Dari is new in town, with a big secret.
He trusts and befriends the first pony he meets.
But as an interesting change of events develops, how long can he keep his secret from everypony in Ponyville?

Dari’s walking through Ponyville, he’s new, hasn’t seen his way around.
He’s a little anxious, tugging at his light purple jacket which hides his cutie mark and his sides.
There’s an odd thickness about it, it doesn’t fit quite well.
He is walking a little oddly, trotting forward then pausing, taking a look at his surroundings.

A first glance at him and you’d just see a pony. And just a pony it seems.

His coat was dark, almost black with light patches around his hooves.
He had a more sombre mane and tail, cut short and styled.
His horn was strangely long for a unicorn.

He was a stallion, and his muscles showed it, not to mention his… stallionhood… which showed itself behind his forelegs, peeking its dark violet tip just within view.
He was a lucky stallion at least.
His stallionhood was very thick, and long, for a colt of his age.
It refused to keep itself out of view, but nopony was around so that wasn’t a bother.
The stallion had a quite distinctive view about him, that didn’t seem right.
He was 17, not a colt really, nor a full-grown stallion either, but he was surely on his way.
The oblivious stallion just kept trotting through the town.
It was early morning and Luna’s stars where still visible, and Celestia’s sun was just at the horizon.

He knew the names of each and every constellation, from hours and hours of staying up till morning to watch the sky.
He loved the nightsky.
The way it sparkled, his mane sparkled at night, he knew why.
Dari had a link with the night, he barely came out during the day.
He liked the fact he could see the stars illuminate the world around him.
Not everypony saw things the same as him.
He was by no means normal.
His coat even changed colour.
At night it was much darker, and it sparkled beautifully in the morning light as the sun begins to rise.
It was almost purple, but it wasn’t quite yet.
His eyes were a pink hue, like the brightest rose on Heart’s Warming.

He was hoping he could get this done and go home soon.
If somepony saw his coat change and asked...
Well, let’s not go there.

He looked frantically, a dark vein striking out of his neck.

His eyes had bags beneath them, since he hasn’t slept for Faust-knows long.

His mane wasn’t combed, and it wasn’t neat at all.
He looked a mess.

Dari trotted past a small square, and a seemingly new store was there.
He could tell it was new, there was not much in there but a counter which was empty, only having some trays on it.
It had a rotisserie-like cabinet with a spinning motor on it.
There was a door, almost open but only a little, with some red light escaping.

He paused and looked into the window closer.
[color= pink] A light. He thought to himself.
[color= pink] There could be somepony in there that knows where I can get some food!
His belly grumbled.
[color= purple] “Hello?” He beckoned, opening the door with his hoof.
[color= purple]“Is… anypony here?” He tapped at the door and a bell rung.
[color= pink] Great… No answer…
He turns, ready to leave.
[color= red] “Wait!”
A large red stallion trotted from the door at the back of the room.
He was well built, muscular, and strong.
His hooves had no fur, and his cutie mark was the inside of a green apple.
[color= red]“How can ah be o’service?” [color= orange] Hmmm… a new stallion in town…
The red stallion blushed. [color= orange] Why hello to you too!
He thought, catching sight of something darker.
[color= purple] “Oh uh my… ah yes… I’m new round these parts, and I am starving hungry. D-do you know any place I can go to eat?”
[color= pink] Oh dear, I sound a wreck! Please don’t hate me!
He recoiled slightly, holding his fore-legs to his face, balancing on his hind legs.
[color= pink] Oh I’m going to have to run aren’t I? Oh no. Oh no. He hasn’t said anything. I’m rambling aren’t I? Oh I should shut up. Yes. Yes I’ll shut up.
The red stallion chuckled, hiding a blush.
[color= orange] And I thought I was big! [color= red] “Eeyup!” He said, trotting slowly off to the cabinet.
[color= pink] Wait, what’s that mean?! Is it his name? Or does it mean yes? I really need to spend more time with these country ponies! He does know? Oh yeah, there’s food here! Silly Dari! Dari stop talking. Really. Seriously shut up. Get out of your head!
[color= purple] “Um… how much?” He said, in an attempt to do so bringing his forelegs down, but…
[color= red] “Oh Well-Well.” [color= orange] That was unexpected.
The stallion was now turned directly facing him.
A poker-face berempt of any expression but raised eyebrows and a slightly agape muzzle on his face.
Dari’s jacket had fallen down.

He was standing with his jacket, fallen on the floor, and large, purple wings outfolded…
[color= pink] Oh Faust! I’m bucked!
[color= purple]“Please don’t tell anypony!”
He plead, flying towards this dumbfounded stallion.
This was the exact worst moment to do so.

Celestia raised the sun just behind him, the light sparkling through his feathers and metal armoury along his wingbone.
His mane changed too.
Just at that moment.
He was frantic, almost in tears, and when he cries his horn sparks.

His deep pink eyes were dripping blue.
His mane sparkled dark to pink.
His feathers shimmered.
His armoury shined brightly.
His horn was overrun with rings of purple magic sent flying.

If he was trying to make as little fuss as possible he couldn't have done a worse job.
He'd basically jumped on the stallion.
[color= purple] "I beg of you please don't tell anypony!" He was crying, despite the display.
[color= pink] Wow, he's quite cute close up. He blushed.
[color= red] "Uhm... couldya get off ma?" [color= orange] Or stay...
[color= purple] "Oh my sorry, uh yeah." He blushed, flying up.
His wings where very large, no wonder they were bursting from his jacket.
The pony's eyes were fixed onto the purple alicorn. After what he'd seen he was so confused.
[color= orange] Well... this is not what I expected from today at all.
[color= pink] Oh wow that is a stallion! He lands a few paces back, and shakes his head side to side.
[color= pink] Seriously, stop this charade, there's no point falling for another pony.
Snap yourself out of it!
[color= orange] What's wrong with him? I'll ask
[color= red] "Are ya alright there partnah?" He trotted forward and stood by the stallion.
[color= pink] "Oh no oh no he's talking what do I do!?"
[color= purple] "Huh what? Oh uhm, uhm n-n-nothing. Just d-don't tell n-nopony!"
He was stammering and sweating. [color= purple] "Please! I...it's complicated! Stop by the forest later and you'll see a house, that's mine. I'll pay you too, I have to go before another pony sees. Please!"
And with that he swiftly flew out the door, leaving the red stallion dumbfounded.

Yeah, so this is my first story. First chapter, there will be more.
Please give me insights or comments or messages on your opinion and how I could improve if you don’t mind.
But I would be very thankful if you could.
Please not too much hate.
If not then that’s fine too, just I hope you enjoy it.
I’ve been writing this fic for about a week now.
It was originally an RP that I made into a story, and I assure you it is not just a one-off chapter-fluke.

The red stallion was leaving his house now, he told his sister Applejack he wont be home for a while so she had to deal with their sister Apple Bloom herself..
[color= yellow] Okay then Mac, ah'll miss ya brother, ah'll see you tomorrow then, who's the lucky mare? She snickered, but asking nonetheless.
It took little to confuse this stallion, for he was dumbfounded once again.
[color= red] "Wha...?" [color= orange] Ohh my... she thinks I'm going to see somepony for...
The strangely orange mare chuckled to herself.
[color= yellow] "Big Macintosh, it's half seven, ah think ah know when my big brother's going to see somepony."
[color= red] "Applejack, it aint like that." [color= orange] Or is it...?
He thought to himself. He knew he thought the stallion was attractive, but an Alicorn!!
He needed to know more.
[color= red] "Uhm Applejack ahm gonna need to go now if that's okay."
And with that he galloped off, for a large stallion, he could go fast.

Mac, as we knew him, was just walking into the Everfree Forest as he heard a shout from behind him.
[color= cornflowerblue] "Mac! Mac!" He heard, turning to see a young mare named Twilight Sparkle.
[color= cornflowerblue] "Mac, are you going in the Everfree Forest?" She said, tilting her head to the side.
[color= red] "Eeyup." He smiled, stamping a hoof to the floor.
[color= cornflowerblue] "Mac, that really isn't a good idea!"
[color= red] "Eenope." He looked forward.
[color= cornflowerblue] "You don't need to confine yourself to two words yknow."
[color= red] "Twi I do need to get going." [color= orange] I reaally need to go if I'm going to speak to ... that pony. I really.should ask him his name..."
[color= cornflowerblue] "Are you sure you'll be safe, won't get lost?"
He sighed heavily, head dropping down.
[color= red] "Look, Twilight, I broke up with you a long time ago, I said I was sorry for wasting your time."
He sighed again, looking away.
[color= red] "But that doesn't mean I need you to baby me like this, I can do this myself."
She sat, crying silently. She felt for Mac a great deal, and it hurt him just as much to put her through this.
[color= orange] I'm sorry Twilight... I like colts... I wish I could be strong enough to just say it.
Her eyes were wide, and sniffling badly,
[color= cornflowerblue] "If. If, If you d-didn't want m-me around you c-could've t-told me nicely!" And she teleported away crying.

He cried a single tear, and stamped the ground again, sometimes he wished he could fly off someplace, or just for fun.
But It was something that he wished for, he didn't like being just an earth pony.
It was always considered the lowest class, then being Pegasi, Unicorns and the Alicorn Princesses.
Everypony knew the order, and didn't reject it.
It was, just the way things were in Equestria.
And nopony could change it.
He wiped his tear and looked into the Everfree Forest. [color= orange] Why would an Alicorn Prince, well I assume he's a Prince. Either way why would he live here!?

He just walked now, skeptically into the Forest.
It's around dusk, but in the Forest it feels like Midnight, cool breezes freezing him to the bone...
Sounds in the wind echoing and making him recoil...

[color= olive] WhAt ArE yOu DoInG iN mY fOrEsT?

He froze, the voice shrieked at him from the wind, giving no bearing of it's creators location.
He shook lightly, his collar almost feeling tighter, sweat dripping down his forehead.
[color= red] "Who said that!?" He looked around him frantically but saw nothing.
[color= red] "Who are you!?" He he kept turning, not moving his place as his legs wouldn't let him.

[color= olive] I sAiD wHaT aRe YoU dOiNg In My FoReSt!?

The voice shrieked again, this time behind him.
He froze.
[color= red] "Somepony told me to come here to see them. I just got lost."
He refused to turn.
He knew who it was now.
[color= red] "If... if y-you help me I can g-give you food, I w-work on a farm with a-apples, d-d-do you like apples?!
He realized he was bargaining with his life.
This wasn't just anypony.

[color= olive] YoU kNoW wHo I aM dOn'T yOu?
[color= olive] I hAvE kIlLeD a MiLlIoN pOnIeS bEfOrE yOu,
[color= olive] DoN't YoU tHiNk ThEy'Ve TrIeD tO bArGaIn WiTh Me?!
[color= olive] ApPlEs!? YoU oFfEr Me ApPlEs!?
[color= olive] YoU vAlUe YoUr LiFe At SoMe ApPles?!

He shivered. [color= red] "Ah... ah... all ah know is apples, I could give you bits! Please."

[color= olive] gEt OuT oF mY fOrEsT!! OuT! bEfOrE i KiLl YoU!

He shrieked right in the ear of him, he knew not to turn around.
[color= red] "Please, I just need to speak to somepony! I have to find them!"
He was shaking, but his eyes were fixed in front of him.
He knew not to turn around in the presence of Slenderpony.

[color= olive] HeEd My WaRnInG!! OnLy A fEw PoNiEs CaN lIvE iN mY fOrEsT!
[color= olive] ZeCoRa, DaRi, AnD i HaVe BeEn ThE oNlY oNeS!

Mac's ears perked up, and his forehooves stamped down.
[color= red] "That must be him! The purple Alicorn! Where? I have to find him!
He still didn't turn, he was smarter than that.
[color= red] "I know you won't kill me unless I turn around, and I won't, but please help me."

The pony moved, he could no longer feel a cool breeze against his neck.
[color= olive] As YoU wIsH. yOu'Ve BeEn ThE fIrSt PoNy In A tHoUsAnD yEaRs To AsK mE sOmEtHiNg ReAsOnAbLe.

Mac was very surprised.
[color= red] "R-R-Really?"

[color= olive] HiS hOuSe Is TwO hUnDrEd PaCeS aHeAd. I wOn'T kIlL yOu YeT YoU'vE iMpReSsEd Me PoNy.
He cackled, but somehow screaming too.

[color= red] "M-M-Mac.B-Big Macintosh."
He still didn't turn to face him.

[color= olive] I'vE bEeN hErE aLmOsT tEn MiNuTeS aNd YoU sTiLl HaVeN't FaCeD mE.
The breeze went. Gone. As did he.

Big Mac caught a breath. [color= orange] That was close.
He began trotting, and counting paces. [color= red] "1...2...3..."

[color= red] "198... 199...200!"
Mac saw a house, it had milk-white bricks, a full garden filled with enough flowers to make Rise Thumb jealous, there was an arch above the gate.
There were bunnies and squirrels in the garden, and even Fluttershy would kill for this garden.
The house was indented into the shrubbery, and it blended in well.
Up on the roof there was a huge telescope, and it would be the envy of Twilight.
And there were apple trees, plum trees, pear trees, lots of trees in two lines on one side, with a large willow, grown into the side.

With this house it's no surprise he's not been to Ponyville.
It was a beautiful house, and he looked around it, he trotted to the door and knocked.
This time when the wind hit him it had a gentle breeze, warm, and comforting.
It was a huge surprise that this was in the Everfree Forest.
[color= orange] Wow... but where is he?
He stepped back slowly, the hard cobble-path sliding against his hooves.
[color= red] I am way over my head here. I better go...

I will do my best to only do a chapter a day, cause I almost did two yesterday. I'll have another tomorrow, if you have any idea, then comment, and I might incorporate it.

There he was. Mac, standing at the mysterious stallions door, he'd just knocked.
And a million theories rushed through his head.
[color= orange] What am I gonna do? What if he sees me but doesn't recognize me? What if he does but he just blanks me? What if he kisses me?!
He fell backwards. [color= orange] WHAT IF HE KISSES ME!?!? I mean... I know it was normal, but what if Applejack was right? I mean... he's a cute colt, and well... I saw the way he looked at me. What if that's the real reason he invited me over...

He checked his fur, fluffing through it. [color= red] "How's my coat? My fur? WAIT. Am I..."
He looked down and blushes. [color= red] "Phew..."

He heard hoofsteps and shot up so fast he tripped on his own feet. [color= red] "Owww... my muzzle..."
A shadow fell over him and he squinted, muzzle crinkling. [color= red] "Uh oh..."

[color= purple] "Oh dear, look at your leg! I'll help you in and sort that out."
His horn shone brightly, and a bubble formed underneath Mac, lifting him up and floating him in.
Dari giggled to himself. [color= pink] I was hoping he'd get here soon.

Mac was laying on Dari's couch, it was a creamy-cyan colour.
His whole living room was surprisingly mild.
For a prince, he had some very strange tastes.
The room was mostly blues, with dark midnight walls, and two couches, one was cyan, and another more pastel.
He had a few lights around the room.
The hallway was very much the same and Mac thought it safe to presume as was the rest of his house.
Dari leaned over and dabbed a wet tea-towel on Mac's forehead.

[color= purple] "How's your head feel? Does it feel ok?"
Dari was very much genuinely concerned.
[color= red] "Eeyup."
He didn't have the confidence he usually had when saying that word, he looked as though he was trying to retreat into the back of the sofa.
Dari smiled lightly, a small comforting smile, and he stroked his foreleg with his hoof.
[color= purple] "I'll get you something to drink, I'll be right back."
Mac's eyes followed Dari as he walked.
[color= orange] Dat plot!
Mac blushed, knowing what he'd thought.
Dari turned, giggled and smiled.
[color= purple] "Were you looking at my plot?"
He giggled, seeing Mac's blush, he then shook his rump and trotted through the door.

Mac just laid there on the couch, he was under a blanket that Dari had given him.
He was acting strange by his standards, but he didn't mind. Dari just kept a small, sweet smile, the tips of his smile perked upwards.
Something about that smile made Mac feel a glow, and it the glow made him smile back.

Dari walked back in quickly, carrying a large glass of apple juice.
Mac sat up.
[color= red] "Thank ya kindly."
He said, smiling and taking the glass.
[color= purple] "No problem, I saw your cutie mark and thought you might want apple juice."
Mac took a gulp and put down the half-drunk glass.
[color= red] "What is yer cutie-mark?"
Dari turned, and let him see, he would've seen before if he hadn't been staring at his plot.
It was a blue five-point star, in a light blue circle, overlapped with a red five-point star in a pink star, which overlaps as purple.

[color= orange] Wow. [color= red] "What's it mean?"
[color= purple] "It means the Protection Magic of the Stars."
He sits down on the end of the sofa, and wipes Mac's forehead again.
Mac looks up, blushing. Their hearts racing.
[color= pink] POOF! Uh oh my wings...
His wings were completely straight out. He wasn't sure what was going on.
Mac shuffled slightly, leaning forward.
[color= orange] What am I doing! A...Am I trying to kiss him? I am?
Dari breathed out deeply, and exhaling. He shuddered.
[color= pink] Wow he smells good. He must've been working hard today, he's all sweaty.
He moaned slightly and quietly.
[color= pink] He smells like apples too... Mmmmm musky apples...
Mac felt something poke him, his eyes popped open. He smiled, winking slightly.
[color= orange] Eeyup... yup. I am. Did he just moan? Did I just wink? Oh my I'm bucked! I... I think I might actually want this to go somewhere, he's awful close...
Mac leans up again, feels Dari's breath against his.

But. Then. Dari bolted out towards the kitchen again.
Mac followed confused. He pressed his hoof against the stained door, opening it and walking through into the kitchen.
[color= red] "Dari?"
His lip quivered.
Dari shot around.
[color= purple] "W-w-Where did you hear that name?!"
Mac walked slowly, clapping against the hardwood floor.
[color= red] "Ah heard it from that Slenderpony pony."
Dari was shaking.
[color= pink] Uh oh...
[color= purple] "I'm... I'm an Alicorn Prince, as I'm sure you've guessed. But...
[color= red] "Eeyup?"
[color= purple] "I have been running my whole life from ponies, and it's because my mother isn't the most liked mare. My mother... is Princess Luna..."

Mac was standing in Dari's kitchen. He was almost pink, a strange thing to happen to a red stallion.
[color= orange] I just tried to kiss the royal son of Princess-bucking-Luna! What am I gonna do? I'm getting sent to the Moon aren't I?
[color= orange] No... no... that wouldn't work this is Luna not Celestia... The Sun? The Stallion in the Sun...
[color= orange] Eeyup sounds about right. What's he gonna do? Is he gonna tell me more? Is he gonna just send me out the door? Uhm... what do I say? I wait. Eeyup I'll wait.

Dari was shaking, he had a glass of what looked like that drink Berry Punch is always drinking, but it's almost clear
instead, with a cherry and lemon wedge in it too.
[color= pink] He's gonna go isn't he. I better explain...
[color= purple] "Yeah... uh well wow. I didn't expect to ever tell somepony about me. Let alone one who's name I don't know..."
[color= red] "Big Macintosh, but ponies call me Mac"
He said, knowing it was fair to answer.
[color= red] "How do you know that Slenderpony?"
He tilted his head, returning to his general pokerface.
Dari's face went white.
[color= pink] Uh oh...
[color= purple] "I better start from the beginning."

[color= purple] "I was born over a thousand and nineteen years ago..."

[color= red] "Y'wait what?!"
Dari sighed, as Mac
[color= purple] "Just let me explain."

[color= purple] "So, as I was saying, I was born over a thousand years ago. At this point, Canterlot was not very safe. There were many wars, and I could tell there was hostility between my mother and aunty Celestia.
[color= purple] As you may know, ~~Mommy. Sorry!~~ LUNA, is not the most liked mare. Nor was she back then.
[color= purple] A few years after I was born ~~my mother~~ LUNA was corrupted by the entity Nightmare Moon. You may've heard of her. Well I was sent away, so I couldn't be corrupted. I got a lot of hate... My first boyfriend was attacked and he blanked me completely after two weeks of abuse... I haven't been near another pony since. He hit me badly... I just can't trust... I'm sorry. "

Dari looked down into his glass, taking a nervous sip, Mac had gone and sat onto one of the chars he has by the fridge.
Dari sighed.
[color= pink] He must think I'm so pathetic, stood here like an idiot telling my life's story...
[color= orange] He must think I'm so stupid, sat here like a dummy nodding along...
Mac looked towards the ground glumly before glancing back up to the desperately lonely stallion peering into his drink like it could take all his troubles away.

[color= purple] "I knew about Nightmare Moon, and how she was raising an army. I never hated my aunt for what she had to do. I know how much it hurt. That's a problem all Alicorns must bear, I can feel all of our emotions. It's what makes us so strong."
[color= purple] "I was playing in the gardens when it happened, I was looking after the flowers and practicing Magic. I tried to move but my hooves turned cold and heavy, they went darker until they were grey. Suddenly a dark light shot up towards my mother's Moon. And the feeling rushed along my forelegs... It was terrible, I tried to fly off but my hooves were firmly stuck in the ground, I looked up to see if I could release myself using Magic but no, it didn't work. I was turning to stone. It was horrible, I didn't have much longer. The cold was rushing up my neck, and as it reached my ear I cried out... My ex was bitten part off. I shed a tear, I hated the world but... it didn't mean I wanted to leave!"

He almost started crying, he stamped his hoof on the ground.
[color= pink] Th... th... this is hard...
Mac gave out a sniffle. Dari wipes his face with his free hoof.
[color= pink] Don't cry. Laughter can't cry. Stop. Stop before I shout at you.
[color= pink Don't cry. Night can't cry. Night is strong. Stop.
He turned, looking down to the glass, now placed onto the counter.
His hair flicked infront of his face.

[color= purple] "I could see and hear everything around me. I could feel my mother cry. I saw Celestia each morning walk down to see me. She did know this would happen. She didn't tell me. I was upset for a day. But I couldn't be angry. I watched day after day, for a thousand years... then one day, I heard some Pegasi speaking of a little purple unicorn who had freed my mother. You may've heard of her... miss Twilight Sparkle?

[color= red] "Eeyup..."
Mac looked again towards the floor distantly.
Dari took this as a sign and asked no further.

[color= purple] "Once I was freed I ran away, I knew it couldn't end well if I stayed in Canterlot. I was told to go into the Canterlot gardens by Celestia that day, I didn't know why until 600 years ago.

Mac walked up to Dari and nuzzled his neck.
[color= red] "It's ok sugar, Ah understand."
[color= purple] "Th-thank you Mac."
Mac pressed his hoof onto the Alicorn's shoulder and Dari turned around.

Dari's eyes locked against his again.
Mac blushed, Dari's eyes were wide, and bright.
There were three tears streaming down his muzzle.
His eyes were bright pink, although they seemed more gray several minutes beforehand.

Mac smiled at him, he stood on his hind-legs and held Dari loosely.
Dari's wings were half out, his horn glowed dimly, suspending his glass ten or so centimeters from the counter.
Their cheeks flushed.
Dari batted his eyelids.
His wings were straightening.
He blushing heavily.
Mac giggled slightly at this.
[color= orange] Oh hay why am I doing this?
Mac stepped closer, pressing their bodies against each other.
Dari leaned forward.
[color= pink] Oh dear what am I doing?
Their lips met lightly.

Dari stepped back, dropping his glass and crashing into the counter.
His cheeks flushed, he blinks slowly.
[color= red] "Ya ok sugar?"
Mac nuzzled Dari's neck, he ruffles the purple fur gently, he shuddered lightly, feeling his affection.
[color= pink] Did... he just call me sugar? Oh my...
[color= orange] Why's he taking so long, does he not like me?
[color= purple] "I've...yknow... never done anything with anypony..."
Dari looked down glumly, but Mac kissed his cheek lightly.
[color= red] "I's ok, Ah've never done nothing much."
He smiled gently, and the nervous purple alicorn raises his gaze towards him.
The large red earth pony leaned in again, kissing him deeper.

Dari blushed.
[color= pink] Oh my is that his tongue? Wow it's thick... Oh that feels good.
He kisses back.
