Midnight, same time everyday out within the depths of the forest, clueless of the fact that dark, deadly creatures could be lurking nearby when I suddenly found myself in a field. My adrenaline started pumping. This wasn't the lush, green field I enjoyed, no; this was a charred, bloodstained battlefield. Without warning something pounced from behind! Pain rushed through my body as they shoved me against a boulder. In my daze, I stumbled round to see my attacker. I gasped, when I saw that before me stood the most demonic type of pony that would send shivers down your spine. Not even thinking twice, I summoned my magic and sent an S.O.S. into the sky. The horse’s bloodthirsty eyes were staring right back at me, waiting to seize the right moment to ravenously tear the flesh right off my bones. I hopefully looked up at the sky. Nothing.
‘All is lost’ I thought to myself,
‘No it’s not! You can’t give up. You have to fight back.’ said a little voice in my head.
Though confused by that, I still managed to lay down a punch into the pony’s chest, but failed to dodge his attack: a bite to the leg. I squealed in pain only to receive a punch into the muzzle. After several failures in my part of the fight I finally managed to grab him by the tail. Like a hammer thrower I used all my might to send him flying about four feet high before he landed onto the far side of the battlefield. That was enough for the rest of the clan to come out of hiding and had me surrounded. The alicorn came out of nowhere, his eyes on fire which was enough to send them running in all directions.
It felt like an age before one of us finally spoke, “What‘s your name young filly?” The kindness in his voice immediately calmed me down. The look in my eyes said it all, “Well that shall not do. Now let see hmm. Oh I know. Come with me” He smiled. I gave a shaky nod in reply. As he began to walk back into the forest I followed not wanting to be caught by those ponies again. I walked with a small limp in my step and every so often I winced quietly which the alicorn soon noticed, “Odball shall tend to that wound on your leg,” he muttered then spoke up, “Come I’ll take you to ‘Hero’s Battle Camp’ ,” he smiled. I smiled weakly back. When we arrived at the campsite I saw nine ponies singing round the campfire. I was then greeted with the same thing any stranger would be: silence, stares and in the end nothing but constant whispering. When the mysterious alicorn that saved my life emerged, they stopped talking and bowed. “Odball,” he said. An alicorn stepped forward.
She was the most beautiful site you would ever see. She had eyes as blue as the bluest summer’s day, her coat was whiter than snow and her mane and tail a creamy light grey. There’s only one way I could describe her, she was like an angel that had just flown down from heaven. “Odball I’m putting my faith that you may help her settle in. Also, could you tend to that wound on her leg? I’m afraid the Blood Seekerz picked a fight on her,” he said looking at me still smiling.
“What’s your name?” Odball asked. Before I had a chance to answer the mystery pony replied, “She doesn't know her name,” he frowned at me, “I thought that maybe you could think of a name for her. The blackish-red filly began to giggle.
“Her face reminds me of the sun,” Odball thought aloud looking at me also, “But Sunny doesn't suit her at all,”
What about Solar. Like the Solar System,” a vaguely familiar male voice spoke up.
“But Solar, what?” The alicorn asked, "I'll think about it over and then confirm it tomorrow in the meantime,"
“Who wants to help Odball settle the filly down, step forward.” None of the fillies or colts stepped forward until a golden colt did, ' Wait a minute. I swear I seen that colt somewhere. But the question is... Where?' I questioned myself.
“Um sir shouldn't we tell her our names?” he asked.
“Yes Butter and tomorrow you can show her around ok?” he answered.
"No!"
Everyone turned round at that outburst to look at the black filly with red hair.
"What if she’s a- a spy or something," she shifted her gaze on me.
"Binder I appreciate this loyalty to this camp" said the alicorn causing Binder to puff out her chest in pride, "but, wild accusations will not be accepted here understood?" with that final word she deflated "now to bed with you all and I don't want to see anyone sneaking around until morning ok? Odball take Solar to shack number 11"
“Understood,” she said solemnly, “come Solar I’ll show you where you will be accommodated for the night.”
For the rest of the night nothing very eventful happened, Odball tended to my wound which healed almost instantly but the true adventures began the next day.
