Humble beginnings

“Whoa what happened?” I woke up in a strange place it was a mish mash of things some things looked like a single guys room like sofa, television, couches the works but there were also throne chairs each looking very expensive yet they looked like they were put there as a joke of some kind, there was also a grand piano

‘Wait a minute is that piano playing itself??? what the hell I think I hit myself or something’ I listened to the song it played it had some order but it was more like someone just sat down and started playing without thinking what kind of song would play.

I keep looking around and I see what looks like a brown liquid floating in midair ‘What the hell is wrong with this place? I think I’ll look out the window and see if I can find a way out or at least kind off know where I’m at’ I thought to myself.
I walk up to a window and opened it but what I saw was starting to freak me the hell out, it looked like The Void in Dishonored there where bits of houses and big rocks floating in what seemed well like an endless void.

“What the…… I swear if I see the Outsider I’m really going to freak out” I thought out loud.
“Hahahahaha and how would you react if you saw me?” said a strangely familiar voice
When I looked behind me I swear I could hear my mind shattering for the being behind the voice was none other than the combination of several animals: the right hand was a paw of a lion, the left was the claw of an eagle, a slender snake like body and the head of a horse all of these summing up to the immortal being named Discord.

I stood there without reacting at the sight before me when Discord said “Wow I thought a simple minded human like you would react a little different after seeing me” in a slightly amused tone. I still stood there without saying anything or moving just staring “What’s the matter cat get your tongue?”

After my brain finished breaking I just fainted and as my feet grew heavy I fell face first on the wooden floor of the ‘house’. “Oh boy looks like this is going a lot harder than I thought” he said while looking upon my body sprawled on the floor. Discord then snapped his claws and made a bucket of ice cold water and as he dunked it on my face he yelled “WIPEOUT!!!!!!!!!” as he laughed to himself.

I immediately woke up again coughing out water that had just been poured on my face “Where am I, and why are you here? Holy crap I’m probably either drugged out of my mind, drugged or as crazy as you are” I said in quick sucession.

“Hahaha well it might just be all three together” said Discord with a jokingly tone “Well I don’t know if you’re drugged or crazy, but I do know that you are still very much alive. Now lay down so I can tell you why I summoned you here” he said as he made two hammocks that weren’t tied to anything appear out of thin air.

“Okay” I said as I lay down on the hammock still trying to convince myself that I wasn’t crazy ‘Wow this hammock is really comfortable’ “so where exactly am I?” Discord already lying on his hammock looked to me and said “we are in my home, but also in my prison” ‘what is that supposed to mean’ “wait a minute did you get turned to stone again?” “well it looks like you’re not as simple minded as I thought, but yes I was again turned into a statue and that is part of the reason of why I brought you here”.

‘Holy crap look at me lying down on a hammock next to Discord himself, the bronies back home aren’t going to believe this one. Oh my God I’m going to see the Mane 6! I can’t wait to see Fluttershy and give her a big….’ “Ahem are you not listening I’m trying to tell you why you are here so stop daydreaming and listen to me” he said with an annoyed look.

“Ok sorry it’s just that I didn’t wake up this morning saying ‘I’m going to see Discord today’”

“ok you are here because you will become the savior of Equestria”

“wait what? I’m just a regular guy how could I save anything?”
“just let me finish, here drink this so I can tell you” he said as he made a glass of chocolate milk appear in my hand. ‘Classic Discord’ I took a sip and instantly recognized it had alcohol in it ‘Its pretty good I think it might be Baileys or something’ “The land of Equestria is not the land you know of anymore. For you see a great evil has taken over the princesses’ kingdom”.

“Who did it King Sombra?” “please” said Discord as he smirked “that unicorn wouldn’t be able to do it even if he wanted to”
“Then what could be so powerful that could do that having 4 princesses and you?” I said with a tone of disbelief after I had finished the very tasty beverage. Discords tone went grim as he said “the king of all dragons he is incredibly strong, but he is also smart.

Eight years ago he successfully made Celestia, Twilight and Cadence turn against me when all of the sudden all the non-ponies in this world turned very aggressive creating chaos without style. I still can’t believe that they thought I would do such a thing” he said with a more pissed off tone.

“So Princess Luna didn’t think you did it?” “No she knows me better than all the other princesses so she sided with me.”
“But then what made everyone so aggressive?” “Ah, yes that overgrown lizard corrupted the Crystal Heart with a unique evil dark diamond the Dark Dragons Eye this diamond is made of primal aggression that affected everything from non sentient things like Timberwolves to sentient beings like Diamond dogs and minotaurs.

“What happened to all the ponies?” I said hoping that the mares and colts I had watched on T.V where still all right “Most of them were put under a protection spell by the four princesses and put into a ‘sleeping state’ and are all currently inside the mountain that Canterlot is on safe from harm” he said a matter of factly.

“And what happened to the princesses?” “Well they are all in the same state that I am, because right after they put the spell on the ponies they turned against me and Luna thinking we turned evil again blah blah blah so we all turned each other into stone”
I face palmed and said “Doing exactly what that dragon wanted and making it very easy to take over”
“Hey don’t blame me blame the rookie princess and the cake eater”

I snickered at the joke ‘I wonder what Cadence was doing I mean she isn’t exactly the strongest of the princesses’ “and that’s where you come in umm.. what’s your name?” “are you sure you wanted to pick me or did you choose at random?”
“Hello!!! Embodiment of chaos here pleased to meet you” he said with a mocking tone ‘oh yeah I guess it makes sense’ I thought as I shrugged “well my name is Zegram” “Zegram?” said Discord with a puzzled look. I sighed “my dad was a gamer he got it from a PS2 game”

“And how come you brought me here eight years after this all happened?” I asked the draconequus. “Well when you are turned into a statue your magic reserves instantly drop and I have been gathering magic all this time.
I am the only one of the five that where turned into statues that can still have influence on the outside world because unlike the other four I am used to being here I sometimes hate it but after a thousand years here you get used to it”
“So now that you know all this you are going to kill the dragon that took over, of course in your human form you wouldn’t really last too long, you are kind off a skinny boy aren’t you?”

“Yeah I guess I was about to call you crazy but then I remembered who I was talking to so I’m not really sure I’ll be able to do it.” ‘I hope he doesn’t get to choose what turn into’. “Okay then in spite of your lack of confidence I’ll take that whine as a yes” said Discord as he got off the hammock and walked to an object that had a sheet covering it.

I also got off my hammock and went to his side and he said “Well Zegram its time to spin the wheel of species” with a playful tone as he pulled the sheet of revealing the big spinning wheel that had a number of small symbols on it each on one of the ten wedges. “The wheel of what?” I asked him not sure if I had heard right.

“The wheel of species my boy the game that decides what kind of being you will be on your quest”. ‘Damn I hate these kind off games I always lose’ “cant I choose what I can be?” I said trying to get out of that bad situation. “Where is the fun in that?” asked Discord.

“Damn all right just give me another chocolate milk” he gave me one and I chugged it down to the last drop. The prize wheel then light up with light bulbs that would flicker on and off I grabbed the side and pulled it down making it spin rapidly ‘I hope I don’t get a mule or a bison or something like that’.

“Let’s see what you get shall we? You better hope it’s something strong because I can’t do the spell twice you know” I gulped in anxiety hoping for the best or at least not the worst thing.
Finally the wheel was slowly starting to stop I could the symbols there was minotaur, pegasus, dragon, diamond dog, unicorn, earth pony, changeling, griffin, mule and bison.

‘Most of them are pretty cool but I don’t know how some could fare against a dragon especially the new self-proclaimed king of Equestria. “Come on, come on something good don’t wanna die the first few days out there” I said almost pleading to the wheel.

“Will you get the strong and burly yet slow minotaur? The jack of all trades changeling? The mighty dragon? Or the swift pegasus perhaps? said Discord with the tone of a salesman.
‘This is its last turn so anything that the needle passes I am not getting’ I thought still looking at the wheel.
The wheel was stopping, slowing down considerably the needle passing the minotaur, changeling ‘Not too bad’, earth pony, and passing the dragon wedge and stopped right between the dragon and pegasus wedges.

“Should I spin it again?” I said. “Nope” he responded. “Then what am I turning into a dragon or a pegasus?”. “You’ll see, oh yes that seems like an interesting body indeed hmm…” he thought to himself while putting his claw to his chin in the thinker pose and starting to talk to himself “yes a body like that should reflect how powerful I am, indeed it might have some side effects, but ahh I will just see them if they appear they might give me a good laugh or two”

“Hellooo? Still here Discord” I said to the scheming Discord. “Ah yes well first you have to be unconscious so I can do it easier”. ‘Why would I have to be unconscious? And how would I look afterwards man flying is going to be tou’ WHAAAACK!!!!! My unconscious body again fell to the ground after Discord hit me in the side of the head with a now recently broken bat that had the word ANESTHETIC written on it.

“Oops sorry” said Discord putting an innocent look on his face which he then proceeded to laugh loudly. “Well let’s begin with the operation” Discord then gathered a big ball of magic and started molding a body for his new warrior.

-15 minutes later-

“Aaaand done” I heard the voice of Discord after waking up for the third time at the same day in Discord’s statue dimension or whatever it was. “Ohhh man what happened, and why am I shorter?” I said while looking around me “hey Discord did you open a window or something? It feels a little cold in here” I said while trying to shake the dizziness away.

“Well hello sleepyhead I administered some anesthetic” he said while holding back some laughter. ‘every time Discord laughs is when I get hurt hmm might just be a coincidence’ I thought trying to convince myself that he hadn’t done anything weird to me. “And I changed your body already” he said with a slightly tired look on his face.

“Oh wow I didn’t even realize it until now” I said excitedly. “Here take a look” he said as he created a large mirror in front of me “Wow so I did get a pegasus body” I could see I had a light grey coat and a darkish cobalt mane replacing my brown hair ‘not too short not too long pretty good I guess’, cyan colored irises and my wings ‘I don't know what it was about them, but they just felt right’ I thought to myself while I looked in the mirror.

“Thank you Discord” Discord was noticeably a little shocked by this. “For what exactly?” he asked trying to understand.
“Because of you I can live a new life, you see back home on Earth I was a coward I never stood up for myself and worse yet I wouldn’t stand up for my friends, but here I can become the person or pony I always wanted to be, so again thank you”.
“You do know that it’s going to be hard life in Equestria right?”

I sighed “I know it won’t be easy but I have to fix Equestria I mean, how could I stand by seeing how that great land is ruined by tyranny? But” I said looking at my hooves “Could you give me a weapon of some kind?”
Still thinking about my words he said “Sure, do you like katanas?” I smiled and said “Does Celestia like cake?” we both laughed at the joke at the expense of the princess “Here you are the best sword I have its 2 feet and a half long it’s called Eclipse Slicer it’s a special sword that only us two can use, it also has the ability of will sharpness” he then made the sword appear and he held it in both of his ‘hands’ so I could see it.

“What is will sharpness?” I asked never having heard the term before. “It’s the ability that makes the sword sharper or duller depending on the will power you put into the slash” he said while remembering past days. “That’s badass” I said. “It should be I made it after all” he said while he smirked.

The sheath was a beautiful midnight blue color and had an amazing looking dragon made of a pure ivory white, he then unsheathed it so I could see the blade ‘this sword looks really badass the name is a little iffy but it still looks awesome’ I thought while I admired Eclipse Slicer, it was slightly curved like it should be and the handle was made with a leathery material that should make it easier to grip.

“Thank you for the sword” I said as he gave it to me and strapped it on my side under my left wing.
“Well it’s time for you to go Storm Chaser I look forward to seeing you on your travels” said Discord a little impatiently “Storm Chaser?” I asked quizzically “How will you see me exactly?”

“From now on your name will be Storm Chaser a fitting name for a pegasus if I do say so myself” he said answering my question “ and simple to see you I will get in your head” ‘what? Damn with him in there I’ll definitely go crazy well, maybe that’s the only way I’ll survive’ I sighed and said “All right just don’t do any creepy things while you’re in there.
“Yeah, yeah whatever” he said as he disappeared.

‘Well lets go’ I heard inside my head ‘whoa that was creepy’ I thought ‘not too creepy if you ask me’ I heard again “What you can hear my thoughts too?” I said with a stressed tone ‘Well duh I am in your head now let’s go’.
A big hole opened under me I yelled not knowing where it was taking me or how deep it was.

I awoke in the middle of a clearing of what looked to me like a big forest "Where am I this time, I swear if im knocked put one more time i am quitting or something because this is just getting ridiculous" I said looking around to see if i could see anyone that could help.

'Would you stop with the whining?' said Discord mentally 'we are in the forest of Legerdemane'.
"Wait what was that?" I said looking toward some bushes. I wanted to take a step back when i realized "Oh crap".
'Whats the problem? asked Discord. "I just realized I dont know how to walk on four legs or fly" I said trying to sound calm.
'Well you better learn quick because there are more of them moving' said Discord as another three bushes started to rustle as well showing four pairs of glowing green eyes.

Hello guys this is my first fanfic so give me some tips on what to improve but not too harsh please
