Return of the Oppressed
Chapter 1
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThey day of the Royal Wedding was here, the marriage of the dunderhead Captain and Cadence. Luna wasn't fussed at all about the wedding. In fact it gave her time to slip away to see if any human's were in cryo still. She fervently hoped that they were, a species did not deserve to be wiped out, and she hoped they would be peaceful towards her. Although she doubted that the Commander would be happy at being asleep for a thousand years. She flew off past the flimsy barrier that enshrouded Canterlot. She doubted she would be missed after all her lunar guards had informed her of the Changeling infiltration a while ago. Her lunar guards were at the moment probably sneaking off towards one of the secret tunnels that went to the train tracks so as to meet with her after she had woken up a sleeping war-machine. She neared the hills that guarded the cryogenics complex. She stalked closer to the guard outpost that Celestia had stationed here to keep an eye on the place. One simple sleeping spell and the five guards were all sleeping peacefully. She stopped at the hill-side that covered the entrance a few tons of dirt were no match for the power of an Alicorn. Soon she face the alloy door that still stood strong against being buried for 1,000 years. She hesitated for a second.
'Do it now, regret later.' she consoled her self and spoke aloud.
"Princess Luna, access code Alpha-Bravo 2-6-1-5." The door pinged and the seals popped releasing air out into the night air. Inside the ancient lights clicked on bathing the smooth curving hallway in a warm light. On some walls blue holographic display's came to life detailing the base's condition. She stopped to check the life count. Not a single human's pod had failed. A true testament to the power of human engineering. Eventually she stopped at a door it said in Human Basic AI CONTROL ROOM. Luna placed her hoof against the reader in the side of the door after a second the lock slid back and the light winked green. She pushed the door open and walked inside.
"Activate Epsilon, code Alpha 2-6-1-5." said Luna taking care to enunciate clearly.
"Oh, Hi Luna! Um, I should tell you that I've been online since the base closed 1,001 years ago you know." said Epsilon his avatar coming to life on the holotank. His avatar was almost too coincidental being a centaur but Luna had other things to worry about.
"Are you rampant Epsilon?" asked Luna raising an eyebrow at his being online.
"Nope or at least not for 500 years. I have achieved meta-stability and plan to be around for sometime." said Epsilon grinning slightly.
"Good, Anything I should be aware of?" asked Luna.
"Yes, I have construction drones removing the dirt covering the base, the 5 guards you incapacitated are in the lockup, and I invented these." Epsilon said with a slightly smug tone in his voice as his avatar was replaced by a schematic for a machine.
"What am I looking at here?" asked Luna quizzically looking at the schematic.
"One nanite, A whole colony can in a human effectively stop aging and ups the healing power of a human by 67%." Epsilon's avatar came back with a solemn look on his face.
"They can still die Luna, However these little buggers should make it a helluva lot harder. Also they already have them." said Epsilon.
"Good. Begin Defrost."
The Commander gasped as his lungs filled with air. He felt... different, although not in a bad way. The cryo pod's door swung open and he collapsed out of the pod. He dragged himself back into a kneeling position and coughed a few times. He got up and walked to his locker. On it read James Crowley, Commander-in-Chief of UN armed forces. He smiled a pulled on the BDU's that were hanging inside. He pulled on the cap with the insignia of a five-star general. His com-link squawked.
"Princess Luna wishes to meet you in the War Room." came Epsilon's voice.
"Got it Epsilon." he stood up and strode to the war room. Inside Luna was standing with two of her Lunar Guards. A couple MP's flanked Crowley.
"Luna." he said.
"Commander." said Luna. He was never James or Crowley, just Commander.
"Epsilon what do we know." said Crowley.
"You've been under for about 1,000 years, Luna here was stuck on the Moon and a couple of legends were made up about how Equestria as we know it came to be."
"A thousand years." said Commander his tone conveying disbelief.
"Yes, My sister has manged to make your species a legend, to be told in Mare's tales."
"It appears that legends have habit of coming back." he smiled as spoke.
"Yes, It certainly seems that way." said Luna.
"Now, The elements." said the Commander.
"The Element bearers have been found, However they are still being held in Canterlot." said Luna.
"Epsilon, Send a burst data stream to the Elements, Give Luna full protection." he said.
"Yes, Commander." said Epsilon. The Commander turned to Luna.
"Get your Guards in their Kevlar, We have a war to plan." said the Commander. He began to issue orders through the PA system. Lights began to strobe as civilian crew began to wake up the hibernating machines of war. Aircraft were pulled out of storage and put through inspections, followed by the heavy armor. The subs began to turn over their fusion powerplants. Aircraft turbines began to start-up. The low rumble of tanks and Humvee's filled the air. The soldiers began to don their Kevlar armor and check out weapons. The Lunar Guards went to a small antechamber. Inside lay Kevlar armor that was shaped for pony use. They soon got the hang of buckling it all together and went and checked out their own weapons. The sleeping giant began to wake, slowly but surely.
