The Commander stood on the bridge of Humanity's first space warship, funnily enough it was a warship that wasn't fighting humans. It had a bit larger of a target it named Celestia. On the tactical map he watched a company of Marines moving towards one of Equestria's biggest military cities, Stalliongrad. He snorted at the pony version of Stalingrad, if only the ponies knew who the original city was named for. Every so often he would flick through a folder titled, Disney World 2025. He smiled as he touched the faces frozen in the photograph. His mother, father, and sister as well as him stood next to the ancient Tomorrow World. He closed the window and stood up. The Commander tapped a few buttons on the screen and then spoke.
"The order is given. Commence attack." said Commander James Crowley reigniting a thousand-year old conflict.

Corporal Dwayne Hicks checked his M16A4 for the fifth time and his M9. Soon a voice filtered through from his commanding officer.
"Men, here's where we show those hoof-up their ass, horn-head, sons of bitches that they could not have picked a worse enemy than the human race. We are going to blow the hell out of those dumb ponies until we don't have anything left to shoot 'em with! And then, we are going to strangle them with their own living guts! Am I right, Marines?" ordered Sgt. Johnson.
"SIR YES SIR." said The Marines.
"Alright then hit it, Marines—go, go, go! The Corps ain't payin' us by the hour!" and with that the marines trekked the kilometer to Stalliongrad.
The squad sniper and her spotter settled down on a rise aiming their Barrett .50 Caliber rifle at the gate.
"Contacts 2 and 3 o' clock above the gate." said her spotter.
"Got 'em, firing." said the sniper holding her breath she panned between the two and squeezed the trigger, she pulled back the bolt and fired again. The muzzle brake stopping the flash.
Stalliongrad Gates
"I'm telling you the Princess has a thing for white pegasi." said Private Hammer.
"And I'm telling you to keep watch. There's a reason the Princess beefed up security." said Corporal Stark.
"Pfft. Who would be dumb enough to attack the Royal Guard." said Private Hammer. Corporal Stark was about to respond when his head exploded. Hammer stood there stunned and was about to move when his head too exploded. The spectacle brought more guards running. A couple of rapports boomed across the snow. Then five more guards died followed by five more rapports. The commander of the garrison got smart and ordered his stallions to get down. That's when the gate exploded the ponies peered through the dust.
"Who goes there." said the Commander sounding braver than he felt. He the reply was a bullet in the head.
"Get up so I can kill you again!" roared a voice. Then all Tartarus broke loose. Shapes as tall as the Princess ran through the smoke and metal death sleeted through the air. Every so often a loud boom was heard among the constant DAKKA-DAKKA. This accompanied a part of a pony turning to ground meat. The ponies were able to rally and threw their spears.
"Awww look at that, They're throwing spears at us." said Com-tech Hudson as a spear bounced off his armor landing with the tip broken.
"Shut up Hudson." Said Hicks as he fired his M16.
"Unicorn! 3 o' clock!" came a shout. Private Drake spun and fired once with his shotgun effectively removing the unicorn's horn along with most of its head.
"Aww, Man, that's nasty as it was a thousand years ago." said Hicks as he got splattered with a bit of gray matter and blood. The marines pushed forward their sniper ascending the gate and began to fire on targets of opportunity. It helped that the solar guard wore gold and higher ranks wore more purple as the ranks progressed. Captains had all purple armor, then so on to a red. She noticed a red armored figure leading a rally. She spoke into her boom mike.
"Firing on red bastard." said Corporal Corly. The boom of her Barrett punctuating her sentence as the Red-Hoof fell in a pool of his head. The Royal Guard had holed up in the Headquarters. The humans were content to sit outside and plan an attack.
"Sir, A pony is requesting an audience. Says her last name is Heartstrings." said Corly to Sargent Johnson.
"A Heartstrings eh? Wonder if they still remember us." said Johnson as he stood up and walked over to the pony. She was a mint green unicorn with a lyre cutie-mark and a two-tone hair color of green and white.
"Corporal Lyra Heartstrings reporting for duty sir!" she said with a crisp salute.
"I'm gonna need more than that soldier." said Johnson. He turned and got on the line with Princess Luna.
"Ma'am I have a pony here, Name's Lyra Heartstrings." said Johnson.
"Ah, yes. I had her spy on the garrison in Ponyville before moving her to Stalliongrad." said Luna.
"Thank-you Ma'am." said Johnson terminating the link. He turned back to Lyra.
"Good to see you, then Corporal." said Johnson. "I need information on that HQ."
"Will these help?" she said producing a blueprint.
"Yes," said Johnson. "Join us at the table." He motioned for her to follow. At the table Sgt. Johnson laid out the blueprint on a table.
"So what's the weakest point?" asked Johnson.
"Here." said Lyra circling the roof of the building. "It's magically charged to stop Pegasus from landing but other than that it's not very strong.
"Sir, If I may the Forward Unto Reclamation is almost in prime position.
"Well I do like my men and I do like a big boom so lets move out." said Johnson.
"Relaying co-ordinates now." Hudson operating the target computer.
"Sir! We are receiving target data for a tactical strike." said the communication officer.
"Really, Weapons, load a tactical round in the MAC." said the Commander.
"Loaded. Charge at 100% per your orders to hold it at 90%." said the Weapons officer.
"Epsilon would you be so kind as to get a firing solution?" asked the Commander.
"Calculated."
"Fire." said the Commander. The lights dimmed a little and a loud boom was heard. A streak of light came out of the front of the Reclamation it entered the atmosphere and kept going. The Royal Guard had noticed absent humans and were cheering when aloud boom made them look up. The human marines plus Lyra watched a loud boom occurred and a marine sent out a portable spy drone. The screen plugged into the unit and displayed a brand new crater where the Royal Guard Command Center and Head Quarters used to exist. The surrounding buildings had only partially been damaged. Hence the word tactical in tactical round. Ponies were staggering around dealing with the loss of hearing while others stared at the sky then back to the crater and then back to the sky and then back to the crater. Repeat a few times and you get the idea. No one noticed the black oblong shape lift off from the surrounding area and fly in the direction of the Everfree.
