found juice." Rainbow said

"No it liquor alcohol." I said

"Do you even have liquor where your from." I asked

"Of course we do but just cider I never heard of whiskey." AJ said

"Oh your gonna enjoy this." I open the whiskey and oddly enough there was already shot glasses I poured one in each.

They picked up their glasses and swallowed it had a bitter after taste but it was good.

Their reactions were different from what I expected I thought they would be coughing and spitting it out but they handled well.

"So good?" I asked

"Hmm not sweet but good enough." Fluttershy said I then put the top back on the bottle and placed the rest of the liquor in the duffle bag.

"Fluttershy you come with me. AJ and Rainbow search that room." I pointed towards the back rooms. They nodded in agreement but it seems Fluttershy was well you guessed it shy with me and I mean to the point that she would avoid eye contact maybe she thought of me as some kind of monster since well I ate meat. I know she feels like she's in danger around me I want to reassure her that I'm not dangerous.

I'd liked to think of us as friends I needed her trust and I already have Pinkie's,AJ's,and Rainbow's trust but I haven't gotten Twilight's,Rarity's,or her trust yet.

"So Fluttershy how are you feeling." I asked trying to make small talk.

"I'm okay thank you for asking." She responded

"Um so what do you do in equestria?"

"Um well I uh help all kinds of animals."

"All kinds even wolves."

"Yes I help everyone of them even if they are big they are also nice."

"Hehe you must be brave for taking care of those large animals." I looked at her she seemed to blush at my statement. I looked at her again she was looking at a snow globe shaking it and looking at the fake snow fall.

"Hey Robert come over here we found something." Rainbow yelled

I walked over to the room with Fluttershy behind me.

"What is it Rainbow?" I looked at Rainbow holding four boxes of ammo for my .44 revolver.

"Holy crap you found a lot of ammo." I stated

"I also found this." I looked up to see her hold a Uzi with some more ammo for that.

"Could I keep it. It seems lightweight and capable for me." Rainbow asked

"Sure keep it you gonna need that gun. Just a word of advice don't point it at anybody."

"So anything else." I asked

"Nope nothing haven't found a thing." AJ said looking in the closet.

"All right let's go to the backyard there might be something there." We walked outside to see a small shed I opened the door to shed and found a machete.

"Holy crap a fucking machete." I stated

"Jeez calm down Rob. It's just a knife." Rainbow stated

"Yeah sorry for my spazzing out. Just look at it it's fucking sharp." I put away the knife and walked down the street to Ruby.

I opened it and yelled "Ruby Ruby you here."

"Oh hey Robert." Pinkie said giving me a hug. I got a whiff of her mane and it smelled nice and I mean like she just showered.

"Hey Pinkie did you take a shower or something." I asked

"Oh yeah me and Rarity did we shared a shower." Pinkie said. 'Oh come on I missed that it would have been good if I saw.' I thought to myself.

"Alright you need to take a shower stinky." Pinkie said poking my chest.

After taking a shower (I would like to mention that I haven't showered in two weeks) I walked downstairs to see the girls talking amongst themselves.

I grabbed the journal and began to read.

8/23/2021 JOURNAL

It's been a good life here so far I'm now 11 years old today and I made some friends they had really interesting lives. We still had to go to school since they didn't want us kids to lose our education today they did an emergency drill they told us to hide and grab a fake gun.

When we did they said that they'll try to find us and if we get found out we shoot the gun. I was found but I shot the man in the head with a rubber bullet; he shouted in pain I quickly ran and hid again. I soon as I was cornered. All the men had there weapons ready that's when I shot a red barrel that was lying there and to my surprise it was gasoline I manage to get out but I had a nightmare of those men shouting in pain while the fire engulfed their bodies.

8/24/2021

I got in trouble because of my mistake they told me to report to an office on the west side of the settlement. When I walked in a man told me to follow him so I did when I walked into a large office a woman told me congratulations you passed the test we setup you use your keen eye to find a way out. She told me that I would be accepted into the settlements junior army and when I reach sixteen I would fight outside the settlement all in all it was a good day.

Back to Robert

I started thinking why would they teach kids to shoot. I mean I taught Ruby to shoot when she was Ten but that was for survival. They were just making an army I hadn't realized but it was already nine P.M. and the girls were trying to get my attention.

"ROBERT!!" Ruby yelled

"Huh what?"

"Are you okay I've been trying to get your attention for the past five minutes."

"Yeah I'm just thinking about stuff is all. So what do you need." I asked

"Okay then I was wondering if we were going to sleep here since its already dangerous to go outside." Ruby asked

"Yeah. Block the doors so nothing gets in alright." I said closing the journal

I need to find a way to get to the library and fast we need to get to California and find that damn observatory.
