Discord's Warrior

‘I can’t believe it I’m not even 5 minutes in Equestria yet and I already have to fight for my life’ I thought to myself as I saw the four timberwolves start to size me up ‘its almost as they can tell that something is wrong with me’.

‘Well Storm Chaser you better use that sword I gave you or else those wolves are going to tear you limb from limb and probably eat you while you’re still alive’ said Discord with a hurried tone. ‘Luckily I have played many videogames and kind off had the basics of sword fighting down’ as I thought this I unsheathed Eclipse Slicer grabbing the handle with my right hoof extending it forward.

I stood up on my hind legs putting them apart in a stance, which I had seen so many times before in the anime I had seen in my life. I started to sweat from the anticipation and the normal amount of fear I was feeling. “Fuck I feel a little scared right now” I said with my voice cracking a little.

‘The correct term is buck and you better hope you don’t get more scared’ said Discord with a little anticipation in his voice.
Finally the first timberwolf was out of the bush and poised itself ready to strike at any time. “Come on already!” I yelled at the wolf while trying to keep myself from shaking and dropping my sword all the while still trying to keep my balance.

The timberwolf lunged at me at a surprising speed, so I positioned my right foreleg so I could swing my sword once it got close enough. “Come on, come on” I said while the timberwolf was running toward me baring its fangs at me that would no doubt dig into me if I didn’t get it with the first strike.

The beast was now 6 feet away from me my heart was beating uncontrollably fast in my chest, the adrenaline making me focus. I held my breath hoping it wouldn’t be my last one and swung faster than I had expected down at the head of the drooling timberwolf.

Eclipse Slicer barely went through its head as the wooden wolf fell with a thud onto the floor. “Holy crap” I said breathing heavily “thank you Monster Hunter”, I then lifted the sword again and stabbed the timberwolf again, but this the sword passed easier through its wooden neck.

Feeling a new source of confidence I looked up to the other three timberwolves and yelled “bring it on you ugly buckers I’m still right here!” The biggest timberwolf which was probably the leader of the pack growled loudly at me, the other two immediately rushed at me going from the left and the right.

‘Crap they’re trying to get me from both sides at the same time’ I thought to myself while trying to choose my next move. The timberwolf on the right got to me before the one on the left; it jumped trying to scratch at my face so I quickly got down on four legs, as I lifted my sword where my head was.

The attacking timberwolf jumped right into my sword as it was cut with little resistance in half from head to tail. ‘Nice now the other one’ “Agh crap!” I yelled in pain as the other timberwolf bit down on my left hind leg pinning me down and making standing up on my hind legs again impossible.

‘Watch out the big one is closing in!’ said Discord with a stressed voice. “Oh crap, Oh crap” I repeated to myself while tried to slice the head of the timberwolf that was pinning me down, but it kept its head very low to the ground so I couldn’t do so.
All the while the leader was moving closer to me, knowing that I could do next to nothing to stop him from killing me. “Oh shit was” was all I could say while it was coming to me, real fear staring to get a hold of me knowing that these rapid breaths would be my last.

“ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOARRR!!!” shouted an unknown being making the very loud and menacing sound reverberate in my head and rustle the trees nearby.
The sound made the smaller timberwolf run out of the small clearing and into the dark forest once again whimpering like a dog that had just been hurt. The leader stopped moving all together while looking around the forest, it gave one final growl at me and it slowly retreated into the forest.

“Oh damn, that was close….” I said after sighing a breath of relief, but instantly grimacing now that the adrenaline was going down and I could feel the pain of the bite as the blood was flowing out of it.
“What could have made that noise?” I asked myself. ‘She did’ said Discord like if it was obvious. I was about to ask him where she was but I saw two very big reptilian like, emerald colored eyes staring straight at me from the forest.

I was paralyzed in fear ‘Oh shit there is no way I can fight a dragon with this busted leg and I can’t even run away either’.
‘Calm down Storm Chaser’. I could feel my eye twitching at what Discord just said ‘Calm down? How the hell do you want me to calm down when there is a bucking dragon eyeing at me like I’m its next damn entrée!?’ I thought as the eyes of the dragon still stared at me unblinking with a menacing glare.

‘Would you calm down already? I doubt she is going to eat you’. ‘Yeah?’ I thought while again grimacing because of another pang of pain from my hind leg ‘what makes you say that?’ ‘Simple, if she wanted to eat you she would have already’ I gulped nervously yet again at Discord’s comment.

The dragon then took another step forward and inhaled deeply through her nose, sniffing at the air, while finally showing her royal blue face bearing fangs and light green eyes that where looking upon me no longer with an aggressive manner, but with a curious one instead I could tell by the way her head was relatively slim and by her slightly feminine eyes that she was in fact as Discord had said female.

The dragoness walked into the light of the clearing and completely revealing her powerful wings that where unlike the other dragons’, they were not separate from her arms, but instead were a part of the female drake’s arms with the wing tips being one of her claws elongated to the length of 11 to 12 feet, oddly enough looking like the wing of a Tigrex, her wing membranes were of an icy white much like the scales on her lower neck and belly, the powerful tail was spiked with sharp spikes that looked as sharp as Eclipse Slicer itself, all in all her body 20 foot body was now looming over me.

The dragoness lowered her head so that her eyes were at the same level that mine were again she sniffed around me once more and said with a surprisingly soothing voice “Why do you smell like my kin?”.
I laid there on the ground staring back at her while wondering what to say to the dragoness that had apparently saved my life ‘Say something! Believe me you don’t want to insult a dragon, much less a dragoness they are very proud’ said Discord with a slight nervous tone.

I slightly bowed my head and said “thank you so much for scaring those timberwolves away”. The dragoness gave a small smile and accepted my gratitude with a small nod “it is the code to protect a hatchling from danger, but all I see is a pony with the scent of a dragon”. “I don’t know why I would smell like that” I replied to her “would you please help me get out of this clearing I can’t walk right now” looking to my still wounded hind leg “Oh and can I please know your name?”

The female drake looked slightly insulted by what I had just said ‘oh crap I hope she doesn’t just leave me here’ I thought. She raised her head a little so she could look down on me “one does not ask a dragoness’s name” she said with a harsh tone “but I guess recently nodrake has been living by the code in these dark times. My name is Palewing of the Wyvrex kind and I will assist you”

I smiled and said “thank you, Palewing my name is Zegr I mean Storm Chaser” as she slowly picked me up from the small pool of blood I was in ‘hmm very odd a normal dragoness would have instantly killed you from just asking her name, and the Wyvrex is known for its loyalty to the dragon code, very odd indeed’ said Discord. ‘Who knows maybe my luck is starting to change for the better’.

Palewing picked me up and put me on her back careful to not impale me with one of her sharp spikes and she walked quickly and surprisingly quietly for someone that size, into the dense forest of Legerdemane.
“Here Storm Chaser put these plants on your wounds” she said as she gave me a large amount of what appeared to be medicinal herbs. “Thank you again. Ouch!!” I said as I applied some of the crushed plants over the timberwolf bite “I can’t think of a way to repay you”.

“No need, I choose to help, by the way how did you end up in the middle of Legerdemane forest?”
‘I don’t think you should tell her just yet, she might think you’re crazy or something’ ‘Gee Discord I wonder what you could call a pony that has extended dialogue with voices in his head?’ I said and was responded with a chuckle from the disembodied voice in my head.

“I don’t really know why myself, I just woke up here” I said trying to convince her. “Hmm very odd where you flying over this forest?” she asked. “I don’t remember how to fly right now, I must have hit my head on something” I said trying to sound positive about that.

“Well you won’t survive long in this forest without at least being able to fly” Palewing said. “Yeah I think if I get the basics down again I can start flying again. Oh and Palewing can I ask you something?” “What is it you would like to ask of me Storm Chaser of the Pegasi?”

“Why are you in this forest anyway?” as I asked this I felt her tense up a bit, she relaxed again and said “I came here to this forest because it’s one of the only places that those traitorous bastards the King dragons couldn’t find me in”. I stood up on my four legs and asked “Who are the King dragons and why would you have to hide from them?”

“The King dragons according to them are the perfect dragon kind, and by order of the High King they hunt down other dragons that they deem inferior to themselves to either kill them, make them join their ranks or to enslave them” she said with hatred in her voice.

“Well we are here at my den” she said snapping out of the dark thoughts in her head. Her den was a tree bigger and thicker than Palewing that was hollowed out and a very big rock under the tree which she had hollowed out to live in. “Wow this is a really cool place you have here” I said as she lowered me off her back.

*grumble* “Hey sorry but do you have anything to eat here?” I said for I haven’t eaten anything in the few hours I had in Equestria so far. “Sure, would you be satisfied with some apples? I got them from the tree so they are still fresh I think I don’t really eat those things” she said as she got out from the tree and grabbed some apples and then put them in front of me “Of course they’ll be enough thank you very much” I said while I chewed some of the red fruit.

“Well we should go to sleep Storm Chaser this forest has things that are more dangerous than the timberwolves, and by the way how did you get your hooves on that sword?” At the mention of sleep I started to feel drowsy so I yawned and said “I got it from a friend”

“That friend of yours must be very important, I haven’t seen a sword that well made in a very long time even in these crazy days, and no one has a sword that beautifully made.” “Well he does like to think he is” I said while I laughed to myself.
“Well good night Palewing” I said after yawning once more. “Yes good night to you too, sleep well for tomorrow you are going to learn to fly again” Palewing said as she started to make herself comfortable inside the tree.

'Well not bad for my first day' i thought to myself as i drifted into sleep.
