A Galaxy Star: Camp of Heroisim
I Guess It Starts Like This

The very next day, just like the alicorn said Butter gave Solar a tour round the campsite. Most places, seeing as she wasn't part of the gang yet she had no access to. But to her relief she had full access to the library. Her eyes lit up. She may have lived in the jungle almost all her life with no memory of how she even got there but still knew how to read, and never seen this many books in her life, “I-I’ll stay here if that’s you know, okay,” she smiled her first genuine smile of the day.
“Ok I’ll come and get you when lunch is ready,” the gold pony proclaimed as he exited through the door. She then trotted to the non-fiction section, pulled out the first book from the bottom shelf, found a quiet corner and began to read. For two entire hours her read non-stop until three ponies barged through the library door, “Solar it’s time for lu-hu-hu, hu?!?!?”
Butter uttered and then stared book wall. The other two gasped. Solar came round the other side to see what they were all looking at, “There are only two reasons to explain this. Either, one:” Butter whispered.
“You built this for no entire reason,” the angel pony stuttered, “or two:”
“You read Half the library.” the purple-maned pony finished the sentence off.
“Actually I read the entire non-fiction section and two dictionaries.” she corrected them with a bit of pride of reading that many books in two hours.
Butter sighed taking it all in, “Ok come on girls, time to go to lunch.”
“Right I’ll put these books away.” she grinned.
“How?” Butter challenged.
“Like this,” Solar sent a shower of sparks onto the wall of books. One by one the books lifted themselves up into the air and flew into their rightful places, then gambled after the others. They were all eating at the table, “How has your time been spent in the last two hours,” the alicorn asked politely.
“Greatly I’ve read tons of books in the library.” Solar spread out her hooves to emphasize how many.
“And ’tons’ would be how many?” one of the fillies asked before shovelling a mouthful of hay and oats.
Solar's smile still as wide as the ocean replied, “Well, I read-”
“She read half the library!” The black filly cut in.
“What!?!?” everypony shouted at once. Cutlery fell onto the table and onto plates. Two colts nearly choke themselves as all eyes fell on her. The black filly with red stripes narrowed her eyes suspiciously, and then whispered something to the filly next to her.
“Ahem!” with that throat clearing that somepony did bought them all back to their senses. “You said you'll tell her second name, sir,” Butter acknowledged.
“Huh?” the master shook himself awake, “Oh y-yes Butter. I’m working on it but it's proving difficult. In the meantime, how about a song?”
"Yeah" everypony shouted at once, "and we can tell her our names after it right" shouted a male foal.
"Yes, alright let go then to the talent stage."
They all made their way to a little clearing. In there was a wooden stage and wooden benches perfect for at least six ponies to sit on.
“Solar take a seat." said the alicorn, "ok begin." The music began to play and the fillies and colts began to sing. Solar watched in awe at them. At the end of the song they said their names starting with the one that started:
Stella Blud, a creamy yellow Pegasus with a long straight rosy-red mane and tail and turquoise eyes, Fire Hoof, a dark red unicorn with long orange mane and tail and yellow highlight in the middle with fiery orange eyes, Nixiela Blak a sooty grey earth pony with turquoise eyes and irises, and shoulder length dark violet mane and tail, Bassolt Dots, and purple coated, pale yellow spotted Pegasus with a long dark blue mane and tail and same coloured eyes, Odball Starshine, a white earth pony with long light creamy hair light, baby blue eyes and a coal black four-pointed star in the middle of her forehead, Niero Grun, and light greenish-yellow unicorn with two light green stripes, and a red stripe in the middle of them, on his legs neck and ears, with light blue eyes and green and red eyes, Binder Redd, a pitch black alicorn filly with long dark red hair blood-red eyes and light red irises and bloody scars and bloodstains all over her body, Butter Golden an alicorn true to his name with a buttercup mane and dune coloured eyes and coat, and Gildinuss.
Then the mystery alicorn stood up and said, “And I, am Crescent Mercury Against The Setting Sun And The Rising Moon.”
Solar looked at him in complete astonishment, “Now it’s your turn,” Binder smiled a smug smile, “oh wait. That’s right you don’t know anything coming from the jungle.” She sniggered. Taking no notice of her rudeness Solar went to the back of the stage. In there she gripped the handle of a single bluish-white block, and dragged it on-stage. Taking note of the tiny button on the top she pressed it. Block transformed into twenty. She then ran back and from a round table took five batons, and held them: two with her wing, two with her hooves and the remaining one levitating in front of her. She took her forelegs off the ground to hold the batons and managed to keep her balance.
“You are meant to sing, not play!” Binder snapped only to receive a glare from Crescent. When the tune began she turned round and began to sing.
Two and a half minutes later everypony began clap and cheer.
“Your voice is so beautiful,” Odball commented.
“It sounds like a bird song, no, prettier than a bird song not wait like a,” Nixiela smiled.
"A nightingale," finished Fire.
"That's it!" Crescent exclaimed. "Let's call her Nightengale."
"Don't you mean nightingale?" protested Gildinuss quietly.
“Where’d you learn to master the magical music blocks?” Stella asked curiously.
Solar threw the batons into the air and balanced them on top of her nose and ending the show by catching them in her mouth and with a bow. Other than Binder and Gildinuss, the ponies clapped enthusiastically, “Actually I don’t know where or how I knew how to play them,” Solar wondered out loud, “all I did was unfold them grabbed the batons and it sort of just came naturally after that.
For the rest of the day they played games, sang songs, danced and entertained each other, and when the sun was in the horizon did they all make their way back to their shacks. “Solar?” Butter yawned.
“Yeah?” she turned to look at him.
“Tomorrow you have to come to the training hall at around 8 o’clock.” He replied.
“Training hall at 8 o’clock,” she repeated, “ok then see you at 8.” Solar shouted and waved goodbye as she ran into her shack.
